Chapter 50: "It’s ti to repay the debt"

The gorilla was already halfway toward Zhu Rong when a small round object streaked through the air like a bullet,
and before he could even realize what it was, it struck him square in the face.
BOOOOM!
The entire forest shook as a deafening explosion echoed far and wide.
Nearly a mile away, Liang Yuexin, who had just arrived at the scene of the incident,
felt the shockwave and her expression darkened as she shot toward that part of the forest.
She had been the closest to the location when the distress signal was sent out, and in less than a minute, she had reached the site of the incident.
From the traces of spiritual energy left behind, she could imdiately tell a third stage beast had been here,
and the mont she realized it, her face tightened.
She spread out her spiritual sense to scan the area and soon detected two presences moving in the opposite direction.
She figured they must have been here when the incident happened, but the direction they were heading wasn’t the sa as the distress signal.
The ergency token released a specific signal that the instructors’ talismans could continuously track,
and it was clear to her that the person who activated it was sowhere else.
She was just about to head there when a sudden explosion rang out, unleashing violent spiritual energy.
The mont it hit her, her expression darkened even more.
"Just what is going on here?"
This sudden turn of events left her completely baffled, but she didn’t waste a second and darted through the forest toward the signal’s location.
She could tell the explosion had gone off nearby, so she moved swiftly through the trees.
With her speed, it didn’t take long to reach the injured student’s position, and the mont she checked his condition, her expression grew grim, though a bit relieved.
"He’s badly hurt, but he’s not going to die."
She muttered as she pulled a small bottle out of nowhere and made him drink it.
The wounds on his body quickly began to heal, visibly closing up.
Within a few seconds, she could already see his condition improving a lot.
She found his token and sent out another signal with it.
After that, she left the student on the branch, now mostly recovered,
and darted off in the direction of the explosion.
She had already made sure soone would co to retrieve the student.
Now that he was no longer in critical danger, she had to go check out the situation where the explosion happened.
She didn’t know why but she had a bad feeling about it.

The area where the explosion happened was unrecognizable.
The tall, thick trees of the forest, once dense and towering, now lay toppled or reduced to charred husks.
Broken trunks, dust hanging in the air, and scattered branches created a scene of utter devastation.
At the very center, a crater nearly ten ters wide split the earth, the soil cracked and blackened around its edges.
In the middle of it lay a mangled, twisted figure, unmoving.
It was the beast.
Its massive body was battered, covered in burns and deep gashes.
Its right shoulder and arm were completely gone, as if the blast had directly hit that spot,
vaporizing it.
All that remained was a deford ss of charred flesh and congealed blood.
The only sign of life left was the beast’s ragged, labored breathing.
Each breath was a harsh, broken rasp, barely piercing through the heavy silence of the ruined clearing.
Though still alive, the beast was completely drained of strength, its bleeding open wounds continuing to drain what little energy it still had.
Amidst that devastation, footsteps rang out.
An approaching shadow soon appeared at the edge of the crater.
It was Zhu Rong.
His face was marked with dust and sweat, several shallow cuts tracing his arms and sides, but he was still standing.
His clothes were torn and scorched in places, but he didn’t seem to care as he stared down, expression unreadable, at the center of the crater.
He reached the edge and looked over the scene for a mont, his eyes dark and cold.
"Tch..." He clicked his tongue.
"To think I had to use a second stage core like this... what a waste."
A bitter smirk crossed his face before it vanished.
His gaze lingered on the beast’s barely recognizable face for a mont longer, looking at what remained of the once terrifying creature.
then he reached into his backpack.
Soon, he pulled out what looked like an ordinary hamr.
It wasn’t an elegant weapon, nor a refined spiritual artifact.
It was a simple hamr, its wooden handle worn smooth with age, and its steel head decorated by faint, engraved patterns.
Zhu Rong stared at it for a mont, then took a breath and poured the last of his spiritual Qi into it.
A dim blue glow wrapped around the tal as the hidden circuits within lit up.
He took a step forward toward the beast, his eyes never leaving its ruined figure.
Then raising the hamr high above his head, a crazed grin spread across his face.
"Ti for you to pay back for my losses."
And without hesitation, he brought the hamr crashing down.
BOOM!
The blow sent another tremor through the ground, cracking the earth beneath the beast even further.
The poor creature, which had only monts before been wheezing faintly, now fell completely still,
no longer showing the slightest sign of life.
Zhu Rong didn’t bother checking twice.
With a calm, steady expression, he rummaged through the beast’s remains until his hand closed around sothing.
A faintly glowing, greyish black sphere,
a third stage beast core.
It was noticeably larger than the one he’d used before.
Just as he wiped it clean, a rustling sound ca from behind.
Without hurrying, he slipped the core into his backpack and slowly turned to face the person who had arrived.
"You sure took your ti,"
