Li Xiuying was still alive.
This wasn't the news that Lin irong was expecting to hear regarding the preditated accident. After two weeks of being on the edge, the news about Li Xiuying's condition started to pick up on the evening news and entertainnt magazines.
How could she possibly survive that accident? Yao Qigang assured her that Li Xiuying wouldn't be able to make it out alive.
She'd seen the news herself. It was big news before because of Li Xiuying's involvent. The news showed the destruction of five car pile-up halting the traffic and left damaged vehicles across the freeway while Li Xiuying's car was beyond recognition after being retrieved from the river.
Ergency services were called to the scene imdiately when there were reports of a multi-vehicle collision but the rescuers had a hard ti rescuing Li Xiuying and Song Zexi who was being dragged away by the currents in the river.
Police, fire crews and paradics arrived in the shortest ti to control the traffic and to give imdiate first aid to those who were injured.
So how did Li Xiuying manage to survive without much damage apart from a temporary mory loss? Did she really forget everything or was she just pretending?
Lin irong had been livid when she finally received a phone call from Mu Jianyu only to tell her that he was ending his affair with her but promised to give her baby child support once she gave birth, much to her chagrin.
"Ying needs … I cannot leave her right now." He told her. "If you need anything, then just leave a ssage with my assistant and he'll provide everything you need."
"What do you an you can't leave her? Aren't the two of you divorced?" She gritted her teeth and tried to suppress her anger. "Darling, are you hearing yourself? Didn't you say you don't love her anymore? Jianyu, are you doing this out of guilt?"
There was no way he would act like this unless he felt guilty about what happened to Li Xiuying.
She was losing him and Lin irong knew it. To lose him wasn't an option. He was wealthy and he would be able to provide everything for her in the future. She wouldn't let him get away that easily not when she'd sacrificed a lot for him!
"No… it's just… I realized that I still love my wife."
That was the last straw that broke the cal's back for Lin irong and she exploded in rage.
"You love her? Have you forgotten that it was who'd stayed with you when you needed soone to talk to? Let remind you, you promised to marry and I'm now your fiancée! How can you just break our relationship like I was nothing to you!"
"A mistress is just a mistress. A wife is a wife. Know your place woman!" Mu Jianyu snapped at her for the first ti since they started their affair. He had never raised his voice to her even when she acted like a spoiled child in front of him.
"Jianyu…" Lin irong was left speechless in shock. This was far from her expectations. She didn't know he'd made up his mind to end their affair. No. No. No! This couldn't be happening!
"Darling, calm down, please. Let's talk about it. Rember our ti together. Have you forgotten your promises to ? What about our baby?" She tried to calm down but failed.
"I'm sorry but let's stop it here. I'll be with my wife and that's final."
Mu Jianyu was determined to end everything between them. How could he cast her away as if he had no use of her anymore? He was determined to return to Li Xiuying but she had to find a way to keep him by her side.
"I see. You made up your mind, huh?" Her voice slightly lowered, her eyes glinted with malice. "So you also don't want this baby anymore?"
She didn't need to elaborate on what she ant as Mu Jianyu easily picked up what she ant. Lin irong didn't mind using the unborn child in her womb to coax Mu Jianyu to stay with her.
"You wouldn't dare!" He roared over the phone. "Don't you ever do anything to my child!"
The corner of Lin irong's lips curled up in a grin. She got the reaction she wanted from him.
'Ah, Mu Jianyu. Do you really think you can get rid of easily? Oh, no, you can't.'
"You think I wouldn't? If you're going to leave then what would happen to and this baby? Do you think your wife wouldn't rember how you betrayed her? Do you know what she would feel once she found out about this child?"
Mu Jianyu was taken aback. The thought of Ying rembering what he did before her accident was sothing he didn't consider. What would he do once Ying rembers everything?
Lin irong continued, knowing she'd already cornered him once again. How foolish did he think she was. Did he really think that she would make it easy for him? He should only bla himself for this.
"Maybe you couldn't bear to leave her, but Li Xiuying would leave you once she rembers and when that ti arrives, she would regret being with you. This child… this child is proof of your greatest sin."
"Shut up! You better shut your mouth, Lin irong!" The hold Mu Jianyu had on his phone tightened. He didn't want to hear any of these from her. Not from her. Anyone but her.
He hated to be threatened. Seeing how Lin irong was getting an upper hand against him, he was starting to regret replacing Ying with this kind of vicious woman.
"I'll confess everything to my wife and beg for her forgiveness if I have to. Ying… she would try to understand no matter what. Even if I need to kneel down for her forgiveness, I will." He said but it sounded more like he was trying to convince himself than Lin irong.
"If you leave right now, I'll tell the world what you've done and your wife will know about us and this child. I will tell the world how you betrayed your wife and Li Xiuying wouldn't be able to forgive you." Lin irong blatantly threatened him. She knew now how much he valued Li Xiuying's feelings for him and she wouldn't mind using it against him.
"If you have a death wish, do that. Do you think you will be left unscathed by the Li family?" He laughed maniacally. "You'll be facing sothing worse than death with ."
Mu Jianyu hung up the call in rage. He knew what he said to Lin irong would be their end once Li Xiuying and her whole family found out about his betrayal. However, he didn't care that much because he was more worried about how Li Xiuying would react once she rembered everything.
He fell on his knees and lowered his head in sha and guilt. Darkness enveloped his entirety. How was he supposed to explain this to his wife? Should he co clean or continue to pretend that he did nothing wrong?
'Ying, I've wronged you.'
However, in the end, no matter how much he regretted or tried to repent for his sins, the person whom he wanted to reach out to was no more.
