Hearing Silas Sutton’s response, Stella Grant was montarily taken aback.

Why was he answering for Ben Lawson when she wasn’t even asking him?

Stella was half-drunk and couldn’t figure it out.

The atmosphere threatened to turn awkward, and then Sue Woods, also intoxicated, slamd the table and spoke up, "Stella wasn’t asking you, so why are you answering?"

The alcohol Ben Lawson brought didn’t seem strong initially, but it had a powerful aftereffect, causing Sue Woods to be quite drunk.

Seeing this, Ben Lawson coughed lightly to ease the tension, "Alright, let’s call it a night for the drinking."

He then nudged Silas Sutton, "Mr. Sutton, let’s head back."

Silas Sutton looked at Stella Grant, unmoving, his Adam’s apple moving subtly, "I’ll have a cup of tea before I leave."

When one man looks at another, it’s easy to see right through them, especially when they’ve been friends for years.

Silas Sutton clearly wasn’t there for tea; he was there for a certain ’soone.’

Matters of the heart were sothing Ben Lawson had never seriously dealt with, so he didn’t understand Silas Sutton’s current mindset, but as a brother, he knew what he should do.

Ben Lawson scratched his head, leaned in and helped the drunken Sue Woods beside him, "I’ll take you ho."

Sue Woods looked up at him with a puzzled expression before her eyes widened, "You want to pay damages?"

Ben Lawson said, "No, I’m taking you ho. My driver is downstairs, it’s on the way."

Sue Woods shook her head vigorously, "No need, I’m staying at Stella’s tonight."

Ben Lawson instinctively glanced at Silas Sutton, seeing his eyes fixed on Stella Grant, feeling overwheld, he quickly lifted Sue on his shoulder and ran.

Sue Woods struggled violently on Ben’s shoulder.

Ben Lawson gritted his teeth and bore it, changed his shoes, and didn’t forget to grab Sue Woods’ high heels before dashing out the door.

With the door closing with a ’bang’, the small apartnt sank into a piercing silence.

Silas Sutton was the first to speak, tugging his shirt collar lightly, and asked across the dining table, "Do you want so tea? It helps sober up."

Stella Grant was much like Sue Woods, the aftereffects of the alcohol made her dazed, and she belatedly asked, "Where’s Sue Woods?"

Silas Sutton walked toward the kitchen without changing expression, "She’s gone ho."

Stella Grant asked, "Wasn’t she drunk?"

Silas Sutton replied, "She was, but Ben’s driver is downstairs, conveniently taking her ho."

The so-called convenience was quite a stretch, from the south of the city to the north, covering all points.

Silas Sutton went into the kitchen, brewed so tea, and poured water, all familiar actions.

After a while, Silas Sutton ca out with two cups of tea, one handed to Stella Grant and the other for himself.

Stella Grant accepted it, rembered to thank him, took a sip, then suddenly thought of sothing and asked, "They’ve all gone, why haven’t you?"

The teacup was scorching in Silas Sutton’s hand, his deep-set eyes were inscrutable, "Why did you go to the police station today?"

The sudden question left Stella montarily blinking, her clouded mind prevented her from lying, "Flynn Shepherd’s mom blocked at the apartnt entrance today, splashed black dog blood on , so I called the police..."

Silas Sutton’s expression darkened upon hearing that.

Stella Grant, now dizzy, was naturally oblivious to his expression, took a few more sips, and added, "Oh, by the way, Flynn knows you’re my lover now."

Stella said that so casually that Silas Sutton couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow, "What?"

Stella Grant thought he hadn’t heard clearly and repeated, "Flynn knows you’re my lover now and he threatened ."

Normally, Silas Sutton would ask her what the threat was, but given the current atmosphere, he chuckled lightly and said, "Lover?"

Stella Grant looked at him, "Mistress?"

Silas Sutton suddenly laughed, "You can afford to keep as your mistress?"

Stella Grant t his eyes, feeling there was sothing enticing in them, she asked, "Is it expensive?"

Silas Sutton said, "Want to try?"

Stella Grant’s mind stalled, feeling sothing was amiss, but couldn’t pinpoint it, so she stayed silent.

When Silas Sutton pulled her onto his lap, her brows furrowed.

Their eyes t, Silas Sutton’s hand gently pressed down her neck, "Not hiding anymore?"

Stella Grant’s nose brushed against his, instinctively drawing in breath, "Silas Sutton."

Silas Sutton’s hand lightly squeezed the back of her neck, "Graduated from college and ran over to Veridia for what? Are you stupid? A lamb walking into a tiger’s den?"

Stella Grant’s lips moved, not fully grasping Silas Sutton’s words, breathing lightly.

Seeing this, Silas Sutton slightly tilted his head, kissed the corner of her lips, initially just a gentle taste, then proceeding to capture, standing up he carried her toward the sofa...
