Chapter 84: Chapter 19: The Little Summoner

Next year again? What’s going on?

Gu Feng, unable to help Yun Sheng, kept apologizing and was pulled back by i Li.

After being turned away from the Magic Academy by Master i Li, Yun Sheng inquired with the school guards and found out that she had missed the enrollnt period for the Royal Magic Academy.

The Magic Academies and Martial Arts Halls across the continent all adapt spring enrollnt, and the Royal Magic Academy sets its enrollnt each year in spring. The enrollnt for this year had ended two months ago.

It is already early sumr, which ans if Yun Sheng wants to enter the Magic Academy, she would have to wait until next year to register and participate in the examination.

Doctor Fan could only comfort Yun Sheng, saying that a year would pass quickly, and during this year, she could start learning Basic Water Magic and Cloud Dream Ice Sleep known by Doctor Fan, which would an that Yun Sheng could initially master magic of three different properties.

After that day, the dical hall beca much busier, and it was not until more than half a month later, as the days got hotter one after the other, entering midsumr, that Yun Sheng rembered the matter she had earlier agreed upon with Wenren Xu, delivering the dicine to Wenren Residence.

With a steady inco from the dical hall, Yun Sheng also started dealing with doctor’s duties, but the profit from selling finished dicine was quite substantial. Wanting to refine so new dicines, these all required a substantial amount of money, so Yun Sheng decided to make a trip to Wenren Residence to sell the Qi Gathering Powder and ditation Water she had prepared.

During the lunch break, while the dical hall was not yet busy, Yun Sheng asked for leave from Doctor Fan, put on the Beast Language Ring, stored the new dicines in the ring, and then stepped out the door.

The mont Yun Sheng left the dical hall, Little Black eagerly followed her.

Yun Sheng hadn’t taken Little Black out for quite so ti; seeing it so restless, she decided to take it along with her.

Wenren Residence is located in Changlin Lane, a secluded alley on the southeast side of Yujing City.

The alley mostly comprises grand residences with tall gates, not many residential buildings, and all being standalone mansions, clearly the dwellings of the wealthy in Yujing City.

After knocking on the door, a kind-faced old servant ca out. As soon as he heard Yun Sheng was looking for Wenren Xu, the old servant’s face brightened, "Are you the little thing that the young master ntioned?"

Yun Sheng pouted, being called a little thing again, but considering the money involved, she endured it.

The Marrow Jade Technique practiced by Yun Sheng is a very mild Taoist internal cultivation technique. Although it also strengthens the body and opens the Eight Extraordinary ridians, it doesn’t present much of a difference in appearance compared to the fighting spirit of Martial Artists on the Wuji Continent.

Yun Sheng is only six years old, appears rather small and thin, but has been well-nourished in Yujing recently, looking chubby and indeed younger than her actual age, inevitably leading to being called "little thing".

It wasn’t long after the old servant went inside to report, that Yun Sheng heard a rush of hurried footsteps from inside the compound.

Upon hearing the footsteps, Yun Sheng estimated several people were quickly heading towards the gate; it seed there were other guests at Wenren Xu’s residence.

A bear-like man and a female Mage looking like a Martial Artist, along with the hundred tis more handso than any woman, Wenren Xu, the three of them rushed like a tornado towards Yun Sheng.

Little did they know that over the past month, Wenren Xu had been anxiously waiting for Yun Sheng’s arrival in his residence.

Little did Yun Sheng know, she had been delayed by the duties at the dical hall and the dicine Man Examination, making Wenren Xu suffer in waiting.

He was nagged countless tis like knocking on a wooden fish by Feng Kuo and Mu Nanyan, and he had been reprimanded several tis, feeling really anxious inside.

Today, upon hearing from the servant that a little girl had co to look for him, he was overjoyed, a scene even happier than eting a loved one.

"Little one! You’re finally here, I’ve been waiting for you to death!" Wenren Xu’s face blood with a radiant smile.

Mu Nanyan also sized up Yun Sheng from head to toe, and as Wenren Xu previously described, Yun Sheng was young, with shiny black eyes. Though dressed simply, she radiated spiritual energy and looked like a lovable little fellow.

Just as Yun Sheng was pondering the origins of the other two, the scariest looking man among them, resembling a bear, took a quick stride forward.

He opened his arms, without a word, wanting to lift Yun Sheng up for a clearer look.

Little did he know, just as his body leaned forward, a black shadow suddenly sprang out from behind Yun Sheng.

It was Little Black, misunderstanding that the man intended to harm Yun Sheng and acting protectively.

Little Black’s sharp claws created several gusts of wind, striking towards Feng Kuo.

Different from when Yun Sheng first rescued him, Little Black had grown taller and stronger, appearing like a lively little wolf cub. Along the way, many pedestrians were frightened away by Little Black.

Feng Kuo, adept in Dual Cultivation of Magic and Martial Arts, did not take it lightly. He tucked in his chest and leaped backward, his large fra floating like a feather through several steps. His fierce eyes glaring, he executed a mantis sweeping kick, his long legs swiftly sweeping towards Little Black.

Just as Little Black was about to be hit by the sweeping leg, it calmly dodged to the side.

"Good heavens, it’s actually a War Beast!"

Mu Nanyan and Wenren Xu were shocked, and Feng Kuo’s face also showed a strange expression.

"Little one, he’s our captain, one of our own," said Wenren Xu, rushing forward to intervene.

With a shout from Yun Sheng, Little Black imdiately retreated back.

"Wait, this little fellow understands you, you can control a War Beast! Are you a Summoner?" Feng Kuo and the others, experienced as they were, recognized the unusual bond between Yun Sheng and Little Black at a glance.

Moreover, the coordination between Yun Sheng and Little Black just now was seamless, only possible for a Summoner when commanding a Demon Beast so effortlessly!

The three Bounty Hunters looked at Yun Sheng with anticipation.

"I am a Summoner, but I haven’t passed the examination yet, and Little Black isn’t my War Beast; he’s just a Battle Pet, and I... cannot go to the Summoning Institute," Yun Sheng felt uncomfortable under their intense gaze, though she had already summoned Bobbie, she was technically a War Beast Summoner.

However, on Wuji Continent, to beco a Summoner, one must pass a specific Examination, so Yun Sheng was not yet truly a War Beast Summoner by that standard.

Mother Jiusheng had once reminded Yun Sheng not to let people know easily that she was a Summoner, so Yun Sheng did not attend the Summoning Institute Examination.

As Yun Sheng was speaking, she suddenly felt lighter. She was already scooped up by a pair of furry large hands.

Facing a bear-like face, Feng Kuo opened his big mouth, placing Yun Sheng on his shoulder, "Are you worried your identity as a Summoner will attract trouble? Don’t worry, with us here, we can naturally keep this matter secret for you. Let’s take you to the Summoning Institute now to participate in the War Beast Summoner’s examination."

Just when it’s ti to sleep, soone brings a pillow, "Huangteng" Hunter Soldier Team just happens to need a Summoner.

Confused, Yun Sheng was taken to the Summoning Institute by Feng Kuo and the other two, who in their excitent, forgot to even ask what Yun Sheng’s official Summoned Beast was.
