"You’re right, Captain. Let’s slay it and claim the rewards!" Rudos said grinning.

The five of them moved, until they ca to stop.

The Junior Blood Legion stood in silence before the clearing. The air was thicker here, suffused with an oppressive weight that pushed down on their bones. The trees around them weren’t rely cocooned anymore—they were crystallized husks, frozen mid-scream, as if life itself had been stolen from them. The ground was scarred with strange patterns that pulsed like veins, glowing faintly with distorted light.

And at the center of this nightmarish arena, she awaited.

The Chrysalis Empress.

Her form dwarfed even the Queen they had slain before. Nearly 70 ters tall, her carapace shimred like fractured glass, refracting the dim crimson sky into prismatic madness. Six colossal wings unfolded behind her, each one translucent yet heavy with power, like frozen rivers of ti. Her eyes—cold, endless, and ancient—glowed with a violet radiance that made the air shiver.

[ Dungeon Boss: Chrysalis Empress (Level 40) ]

Unique Authority: Ti Domain

Threat Level: Hell

The very mont they looked upon her, a suffocating force gripped their hearts. Ti itself felt unsteady, like the forest was no longer obeying the rules of the world. Their breaths ca slower, yet their hearts raced faster.

"F*ck! She’s... stronger than the Queen," Rudos whispered, his voice breaking. His staff trembled in his hands. "Can we defeat it?..."

Irina’s lips were pale, her bow shaking. "It doesn’t matter. We’ve co this far. We wil fight."

Venus swallowed hard, clenching her fists until blood dripped from her palms. "I won’t back down. Not now."

Felix forced a grin, though his eyes betrayed unease. "If we’re going to die, at least let’s make it loud."

Ryuzen stepped forward. His golden-slit eyes blazed, his aura flaring like a storm of frostfire. The fear pressing against them bent under his defiance. His voice rang clear, steady, resolute:

"Stay together, team. Don’t falter. We’ve beaten the impossible before—we’ll do it again."

"Swoosh!"

The Empress moved.

Her wings unfurled, and the world scread. Ti fractured.

The sky above twisted into a storm of shattered hours and broken seconds. The ground beneath their feet warped, patches of soil turning to dust, then reforming as if reality itself was looping.

The Junior Blood Legion staggered, their bodies slow, their movents disjointed.

And then the Empress struck.

"Rumble!"

A ripple of violet light erupted from her body, and ti around them slowed to a crawl. Her colossal legs slamd down, each step impossibly fast from her perspective, impossibly slow from theirs. Irina loosed an arrow—but it hung in the air, frozen mid-flight, while the Empress’ mandibles cut through it like mist.

"Move—!" Ryuzen roared, shoving Venus aside just before a massive claw swept down. The blow struck him instead, launching him into the ground with an earth-shattering impact. "Booom!"

"Ryu!" Venus scread, but her voice felt like it was dragged through despair.

"Screech!"

The Empress reared back, unleashing a wave of elental fury—firestorms, glaciers, venomous clouds, and bolts of lightning—all cascading in perfect, impossible synchrony. Ti bent around the attack, making escape futile.

Rudos slamd his staff down, screaming through bloodied lips. "Shield Of Gaia!" A desperate skill, a flickering do of green energy, ford around them. It blocked so of the storm, but the rest tore through, searing their flesh, freezing their bones, burning lungs with poison.

"Arghh!" Felix’s body was cut open across the chest, blood pouring freely.

"Bzzzt!" Venus was slamd aside by a lightning arc, her leg snapping at an unnatural angle.

Irina’s bow shattered, shards embedding into her hands.

Still, Ryuzen stood.

His body cracked with frostfire energy, his claws blazing with Solar Cryo fla. His roar split the warped battlefield, shaking even the Empress. He charged, Mist Phantom Steps flickering in impossible angles as he forced himself through broken ti.

"Eclipse Cataclysmic Roar!"

The beam of annihilation tore through the battlefield, colliding with her head in an explosion that lit up the twisted sky.

"BOOOM!"

For a heartbeat, it seed like it worked. The Empress reeled, her carapace cracking, shards falling like glass rain.

But then her wings pulsed.

Ti reversed.

The cracks healed. The battlefield rewound. Their desperate blows were undone as if they had never happened.

"No... she can reverse ti!" Ryuzen whispered, his golden eyes wide in shock.

The Empress shrieked, and ti lurched again. Her claw blurred, piercing Ryuzen’s chest before he could dodge. His body slamd into the ground, blood spraying, his skin torn.

"Captain!" the others scread.

"Ryu, I’m coming!" Venus dragged herself up, fire bursting from her broken fists. She struck, screaming with fury, but her blow slowed midair, caught in the tide of ti. The Empress’ mandibles closed around her arm, crushing it until bone snapped.

Irina staggered forward, tears in her eyes, loosing a final arrow with her bleeding hands. It never reached. The Empress twisted ti again, and the arrow disintegrated into dust.

Felix charged in desperation, blood blades slashing wildly. The Empress froze him mid-step, her claw sweeping across his body. His scream echoed as he was hurled like a ragdoll into the forest.

Rudos tried one last spell, pouring all his mana into healing light, but the Empress’ gaze locked on him. Ti around him fractured, his chant unraveling into broken syllables that slipped out of existence. He fell to his knees, coughing blood.

And in the center of it all, Ryuzen dragged himself to his feet. His body was broken, blood streaming, but his golden eyes still burned with defiance.

"You won’t break . Not today ..."

He raised his claw for one last strike. Frostfire blazed, his aura flaring like a sun about to collapse. But before he could unleash it, the Empress’ wings pulsed once more.

Ti stopped.

And her claw tore through him.

Darkness swallowed everything.

When the world reford, the Junior Blood Legion lay scattered across the ground, their bodies broken and bloodied. The Empress towered above them, untouched, her violet eyes gleaming with cold finality.

The dungeon’s runic gate flared, recognizing their defeat. Their battered forms were forcefully ejected from the Chrysalis Forest, their screams echoing until they were spat out into the real world.

The silence outside was deafening.

Venus lay unconscious, her arm twisted unnaturally. Felix coughed blood, his body torn and bruised. Irina wept silently, clutching her broken bow. Rudos leaned on his shattered staff, trembling with despair.

And Ryuzen—he knelt in the dirt, his chest heaving, blood dripping from his lips. His golden eyes stared at the horizon, hollow with rage and humiliation.

They had lost.

For the first ti.

And the weight of that loss pressed heavier than any dungeon.
