"That would be correct under most circumstances; however, how am I supposed to enroll a student who I don't even know the na of." The man chuckled.
"I know. I was just kidding." Silas smiled and took out three crystals that he gave to the guards on the side, who quickly took them to so kind of artifact similar to the one they had seen in the other city.
These crystals weren't the fake ones that Silas had given to the last guards, but were the real ones with everyone's nas on them.
"Ga Evergreen... What an unusual na."
"That's what the all say." Silas chuckled while watching the man carefully.
He hadn't even touched the crystals, yet he instantly knew their nas.
Or, at least, he knew his na... His fake na... But still, it was quite impressive.
Silas could do the sa thing with his mystic eyes, but the man before him did not have such an ability... Or at least he didn't have an ability like that Silas could see.
The man before him could be a chosen human for all he knew.
'I wonder what his blessing is... If he even has one. Maybe he has so kind of artifact that allows him to analyze them instantly?' Silas thought to himself.
"These are not counterfeit, sir."
"Are you certain?" The man looked back with narrowed eyes.
"As certain as one could be, sir." The guard nodded.
"Well then, that's good. You may enter." The man turned around as a glass of wine appeared in his hand out of nowhere.
Without hesitation, all three began walking forward while taking their hoods off.
Alex walked in without a problem, and Silas did too, but when it ca to Nymira passing through the barrier, sothing happened.
The sound of Nymira's head slamming against the barrier let out a low sound that reverberated through the barrier.
Silas imdiately looked back with a weird expression, while Alex did not waste a second and imdiately pointed his staff at the man who was leading them inside.
"Calm down." Silas quickly lowered Alex's staff and looked at the man expectantly.
"You imbeciles! Did you forget to register her as a student?!" The man began to storm toward the guards, but one of the guards quickly stepped forward and explained.
"Sir, my n must have registered her the sa way they register any student. However, she's stronger than the barrier's second threshold." The captain of the guards explained in a calm voice.
"Are you saying-..."
"She's most likely in the orichalcum rank." The captain finished, causing the man to widen his eyes in slight shock. But, the shock was directed at Nymira.
His eyes slowly turned toward Silas, who stood there as if he didn't understand what was happening. Of course, he did understand, but it was usually better to play the idiot in front of people he didn't fully know yet.
"What's wrong?" Silas asked in a nonchalant tone.
"N-Nothing. I will take you straight to the academy myself." The man sighed before looking at one of the guards. "Fetch my butler and a carriage to the academy. Is that understood?"
"Yes, sir." The guard bowed slightly before rushing off the complete the man's commands.
It didn't take long for them to fix the problem, but eventually, Nymira could finally walk through the barrier.
"You okay?" Silas turned to Nymira.
"Yeah, I'm fine." She sighed while rubbing her forehead and nose.
The barrier was a lot harder than she had expected.
"Co here." Without asking, Silas pulled Nymira closer and tapped her forehead.
Instantly, a rune appeared on her forehead, and in the next second, the rune was gone, and so was the pain.
"You didn't have to heal . it was barely a small bump." Nymira spoke with a mock-angry tone; however, the wry smile on her face told another story.
Silas patted her head and smiled himself, yet in the end; he couldn't stop himself from pulling her cheek.
'Man, she's adorable... Maybe like a cat? A kitten? Still... Adorable.' Silas chuckled while Nymira slapped his hand away.
"Ahh... Youth. Must be nice." The man sighed under his breath before his eyes drifted to Alex, looking at them with a slightly agitated expression.
"Third wheel?" The man bumped Alex's shoulder, causing him to look over with an even more agitated expression. "Don't worry, I've been there." The man laughed.
"What?" Alex asked with confusion in his voice.
"It's okay. I can lend you my daughter's hand in marriage once you graduate. What do you think?" The man smiled at Alex, who was simply too dumbfounded to reply.
"I think that would be a great idea. I was worried Alex here would stay single until the day he died. I want to at least be a grandfather before I die." Silas' chid in from the side.
'If I die...'
"Ah... You toki users. I keep forgetting that you can hear from afar." The man sneered after choosing not to think about what Silas said. He felt like it would just give him a headache, so he imdiately threw it to the back of his mind.
"Are there no toki users here?" Silas asked with a raised brow.
"Of course there is. Why else would the academy accept you?" The man asked while looking at Silas like he was stupid.
"I don't know. I thought there might be so kind of segregation inside the academy." Silas shrugged.
"What?! This isn't the dark ages!"
'It is for .' Silas took a look around and sighed.
"Let's get going then. I don't have all day." The man sighed.
It didn't take them long to reach the road toward the academy; however, what Silas saw before him couldn't help but shock him.
There were hundreds of these so-called carriages, yet each one looked different from the other.
So looked like mana cores or crystals powered them, while others looked like they were powered by tad beasts.
The one they were about to go into was powered by a tad beast. It was a lion-like creature that was mostly white and orange in color. Unlike many of the other beasts on this 'railway,' it did not have wings, yet, from the pressure it was giving off alone, Silas knew that it was stronger than the spider-queen he fought when rescuing Syra, Nymira, Eclipse, and Alex.
Well... Saying 'fought' would be sowhat of an exaggeration, since that usually ant there was resistance from one side or another.
Besides that, the true shock happened when they entered the place.
"Bigger on the inside, huh..." Silas' eyes darted around as he studied all the runes in the room.
At the sa ti, a section of his brain could not help but recall a British tv show with similar technology.
"To think I'd live long enough to see dinsional engineering reach this level..."
"Stop gawking and sit down." The man pushed Silas aside before sitting down on a sofa.
The carriage itself was huge. That single room looked like it might have fit both floors of Nymira's house, excluding the training area.
It had everything from a bar and dining table to a living room and several bedrooms.
They all quickly sat down, and waited for a mont.
"My butler will soon drive us to the academy. The journey will take about half an hour." The man explained.
"With the strength of the beast, I thought it would have taken 2 minutes at most." Silas comnted.
Silas was sitting on the sa couch as him; however, it was clear that the action of sitting next to him alone was sothing the man did not like.
"I do not need to explain anything to you." The man sneered before turning to Alex and Nymira.
"How about you two? Do you drink?" He spoke with a gentle smile.
'What the fuck... Oh, wait. Ohhhh... Well, I guess that makes sense. He did seem like a little bit of an asshole when he first ca out, and from the way he treated those guards...' Silas' eyes slowly drifted toward the man before darting back at Nymira, who was currently glaring at him.
'I probably shouldn't kill people anymore. I've killed enough as it is. I should be repenting right now. But, I an... So of them deserved it, right? What kind of asshole puts in prison for dissecting a few assholes! Plus... They were already dead. What else should I have done? Let them be a waste of space like they have been for all those years they've lived? Ugh...'
