Ethan took the lead, stepping carefully through the glade. The ground beneath their feet felt soft, almost springy. As they progressed deeper, faint rustling sounds caught Ethan's attention. From between the crystalline bushes erged small, gelatinous creatures—slis, each glowing softly in various pastel hues.
"Here they co." Ethan eyed the slis that were sohow different than his slis. From a glance, he could see that these slis were all higher-leveled than his slis. Would they have so special abilities?
It did not matter. They might be level 20, but they were still slis. He did not hold back any longer and started summoning his minions one after the other.
The old hag had explained how this dungeon worked. There was no chance for anyone to notice what he was doing inside. It was ti to go all out and full-on minion crazy. First, the wolves ca out, then the demons and the insectoids, followed by the rats and the goblins.
In a mont, the entire dungeon was filled with all sorts of monsters. It looked like the slis were in the minority here, trying to clear the monster dungeon.
Lia and Luna gasped simultaneously, eyes wide as Ethan's legion of minions poured forth, swiftly forming ranks around their small group. Even though they'd seen Ethan summon before, they'd never witnessed it on such a massive scale.
Lia quickly composed herself and started casting buffs for everyone, while Luna gazed in pure wonder, excited rather than frightened.
The chaotic fight started instantly.
At first, the dungeon's slis paused montarily, seemingly confused by the sudden overwhelming presence of Ethan's army. But this hesitation was brief.
As if driven by so unseen instinct, they surged forward aggressively, colors shifting in their crystalline bodies as they launched attacks—sharp, hardened crystal spikes shot forth, each glistening with dangerous energy.
Wolves howled fiercely, charging ahead to intercept the incoming spikes, using their agility to dodge or absorb impacts, though so fell wounded. Goblins scrambled around the edges. The demons simply launched a full-on attack.
Ultimately, even though his minions received so attacks, the group ended up slaughtering the bunch of slis. Ethan managed to land a few hits and added so slis to his summoning list.
His mage class gaining levels helped in expanding his summoning capacity, but he had already filled it with lesser demons. Now he could only grab a few crystal slis before all the slots filled up.
Ethan checked his status screen, and his number of minions had reached a whopping 168. He sucked in a big breath of air and let it out. This was a crazy number, but the thing was all of them were quite weak.
Hopefully, these dungeons would fill up the appetite of his minion army.
Just as Ethan was mulling over things, his minions ran rampant in the dungeon and raided each and every corner of the forest. There was a boundary, a sort of barrier that marked the region of the dungeon, and everything within the region had been plundered.
"Okay…" Ethan swallowed, looking at the damage all around him.
Most importantly, most of his minions had gained a level. Everything happened in the span of ten minutes, which was aweso.
Naturally, they weren't going to leave just like that with all of these materials for taking. Ethan ordered all the demons and other bipedals to grab the loot. Hardened crystals from the sli ejections. They were quite sharp, so he assud they could be used in so equipnt forging.
Ethan quickly took out the clothes he had brought just for this purpose. All the crystals were carefully bundled up and packed up, and a few more minutes later, the group was ready to head out of the dungeon.
"Master, I saw so vendors outside where we can sell all this," Lia mumbled as he heaved a couple of bags. Ethan was dragging four, and Luna was dragging one. They had already left a pile of crystal shards untouched simply because they couldn't handle the load anymore.
"Do you think there is so sort of magic bag?" Ethan sighed. Gathering the loot was getting more and more tedious.
"Master, are you talking about the magic pouches? They are called storage pouches, and they cost more than 10 gold. I have never seen them. I have only heard of them."
"Hmmm… I wonder if we could farm these dungeons enough number of tis to save up for one." Ethan pondered aloud, already feeling excited about the possibilities.
The thought of not having to drag these heavy, cumberso sacks every ti they went dungeon-diving was highly appealing.
Lia's eyes sparkled at the idea, clearly sharing his enthusiasm. "Master, if every dungeon is as rewarding as this one, I'm sure we could afford it sooner than we expect!"
Ethan nodded. "Let's see. The first one wasn't too bad, but hopefully, the second one is tougher."
The three of them exited the dungeon. Instantly, their group attracted awkward stares from everyone. It did not take long for Ethan to realize that he had committed a blunder. No one else was dragging anything around. It was only the three of them, and it was very eye-catching. Not in a good way.
"Hey, country bumpkin, where did you co from? You don't even have a storage pouch with you?"
"What the heck? Are you guys really dragging everything by yourself?"
"Talk about stupidity. These days, they are just letting anyone into the academies."
Ethan ntally cursed himself. Of course, he hadn't considered sothing so basic. Even though he expected so scrutiny, he hadn't anticipated how quickly they'd draw unwanted attention. He should've planned better.
Before the mocking voices could draw more unwanted attention, Finn walked over to them.
"Here. Catch." He tossed a small bag towards Ethan.
Ethan instinctively caught the small bag in mid-air, feeling a strange ripple of mana emanating from it. He glanced down, realizing with surprise that it was exactly what he needed—a storage pouch.
Finn grinned broadly. "Don't worry about it. Consider it a loan."
