Chapter 63: Chapter 62: Father’s Strength
Two hours ago, Yun Canghai sent Yun Sheng rushing towards Bizhou Village.
Why hadn’t the Yun Residence sent soone here? Ten days have passed, which was enough ti to get the ssage to Yujing.
Yun Sheng didn’t know what that strange cloud ntioned by the villagers was, but Yun Canghai did.
The Dutian Beast Blood Cloud!
Only the Beast Blood Cloud that drifts out from the Sky Blood Realm can engulf all life around it like a sweeping storm.
The Beast Blood Cloud, an existence that has made all the powerful beings of Wuji Continent shudder in terror for over a thousand years.
Legend has it that at the far eastern edge of Wuji Continent, overlooking the East Sea, lies a man-made Cloud Sea Barrier. Within the barrier, a Beast Blood Ocean is sealed, known as the Dutian Beast Blood Cloud Realm.
That ocean of clouds was ford from the blood, evil Qi, and souls of countless demon beasts slaughtered on Wuji Continent years ago.
Although the Barrier exists, every ten years a crack would appear, allowing the Beast Blood Clouds within to take the opportunity to drift into Wuji Continent through the fissure.
Once the Blood Cloud enters the continent, it absorbs the magic elents between heaven and earth and devours living beings. Over ti, it gains spiritual energy, turns into a Demon Beast Embryo, and once the embryo matures, it will burst forth from the clouds, becoming a high-level Demon Beast.
The Demon Beasts born from the Beast Blood Cloud are not like the common Demon Beasts of the continent; they possess extraordinary talents, with so even capable of wielding terrifying magic.
The peril the villagers faced was due to this Beast Blood Cloud.
Upon discovering the existence of such Beast Blood Clouds, most countries on the continent would kill them before they could hatch and break free from the clouds.
However, Bizhou Village was remote and the villagers were not well-inford. The ssage was not promptly passed to Yujing. If things were to drag on, the Beast Blood Cloud might mature and erge. By then, not only the fleeing villagers but also the nearby cities would suffer.
Yun Canghai was a mber of the Yun Family; although he had betrayed his family for his wife in his early years, he couldn’t bear to see his kin and their subjects holess and displaced.
Ahead, a colossal Blood Cloud lood like a raging beast crouching on the sands — it was where the village once stood.
"This rich, blood-like color, with the heartbeat of a fetus audible from afar, this Beast Blood Cloud will break out of the clouds within half a day," Yun Canghai saw the expanding volu of the Blood Cloud that completely covered the entire village, his expression as somber as still water.
Before even getting close to the Blood Cloud, a small tornado tumbled out from the midst of the clouds.
Yun Canghai swiftly chanted, and a dazzling rocket hit the tornado.
The tornado dissipated, with the rocket vanishing alongside it.
The sky was painted a deep crimson.
The Beast Blood Cloud appears to be nothing more than a cloud.
But Yun Canghai knew that outside that cloud of blood, it was protected by powerful magic elents, and piercing through to kill the Demon Embryo inside would require at least the use of high-level magic.
From the Wind Elent attack just now and the descriptions from the villagers, it was clear that though not yet hatched, the Beast Blood Cloud most definitely contained a powerful Wind Attribute Demon Beast.
Yun Canghai held his Magic Wand, as a bone-chilling cold surged through him again. Using another high-level magic might trigger the poison within his body...
The tender face of his daughter swirled repeatedly in his mind.
Yun Canghai slowly lowered the Magic Wand in his hand.
"Woo----"
A sound like the singing of the wind emanated from within the Beast Blood Cloud.
"The Demon Beast within the Beast Blood Cloud is on the verge of hatching," Yun Canghai no longer hesitated. His tall and thin figure, like a javelin, plunged into the Blood Cloud.
Not far away, Little Black hastened over, and upon seeing Yun Canghai dive into the Beast Blood Cloud, it followed suit and leaped into it as well.
Two hours later, Yun Sheng and a young man in white, along with two others, rushed to the desolate plains.
On the horizon, a blood-red mushroom cloud rose, which, upon shaky inspection, resembled a blood-colored Lingzhi.
A crack continually grew from within the clouds, where a hideous demon beast writhed, resembling both a worm and a maggot.
Half of the demon beast’s body had already erged from the Beast Blood Cloud, covered in incubation fluid and towering like a small building.
There were no villages, plants, or any living things around.
"It’s a Wind Maggot Beast," the two boy mages said in unison after seeing the demon beast’s appearance, their eyes filled with pity as they looked towards the girl.
The Wind Maggot Beast, an Eighth Rank Magical Beast, ca with innate Wind Magic known as Wind Vortex, with an astonishing devouring power.
The girl’s father must have been devoured by the beast.
"Father!" Yun Sheng searched all around, but there was no sign of Yun Canghai.
"Don’t be reckless!" The teenager pulled Yun Sheng back, and the two other children were shocked again. Junior Fate actually disregarded his cleanliness to grab hold of the filthy girl?
"Let go!" Yun Sheng tried to shake the boy off, but despite his frail appearance, his strength was surprisingly great; his grip was like iron, firmly restraining Yun Sheng.
A massive Fireball burst out from the Blood Cloud, like a conspicuous firework lighting up the dark night.
Upon closer inspection, it was not a Fireball but a person.
There, amidst the Beast Blood Cloud, a figure stood suspended in mid-air.
The person stood in the sky, and behind were a pair of Elental Fire Wings ford of the Fire Elent, drenched in blood, yet the Magic Wand in hand still shone with a dazzling light.
"Five, five top-grade Fire Soul Stones! My God, it’s a Sky Mage!" The two boys were astonished once more.
Unexpectedly, in such a remote part of the central nation, there appeared a Sky Mage.
Who would have said that Great Zhou City’s national strength was gradually declining, reduced to the last place among the Five Countries, but what about this Sky Mage?
Yun Sheng stared blankly at Yun Canghai in the sky, her father.
It felt as if she had returned to the very night she had crossed over.
That blood-soaked man, single-handed, had slain dozens of n in black.
Sensing that the Beast Blood Cloud was restless and about to surge forward.
Beside Yun Sheng, the young man in white had a stern gaze, his hands holding several Magic Wands, each also topped with five Demon Beast Soul Stones.
"By the Holy Na, protect ; Holy Shield," as if a daybreak had suddenly leaped above the horizon, Yun Sheng felt a stream of pure white transparent Magic Elents flow around her, and in an instant, a crescent-shaped Light Shield ford in front of the four.
Light Magic?
Was he a Light Mage?
That was true Light Magic, casting an almost perfect Light Shield in just a mont’s chant!
"Surprised, aren’t you? You poor excuse for a mage, this is the Great Zhou City’s renowned Si Ming, Mr. Xia Wenxu," boasted the boy mage.
Si Ming?
She seed to have heard this na sowhere.
There was no ti to think about where she had heard the na.
Outside the Holy Light Shield, a violent surge was heard.
Yun Canghai raised his Magic Wand high, and in the midst of the Beast Blood Cloud, most of the Wind Maggot Beast’s body had already crawled out.
"Boom, boom, boom--" A barrage of fiery light, like Heavenly Thunder and Earthly Fire, in an instant, countless Fireballs like a swarm of flapping locusts, like a teor shower, illuminated the entire sky.
