"Don’t tell you both beca an item or sothing??"
Zar gave no response.
One would assu the sa thing would happen to Valley Master Yu, but for so reason, a blush ford as she averted her erratically flickering gaze.
"Hm?" Pri Xue Qing had been joking, but seeing her dramatic reaction, she threw an accusatory glare at Zar.
"What is it?"
"Nothing, humph!"
"???"
Looking between the two won, Zar’s mind drew scribbles. Even with his cultivation in the 4th Layer of Void Crossing, he was still unable to halfway understand what they were thinking.
Did they like him or not? Even he was confused now...
Eventually, he sighed and resud his traught. Passing by Pri Xue Qing, he received a kick to the shin, which he responded to with a wry smile.
Valley Master Yu noted this occurrence, bringing back that sa suspicious glare from earlier. She caught up to him but pretended to dignifiedly ignore him by looking the other way.
Speaking while matching his pace like that, she asked, "You and Hua Ling have been getting along well as of late, huh?"
"I suppose so," replied Zar. ’Fortunately, she isn’t yet aware that I’ve been sneaking out every so often to et with Yu Yu. I figured she’d be angrier if she knew that I’ve been frequently interacting with a woman who she wasn’t already familiar with.’
Staring with a scrutinizing glint, Valley Master Yu questioned him about the ’goofy grin’ he was making. She and her feminine instincts sohow knew that he was hiding sothing, which scared Zar a little.
Mysterious powers stemming from the illogical were what kept him up at night!
Luckily, he had beco accustod to getting himself out of sticky verbal conversations like this one. And with a little smooth-talking, he easily changed the subject.
Pri Xue Qing caught up to them at so point, still asking where they were going off to so early in the morning. This led to Zar catering to both of them, trying to distract one from the tragic situation of her father while preoccupying the other with promises he might be capable of keeping.
As for why he was working so hard to make sure they were both happy... well, he didn’t really know himself, to be honest.
More than most things, Zar hated Therians. It was in his blood. In his nature.
However, the more ti he spent around so of the ones he was closest with, the more he felt that clingy innate hatred slip away. It was as if its inseparable grip was slowly but surely freeing itself from him.
"Emotion Response: Sensors 302–480 begin to overload, following the lead of the ones that ca before. Godling #8777 is elevated from (3★) to (4★) Deviant status!"
"Huh, what was that just now?" Zar looked around in confusion, cupping the areas around his ears. "I could’ve sworn..."
"What is it, Master?" Alter Xue Qing asked in a concerned tone. "It isn’t Qi Deviation, is it!?"
"No, no, nothing like that..." Zar shook his head, passing off what he heard as no more than an Inner Heart Demon. "I think I really do need to get out more."
Taking their chance at this proclamation, Alter Xue Qing and Valley Master Yu spoke in sync, saying, "I can go out with you more often if you want, Master/Disciple."
They instantly looked at each other, causing sparks to fly.
It had been like this ever since Zar brought Xue Qing back to the Carefree dicine Valley to be his first-ever Official Disciple. And it was unlikely the fierce competition between the two Xue Qings and Valley Master Yu would ever change.
’Thata girl!’ Pri Xue Qing cheered her alternate personality on. ’You have to fight for what you want, and conquering a strong, competent man like that sly bastard is as good a boon as any to strive for!’
After spending a dozen odd years around him, Pri Xue Qing realized he was not just a supre genius—he was a monstrous freak whose talent level had likely never before been seen in the Elental Nations!
Having him as a consort wouldn’t be so bad for their future, now would it?
Perhaps with his help, Pri Xue Qing could not only restore her cultivation but also create a separate body for Alter Xue Qing to inhabit!
While everyone’s thoughts churned in different directions, soone with an incomparable level of cultivation watched from a hidden dinsion located within the Blazing Sun Sect—one that even the Sect Leader knew not about.
"Godling #8777," the mysterious figure covered in shadows smirked from the hidden dinsion. "What a truly interesting existence. He might just end up being the one that we’ve been searching for."
But only ti would tell...
— Elsewhere —
"Hmm?"
Looking over a pile of folders, female Inner Elder Lu saw that soone had actually rejected a direct promotion to the Inner Sect with honors. This Inner Elder was seated atop a cultivation mat that overlooked a vast, seemingly endless expanse of picturesque scenery. Hundreds of cultivators at and below the Nascent Soul Realm flew about, conversing and interacting with one another.
However, more eye-catching than all that was the folder held within Inner Elder Lu’s fair hands—a very atypical one.
"This fellow... he actually has the support of Core Elder Ye Xuan, and yet still chose to deny further promotions for now under the pretense of bettering himself and his cultivation?" she mused. "He has even requested several dicine Valleys in exchange for Sect Contributions that he’s acquired over tens of years selling grown high-rank Spiritual Plants to the Sect..."
Observing his current Sect Contributions amount, Inner Elder Lu’s eyes grew round.
Even she didn’t have so much!
"To amass this amount of Sect Contributions, that young lad must’ve been receiving assistance from Core Elder Ye Xuan," she said in exasperation. "It does state here that he occasionally sells Rank 7 and even Rank 8 Spiritual Plants, which further proves my theory. I do, however, wonder what it is soone so high up in the Sect sees in a man with seemingly ordinary talent and prospects."
’Perhaps I should go et him myself.’
