Ethan did not leave imdiately. He knew better than to do that by now. He sat down and created more talismans before he stepped out of the house again.

In the anti, he also kept an eye out for the recent developnts in the city. He was ready to run once again at the first signs of trouble. However, the trouble he was looking for never really arrived.

The guards were silent as they patrolled the city, and no special activity was detected. Even the investigation about the death of the guard seed to have been silenced for so reason. The rumors about the demons were squelched, and it was definitely business as usual in the city.

He had expected so sort of reaction at least, but instead, the city operated as if nothing had happened at all. It gave him an unsettling feeling. It was as if this whole thing wasn't over.

Logically, any group of cultists that was capable of bribing two city lords would definitely be simple. This was not the first ti they were doing this, and this wouldn't be the last.

They probably also wouldn't let this go so easily. Soone with enough power and influence to silence the entire city would definitely not sit still after Ethan disrupted their plans.

All the more reason for him to do so power leveling. It would be stupid to remain stuck in the lowest F rank when his class had so much potential.

Ethan double-checked his stack of talismans and his other preparations before setting out for the next trip. But before he could even leave the house, his two troublemakers pulled him back.

"Big brother, I am coming with you. I learned how to make more magic from grandma Agnes. I will help you, big brother. I will keep you safe. I am coming with you. I also want to fight with you." The little rascal wouldn't hear him at all.

Lia was equally stubborn and simply refused to let him go. "Master, I am your follower. I am part of your team. I am not staying behind."

Ethan sighed deeply, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration. Part of him wanted to scold the two girls and tell them firmly that this was no playground. But seeing the stubborn determination burning in both pairs of eyes, he knew it was useless to argue.

Instead, he knelt down to Luna's level and gently ruffled her hair. "Alright, alright, you can co along—but promise you'll stay close to . If things get dangerous, you follow my instructions exactly. No running off, no playing hero. Understood?"

Luna's face lit up imdiately, nodding energetically. "I promise, big brother!"

He then turned to Lia, who was already standing tall, eyes filled with resolve. Ethan smiled wryly, recognizing that Lia's presence might actually be beneficial. "And you," he said softly,

"I'm counting on your magic. But rember, we move carefully. No rushing into danger."

Lia gave a sharp, confident nod. "I understand, Master. I'll be careful."

Ethan stood up, glancing over at the old hag, who watched the scene with obvious amusent. The old hag cackled. "Just make sure they don't slow you down, boy."

Ethan chuckled despite himself. "They won't. Let's get moving."

Even though this wasn't safe, he did not want both of them to remain weak. In case sothing unexpected happened, they needed at least the strength to run away. Both of them had talent, and it would be rather idiotic if they sat in the house and did nothing about it. It was ti to change things up a bit.

With Lia and Luna close at his side, Ethan headed out into the bustling city streets. The old hag did not allow him to activate the token from inside the house. She said it would cause too much of a hassle and kicked the trio out.

So now the group was headed out the city to find an isolated spot. He thought about how far he had to go to actually find such a spot and then swiftly turned his direction, making a beeline for the fields. Those fields were mostly deserted and the perfect place for activating the teleportation token.

On the way, he purchased extra long robes for all three of them, robes that could fully cover their faces and identity. He also used disguise spells on Lia and Luna.

Lia's figure transford into a slightly stout woman who had red hair and a lot of pimples on her face. She clearly wasn't too pleased with the outco but had no complaints. The most problematic outco was for Luna.

No matter how many tis he tried, he simply couldn't change her appearance at all.

Ethan frowned deeply, staring at Luna in confusion. No matter how many tis he cast the disguise spell, her appearance stubbornly refused to change even slightly. Luna blinked innocently back at him, clearly unaware of the trouble this was causing him.

"Big brother, what's wrong?" Luna tilted her head curiously, touching her own face as if trying to figure out why Ethan looked so puzzled.

He sighed, shaking his head helplessly. "Nothing… I am too weak, I guess." First, the unusual talent in magic and now the resistance to disguise spell. This little girl was extrely mysterious.

He silently contemplated dropping her back in the house, but they were already here, and a part of him wanted to watch her grow strong. This world was full of people ready to take advantage of the weak and helpless. If it was his own sister, he would have wanted her to beco stronger.

The three soon reached the edge of the fields, and as expected, the coast was completely clear. Ethan let out a breath and took the token out. Then, without any further delay, he sent a sliver of mana into the token.

A brilliant surge of light burst forth from the token instantly, forming a swirling vortex of deep azure before them. Ethan glanced back at the two girls briefly, giving them a reassuring nod before gripping their hands tightly.

"Hold on and don't let go," he warned as they stepped forward, directly into the portal.
