Yu Qingshi’s Gift (1)
Yu Qingshi put the gifts Jiang Xiaoman gave him in a small box.
He had so many toys that he wouldn’t finish them in a year, even if he threw away one every day. But he was still willing to give the weird things from Xiaoman a place in his room, keeping them inside a box, even if he would never wear the tiger hat or play with the pebbles.
From his behavior, Yu Wencheng saw that he still liked Xiaoman.
After coming back from the village, Yu Wencheng encouraged him to contact Xiaoman more than once. However, Yu Qingshi had been lonely for a long ti. When he was silent, he would not say a single word for the whole day. Even if he wanted to contact Jiang Xiaoman now, he didn’t know what to say.

Yu Qingshi thought about it seriously for three days. The more he thought about it, the more he beca upset and unwilling.
That Jiang Xiaoman girl was just too awful and annoying. If he didn’t get back at her at least a little bit, then all his dignity as a man would be gone. How could he play with her in the future? Last ti she scared him with a mouse, and now she startled him with so worms. He would not let her go easily.
He decided to write her back and put in so harsh words and include sothing terrible in the letter to scare that little girl who did not know the imnsity of heaven and earth.
Yu Wencheng, who did not know the inside story was so moved that he burst into tears.
This is great; his son finally had friends.
As for what to include to scare her, Yu Qingshi had a hard ti figuring it out.
He also wanted to put small worms and mice in the envelope to scare her, but 1) he didn’t dare catch them, 2) it was difficult to find those things in his house, and 3) Jiang Xiaoman would definitely not be afraid of them anyway.
He thought hard about it for a long ti and finally figured out what to send.
He sent a thick stack of exercise books to Jiang Xiaoman.
Yu Qingshi was a smart boy and a fast learner, and he did a lot of exercise questions.
From arithtic problems, logical thinking problems to a combination of multiple kinds of problems, the whole vacation would not be enough to finish them all.
His teachers and his father also bought him exercise books, and even his grandparents also bought him so.
This love was too deep. Yu Qingshi did not want to see them, so he wisely gave them to Jiang Xiaoman to let her experience the fear of being crushed under exercise books.
He didn’t want to do them anyway.
After making up his mind, Yu Qingshi eagerly wrote a letter.

Thank you for your letter.
I like your gift very much, but if you could change them into sothing else, I guess I would be even happier.
I already go to school, and I know more words than you. I also don’t have to use pinyin1 because I can use the Xinhua dictionary2. These are my new treasures, I will give them to you. I hope you can finish them.]
After writing that, he folded the paper and put it inside an envelope.
The letter was easy, but the thick stack of exercise books was a problem. Yu Qingshi didn’t know how he could put them inside the envelope.
Yu Wencheng said, “I have to go take a look at the mine in a few days. Give them to ; I’ll make a little detour and give them to Xiaoman.”
