Chapter 917: Chapter 825: Too Clever By Half

The two black carriages stopped in front of the orange three-story villa in the south of Brussels.

Perna, dressed in a uniform, stepped down from the carriage, her polished boots tapping urgently on the gravel path.

She clenched the letter in her pocket, her brow furrowed, praying constantly in her heart: Jesus, please don’t let anything have happened to His Highness.

But when she saw the Prince’s Guards around all looking calm, she instantly breathed a sigh of relief.

It seed that His Highness was probably fine; otherwise, chaos would have erupted here long ago.

Then what on earth was the matter?

She recalled the content of the letter, roughly stating that a significant event would occur tonight at the Crown Prince’s temporary residence in Room 203, and she must co, or she would regret it.

The letter had been delivered by a soldier in the afternoon, but the sender was unknown.

After reading the letter, Perna hurried over without delay.

The guards outside, seeing that it was Perna, stood at attention to salute her, allowing her to proceed directly into the villa.

Perna walked a few steps, then suddenly turned back to ask an officer of the Imperial Guard: “Lieutenant Crue, is everything all right with His Highness today?”

“Yes, Miss Perna. His Highness should be bathing at this mont.”

Perna was a little surprised: “Are you sure nothing’s wrong?”

“I’m quite sure.”

“Thank you.” Perna continued upstairs, passing between the soldiers stationed on the southern side of the second floor and entering the misty hallway.

At the corner of the corridor on the other side, Veronique watched her impressive figure, a smug smile on her face.

Soon, the drama would begin.

She laughed wildly in her heart, the brutal showdown between the Crown Prince’s Chief Mistress and the new favorite!

It would surely be cataclysmic, even with storms of betrayal.

“Curse and bite, the more intense, the better. Turn into loathso shrews!” she murmured dreamily, “It would be best if so scars could be left on your pretty faces, and then, I’ll be the most beautiful woman by the Prince’s side!”

Perna arrived outside Room 203, just about to push the door when she heard the Prince’s voice inside, “You, what are you doing here?”

Then Callia’s voice responded, “Ah… Your Highness, how did you… suddenly co in?”

Perna imdiately halted, a flash of surprise in her big eyes, but it quickly turned into a reassuring smile.

“Callia, blessings to you…”

She silently muttered in her heart, then gently stepped back two steps, turned, and left without the slightest hesitation.

Upon leaving the corridor, she seed to rember sothing, turned back, and softly said to the guards of the Imperial Guard, “Please don’t tell His Highness I ca by tonight.”

The guards exchanged glances and nodded one after another.

They had been with the Crown Prince for a long ti and naturally knew Perna’s identity, so this small matter was easily granted to her wishes.

On the other side of the corridor, Veronique’s smile had turned into shock and disbelief.

“How, how is this possible? She actually just left?”

Her hands were trembling.

She had carefully set the scene for so long, finally creating an almost perfect situation, just waiting for the volcanic eruption at that mont.

Yet, that woman had calmly left?

She was so close, she must have heard the commotion inside, but why didn’t she rush in to question the maid?

At the very least, she should have waited outside the room to malignantly humiliate her after the Prince ca out.

Why?

Why did it end up like this?!

Veronique ran a few steps to the window, watching as Perna’s carriage disappeared into the night, finally enraged, she kicked the wall hard, her mouth opening in a silent scream of pain.

How could she have known that Perna and Callia had already had a heartfelt conversation at Notre Da de Paris, blessing each other?

At this mont, although Perna might feel a hint of jealousy, as long as it was the Crown Prince’s desire, she would have no complaints. Indeed, she was happy for Callia’s love…

Inside Room 203.

Joseph stood dumbfounded for a mont, then hurriedly turned away: “Sorry, I’ll leave imdiately.”

But Callia stepped out of the water, her cheeks flushed, chasing after him.

Joseph felt dizzy, taking a few steps to the door and turning the handle.

The door, however, did not open.

He turned it a few more tis, but still no movent.

It seed the lock was stuck.

He was about to call soone to open the door from outside, when he suddenly felt sothing wrap around his waist, and a soft presence behind him.

He looked down to see a pair of slender, pale arms, flawless like a masterpiece Michelangelo had refined hundreds of tis.

“Uh…”

“Your Highness,” Callia whispered nervously, “do you, do you not want anymore?”

Joseph’s mind went blank, wanting to say “I don’t rember ever wanting you,” but then he heard the gentle voice of the girl behind him, “After you kissed on the ship, my heart has forever belonged to you…”

Joseph instinctively replied, “That ti, it was to save you.”

Callia revealed a blissful smile and nodded, “Mm, a life-saving kiss.”

As she spoke, she gently turned the Prince’s body around.

Joseph felt a wave of heat through his body, his heart racing, and his hand involuntarily left the door handle.

Then, he let that perfect little hand spin him around.

Before him appeared the most beautiful picture in the world.

Beauty that would put even Venus to sha.

Beauty that made the candlelight in the room quiver slightly.

As a young man almost of age, Joseph was long bereft of all other thoughts, drawing that exquisite beauty into his embrace along the arm.

The Maid closed her light purple beautiful eyes tightly, leaned forward again, her voice like a warbling oriole: “Your Highness, I love you…”

The candle flas, as if encouraged, suddenly rose significantly, squeezing the figures in the room together, after which the fla’s core jumped violently up and down.

Not far away, ripples suddenly appeared in the bathtub, as if singing happily in happiness, or as if lting into the misty night…

The next day, Veronique, pale-faced, stood holding the Prince’s clothes outside his chamber, watching the girl, as if newly reborn, poke her head out of the covers and give her a grateful smile.

Joseph too was awakened by the sunlight streaming through the window, lazily kissing Callia’s tender and pretty face.
