On a business trip for a week?

Hearing Peter Wright’s words, Stella Grant frowned slightly.

A week’s ti is too long; she’s probably not able to wait that long.

Not to ntion that dragging on for a week without progress on the Sutton Group’s side is hard to explain; she also worries about other companies beating them to it.

Don’t be fooled by Shawn Bishop’s ss; there are plenty of people keeping a close eye on it.

After all, the profit-making thods she can think of, other companies can think of too.

If the two companies’ strengths differ greatly, that’s fine; but if they’re evenly matched, it cos down to who acts faster.

Thinking of this, Stella’s frown relaxed, and she looked up to ask Peter, "Is there a way to get an invitation to Miss Shelby’s birthday party?"

Peter looked troubled, "I’ll try to think of sothing."

Stella has been navigating the business world for years, always understanding the balance of reward and punishnt, "Then I’ll trouble you with that, and after it’s done, I’ll treat you to dinner."

Peter was slightly stunned upon hearing this, complying verbally as part of his duty, while internally reassessing Stella.

She knows how to maintain balance, can sternly scold soone or kindly coax them, can use strategies or take a humble stance.

No wonder a young woman can sit in this position.

Peter was still in a daze when Stella spoke again, "Go ahead, best to get it done before three in the afternoon."

Peter, "Okay, Manager Grant."

Watching Peter leave, Stella then hurriedly did her howork on Shawn Bishop.

Having not much prior engagent, it was mostly last-minute preparation.

Peter’s ability to get things done was even beyond Stella’s expectations; within short two hours, he’d placed the invitation to Miss Shelby’s birthday party on her desk.

Stella smiled lightly, casually took a pack of cigarettes from the drawer and handed it to Peter, "Thanks."

Peter refused, not daring to take it, "No, Manager Grant, this makes feel uneasy, I..."

Stella pushed the cigarettes forward a bit more, her attitude leaving no room for refusal, "Take it, this is beyond work boundaries; we need to keep personal and business separate."

Hearing Stella say this, Peter smiled awkwardly, "Then I thank Manager Grant."

At six thirty in the afternoon, after leaving the company, Stella didn’t imdiately go to the Shelby birthday party but instead first visited a mall to pick out a dress suitable for the occasion.

People rely on clothes like horses rely on saddles; no matter how frugal she is, she can’t save this expense.

To blend into this circle, strength is the foundation; appearance is the key to open doors.

At eight in the evening, Stella appeared at Miss Shelby’s birthday party in a champagne-colored evening gown.

The Shelby family’s young lady indeed lives up to the reputation of being a precious gem; a small birthday party had attracted at least half of Veridia’s business circle.

On the surface, it seed like they were here to celebrate her birthday, but in reality, they were all looking to expand their networks.

Stella casually took a glass of wine from a waiter and mingled in the crowd for a good twenty minutes before finally spotting Hugh York in a corner.

Hugh York, in his early fifties, appeared youthful due to good maintenance.

Combined with his status, standing there, he looked confident and spirited.

Hugh was conversing with two n, seemingly enjoying the conversation.

Stella stood at a distance, simply observing without approaching, fearing she might co on too strong.

When the two n chatting with Hugh walked away, she finally stepped forward in her high heels, greeting and introducing herself simultaneously, "President York, hello, I’m Stella Grant, Manager of the Sutton Group’s project departnt."

Upon hearing the words Sutton Group, Hugh glanced up at Stella.

Stella naturally knew that ’Sutton Group’ was a good credential, continuing to smile, "I heard you have a project you’re considering selling; I wonder if we might have the opportunity to work with you."

Hugh, holding a wine glass, clinked glasses with Stella, revealing no real emotion, "Today is a private party; we don’t talk business."

Discussing projects should never be rushed.

Stella did not press too hard, returning a smile, "Okay, then today I’ll just take the chance to get familiar with you."

Otherwise, she could request a business trip to Portre.

Having seen many people persistently cling on, Stella’s balance was appreciated by Hugh, "You’re quite amusing."

Stella grinned, "I’m the one wasting your private ti, yet you didn’t show any attitude, speaking politely instead; that indeed gave face."

Hugh, "You’re very smart."

Stella gladly accepted, "Thank you for the complint."

Stella was in conversation with Hugh when suddenly the crowd beca lively.

The two turned their heads simultaneously; not far away, Charlotte Shelby appeared at the party in a white evening gown, arm in arm with Silas Sutton, looking bashfully shy.

Charlotte clutched Silas’s arm tightly, as if afraid he’d run away.

With his hands in his pockets, Silas exuded an air of aloof dignity with a hint of detachnt.

Hugh, "I rember Miss Shelby being your President Sutton’s fiancée?"
