Chapter 355: Chapter 217: Sky Expedition vs. Wolf Teeth (Part 2)

The forr Crown Prince, erging from the Cold Palace after years of imprisonnt, made a spectacular debut and joined the Wu Xuan Wuji Hall.

Although he was a Prince, his ti of entry into Wuxuan Wuji Hall was almost identical to that of Tang Yu.

Zhan Li was harsh on everyone, treating all equally without discrimination—Tang Yu and Ye Beiming both started from the Outer Hall, attending the thrice-daily practices at dawn, noon, and dusk.

Yet Tang Yu did not last a year before withdrawing from Wuxuan Wuji Hall.

In contrast, Ye Beiming shot up from the Outer Hall to the Inner Hall like a rocket in just over a year, ultimately becoming the number one expert in the Inner Hall.

Tang Yu had never seen him in action, but rumors had it that the two top experts of the Inner Hall, Cheng Bai, a Marquis and brother-in-arms, and Bu Jiuxiao, could only manage a draw when they tead up against Ye Beiming. That was old news from a year ago, and now it was anyone’s guess to which terrifying realm Ye Beiming’s strength had ascended in the past year.

However, Ye Beiming paid no attention to the look in Tang Yu’s eyes. If it wasn’t for Yun Sheng’s sake, he would have never associated with soone like Tang Yu.

Despite the soundproofing effect of the Magic Array, Ye Beiming’s gaze had always been fixed on Yun Sheng alone.

Watching her plump red lips moving, a clever spark flashing through her pitch-black eyes, Ye Beiming felt an unexpected comfort in his heart.

He really wanted to tell Yun Sheng that he understood so lip-reading; he had heard every word she said.

Truly like a Little Wildcat, capable of coming up with such a shaless sche.

Within the Magic Array, Yun Canglang and Zhou Quan looked as if they had swallowed an egg.

In contrast, Yun Sheng’s cheeks were flushed with excitent, her face beaming with joy.

Ye Beiming found this pleasing to watch, feeling a soft warmth in his heart. In the early days of Yun Sheng’s disappearance, he felt like a wildly hostile beast, ready to tear apart everyone around him.

It was not until he made contact with Yun Sheng that he felt the hostility within him dissipate.

He enjoyed being with Yun Sheng, even if the two of them said nothing. Watching her every frown and smile from afar was enough to relax his tense nerves.

Perhaps, she was the other half of his life.

Within the Magic Array, Yun Sheng did not notice Ye Beiming’s gaze, and she reiterated the plan once more: "Uncle, Zhou Quan, did you both catch all of that? If you got it, give

so sort of reaction, will you?"

Seeing her uncle and Zhou Quan dumbfounded, Yun Sheng wore a look of deep disappointnt.

Yun Canglang was silent. Why did he feel that his niece was so "shaless"?

It had been discussed among the Hunter Soldiers of the Sky Expedition Hunting Corps that within the corps, it was preferable to offend the Commander rather than Young Master Yun.

Young Master Yun was the type who could make one die with a smile – a ruthless character indeed.

Zhou Quan had a bitter expression on his face, "Young Master, do you really want

to do that? I think that’s a bit too cowardly."

"What would you have us do then? Or do you want to fight the female Mage? Let

tell you, her Fire Magic could leave you scorched and as naked as a plucked chicken," Yun Sheng threatened him with a stern face.

Hearing this, Zhou Quan felt that would even be more embarrassing. Well, there was no help for it since he had encountered Young Master Yun. Forget dignity; it might as well take a hike.

"Sheng’er, your strategy already has the greatest chance of victory. But are you sure you want to combat Huo Nu? You know her strength," Yun Canglang initially planned to have himself and Cang Lang join forces to barely clinch the first round, subsequently letting Zhou Quan face Huo Nu, and only then would Yun Sheng face Liu Hao. Yet Yun Sheng insisted on fighting Huo Nu herself.

Both being Mages, a head-to-head contest would surely put Yun Sheng at a disadvantage.

"Uncle, I have my thods, don’t worry. Just follow my plan, and the Wolf Fang Hunting Corps is destined to be defeated," Yun Sheng said confidently, her self-assurance also infecting Yun Canglang and Zhou Quan.

After the discussion, Yun Sheng withdrew the Soundproof Magic Array.

The Wolf Fang Hunting Corps had also finished their discussions.

Both sides with a total of six people, each occupied a position.

Tang Yu honestly shrank into a corner, while Ye Beiming stepped forward and said loudly: "Today, it is my honor to serve as the witness for the competition between the Sky Hunting Corps and the Wolf Fang Hunting Corps. The two sides have agreed to a best-of-three competition to decide the victor. The loser will accept the outco as per the rules agreed upon before the competition, without any regrets. Moreover, this is not a fight to the death; both parties must stop upon achieving a hit."

After Ye Beiming finished speaking, the commanders of both sides stepped forward, each raising a bowl of wine and downing it in one gulp.

Cang Lang, after drinking the wine, smashed the bowl with a hearty gesture, the sound of it hitting the ground was exceptionally grating.

"Commander Yun, I have long admired your reputation. To have the chance to compete against you today is an honor. Regardless of win or lose, I, Cang, will have no further comnts," he said, and with that, he assud a fighting stance, ready to begin.

Yun Canglang held his empty bowl and paused for a full few seconds before reluctantly coughing once, saying with not a small amount of regret: "Commander Cang, I’m afraid your wish will be in vain. In this first round, the one competing against you will not be ."

Yun Canglang steeled himself and stepped back.

Under Yun Sheng’s stern gaze, a dejected Zhou Quan moved forward one step, confronting Cang Lang.

"..."

"..."

Zhou Quan cleared his throat, "Sorry to say, everyone. My na is Zhou Quan, a ’E’ rank, no, a ’D’ rank Hunter Soldier of the Sky Hunting Corps. I’ve just been promoted recently."

With each word Zhou Quan said, the veins on Cang Lang’s arms, bulging with rage and humiliation, writhed like earthworms.

"Yun Canglang! What do you an by this, sending a ’D’ rank Hunter Soldier to fight ? This is an insult to our Wolf Fang!" Cang Lang erupted in rage on the spot.

He had not expected that in the first match, neither the commander nor deputy commander of Sky Expedition were willing to take the stage.

A re Hunter Soldier, a ’D’ rank Hunter Soldier who couldn’t even beat Liu Hao?!

Both Huo Nu and Liu Hao at the side were shocked, especially Liu Hao.

With Zhou Quan, the weakest of the Sky Hunting Corps stepping up, did that an the remaining two competitors... would he have to face Yun Canglang himself?

Yun Canglang’s moves were so swift, he could swat away his hidden weapons as easily as swatting flies, so what was the point in competing?

The smile on Huo Nu’s face also faded. She glared at Yun Sheng angrily.

What a cunning Little Wildcat, no wonder she agreed so readily.

However, Ye Beiming was shaking his head and laughing to himself, having caught every bit of Yun Sheng’s lip language earlier.

This Little Wildcat, not only is her dical skill unusual, but her way of persuading others is also quite peculiar.

The lineup arranged by Yun Sheng was Zhou Quan vs. Cang Lang, Yun Canglang vs. Liu Hao, and she herself against Huo Nu.

Such a lineup, when first proposed, was imdiately rejected by Yun Canglang.

Yun Canglang had his own theories; he thought that in a Hunter Soldier battle, much like going to war, the first battle was crucial — the first match must be won to gain montum and secure a victory of three out of two matches.

But Yun Sheng rejected Yun Canglang’s view completely. She believed that under circumstances where the enemy was strong and we were weak, one must feign weakness to catch the opponent off guard.

She even ntioned a simple story, a story known as the tale of Tian Ji’s horse racing.
