Silas Sutton spoke with a serious expression, completely devoid of his usual frivolousness and playfulness.
Stella Grant t his gaze for a few seconds and quickly realized his intention, her red lips parted, "Wasn’t that person here to demand wages just now?"
Silas Sutton’s eyes were deep, and he didn’t hide anything from her, "They were here for wages, but soone was behind it."
Stella Grant was silent for a mont, then asked, "They were after you."
Silas Sutton, "Yes."
Stella Grant added, "Trying to use to force you to comply."
Silas Sutton admitted frankly, "That’s right."
Stella Grant didn’t know how to describe her current feelings.
She didn’t know what was going on with Silas Sutton, she only knew that she was already in trouble, and if she got involved with him, the trouble might get even bigger.
But things had reached this point, it seed it was no longer a question of whether she wanted to or not.
Unknowingly, she had already beco a pawn in this ga.
Stella Grant lowered her eyes in contemplation, her red lips slightly pursed.
Seeing her indecision, Silas Sutton bowed his head slightly, gently touching her forehead with his, coaxing her, "This matter has dragged you in, I promise, during this ti, I will absolutely not harm you."
Stella Grant raised her eyes, "President Sutton, say sothing I can believe."
Silas Sutton’s initially serious expression broke into a low laugh at Stella Grant’s words, "My credibility with you is already zero?"
Stella Grant, "No, it’s negative."
Silas Sutton raised an eyebrow lightly, deliberately misunderstanding her, "So intimate?"
Stella Grant was silent.
With Stella Grant not speaking, the atmosphere in the office froze.
Silas Sutton propped himself up slightly, gently pinching Stella Grant’s chin to make her look at him, "Stella, I didn’t want to drag you into this, but there’s no help for it, things have already co to this point."
Stella Grant sighed, "I don’t like trouble."
Silas Sutton replied calmly, "I’ll protect you."
Stella Grant thought of the complicated relationships of The Sutton Family and, without thinking, blurted out, "You’re already a ss yourself, how will you protect ?"
Silas Sutton, "With my life. If anyone wants to harm you, they’ll have to walk over my dead body first."
The confidence with which Silas Sutton said this left Stella Grant breathless.
It must be said, a man like Silas Sutton could easily capture a woman’s heart.
He had both social status and good looks, his sweet words flowing naturally, and he made it impossible to tell they were false.
No wonder so many won were willing to queue up for him.
The two locked eyes for a few seconds before Stella Grant averted her gaze, reaching out to push him, "Let think about it."
Noticing Stella Grant’s distraction, a subtle smile tugged at the corner of Silas Sutton’s lips as he stood up straight, his voice lazy, "Give an answer before you leave today."
Stella Grant agreed, "Hmm."
Silas Sutton, "Actually, you just need to be there. I have everything there, clothes, jewelry, I’ll arrange for soone to get them for you."
Stella Grant looked up at him, "President Sutton, I said I’d think about it, not that I’d agreed."
Silas Sutton’s thin lips curled into a smile, remaining unfazed, "I also just said, I’m informing you, not discussing with you."
Stella Grant, "Then why let consider anything?"
Silas Sutton’s long eyes sparkled with humor, his elegant fingers lightly tapping on her desk, "Consider what to bring, or, think about what you want for dinner, Aunt Adler is a good cook, you can ask for anything."
Stella Grant, "..."
Just as Stella Grant couldn’t think of how to rebut Silas Sutton, the office door was knocked from outside, and Peter Wright ca in with a stack of docunts, "Manager Grant, there are so papers that need your signature."
Seeing Silas Sutton, Peter Wright promptly called out to him, "President Sutton."
Silas Sutton nodded nonchalantly, acknowledging him.
Peter Wright walked to the desk with the stack of docunts and handed them over to Stella Grant.
Stella Grant accepted them and carefully reviewed them, signing her na once she confird there were no issues.
After signing, Peter Wright respectfully greeted both Silas Sutton and Stella Grant before leaving with the docunts.
Silas Sutton watched his back, leaned against the desk looking down at Stella Grant, as if reminding or just casually comnting, "Your assistant is quite interesting."
Outside, after leaving Stella Grant’s office, Peter Wright took out his phone and sent a ssage: President Sutton is in Stella Grant’s office.
