It’s the rush hour after work right now.

Stella Grant and Silas Sutton locked eyes, and for a mont, she actually wanted to pretend not to know him.

Not for anything else, but because gossip, while seemingly harmless, can be quite damaging.

With just a few words, they can turn black into white, and drown you in their well-crafted narratives.

Just like this afternoon, she heard a lot of rumors about her and Silas Sutton at the company.

People below said she’s manipulative, using underhanded ans to climb up, erasing all her previous achievents in the industry.

The looks from above were inscrutable, not quite dismissive, but certainly intriguing.

To tell the truth, after spending so ti together, Stella knew Silas Sutton wasn’t so villain, and she acknowledged his kindness.

But no woman likes to be labeled as a ’mistress,’ and Stella was no exception.

The two of them locked eyes for a few seconds, and Silas saw her hesitation, lightly tugged his thin lips, and got into the car first.

A mont later, Stella’s phone vibrated in her hand.

Stella looked down; it was a ssage from Silas Sutton: "Where to first?"

Stella pressed her lips together, and for no reason, felt sothing soft in her heart.

After a mont, Stella started walking towards her car, replying to Silas’s ssage as she walked: "Ho to pick up so things."

Silas: "Should I go with you?"

Stella: "I can handle it myself."

Silas pretended not to see her reply: "Hmm, I’ll et you at your community gate."

Stella bent down to get into the car, and when she saw Silas’s ssage, her hand paused on the seatbelt.

Why ask when he’s already decided?

To show he’s a gentleman?

While Stella was pondering, Silas had already stepped on the gas and driven off.

Silas drove a sports car today, making quite a noise, and as the two cars passed each other, Stella was startled and glanced up.

They exchanged a brief look, Silas’s gaze was a bit cold.

On the way ho, Stella felt a little complicated.

To be honest, she wasn’t ready to move in with Silas Sutton.

She’s not stupid; she knows that once she moves in, sothing is bound to happen.

By now, she had to admit, albeit reluctantly, that her resistance to Silas Sutton was indeed very low, at most only twenty percent, even when she was trying hard.

But considering how many tis he’s helped her before, including this ti with the quick commission paynt, she felt it would be sowhat unfair for her to beco his weakness.

By the ti Stella arrived at the community, Silas’s car had already arrived ahead of her.

Stella got out and knocked on Silas’s car window and, when he rolled it down, frowned and asked, "Isn’t there really any other way?"

Silas had one hand on the steering wheel and was fiddling with his phone with the other. He didn’t tease her, responding straightforwardly, "No."

Stella paused for half a minute and asked, "Do you usually have guests over at your place?"

Silas, "Does Ben Lawson count?"

Stella, "What about others?"

Silas’s long fingers tapped lightly on the steering wheel, his thin lips quirking up teasingly, "Stella, what’s so wrong with that makes such a secret with you?"

Stella answered honestly, "It’s not you who is the secret, it’s ."

No official title, just the two of them living together, bumping into soone would be hard to explain, only bringing more trouble.

Stella chatted with Silas for a few more monts, confirming there was no room for discussion on the matter, then straightened up to go ho and pack her luggage.

Stella took the elevator upstairs, just got out of it, was about to grab her keys from her pocket, when suddenly a hand reached from behind, covering her mouth, and a greasy, sleazy voice said, "Don’t move, as long as you don’t resist, I guarantee you won’t get hurt..."
