The moonlight filtered through the stained-glass windows of their small ho as the celebration night ca to a quiet close. Hestia sat at the edge of the couch, still a little buzzed but more sobered than before, her eyes locked on Ethan who was now drying his hair with a towel.
Ethan raised a brow. "You’ve been staring since we got back. Sothing on your mind?"
Hestia hesitated, then sighed, folding her arms. "Yeah. That girl. Syr."
He paused for a mont, his expression unreadable. "...What about her?"
"I don’t like her," Hestia said bluntly. "There’s sothing off about her."
Ethan leaned back against the wall. "You jealous?"
Her face flushed. "O-Of course not, dummy! I just... I don’t know. It’s a gut feeling." Her voice dropped slightly. "I’ve seen a lot of people. Mortals and gods alike. I can tell when soone’s hiding sothing. And that girl... she’s not who she pretends to be."
Ethan lowered the towel slowly. Her words struck a chord—because deep down, he had felt the sa unease. Syr’s eyes. That eerie calm. The way she always knew too much.
"...Alright," he said. "I’ll be careful."
Hestia looked at him, surprised for a second. "You believe ?"
He smirked. "You’ve been right more than once. And... yeah, she creeps out a little."
Hestia’s lips curled into a soft, relieved smile. "Good. Just promise —don’t let your guard down around her."
"Got it," he nodded.
Before either of them could say more, the sound of the front door creaked open—without a knock.
Both turned sharply.
"Oh~? I didn’t expect you to be here, Loli."
That sing-song, teasing voice carried through the hall like a bell—playful but dangerous.
Hestia’s eye twitched. "L-Loki?!"
And right behind her, tall figures began stepping into view—mbers of the Loki Familia.
Ais Wallenstein.
Bete Loga.
Finn Deimne.
Ethan stood still, the air shifting with sudden tension as Loki walked in with a mischievous grin plastered across her face.
"Well, well~ Looks like we just walked into sothing real interesting."
