Chapter 736: Chapter 362: Turmoil, Awakening_2

Brian was sound asleep, so Susan had no choice but to rush to the guest room to share the news with her father, Dean.

..

Outside the guest room.

Shi San had already heard Susan’s movent.

Seeing Susan approaching,

it wagged its tail and happily said, “Susan, you’re awake.”

Susan nodded, “Yeah, Shi San, is my father resting inside?”

Shi San nodded, “Yeah, but your father’s scent is strange, different from before, not as scary to dogs anymore.”

“Why are you guarding here then?”

Susan knocked on the door and casually said,

“The big dog asked to guard…”

Susan finally realized sothing was wrong.

Her father, a Third Rank Life, why would he need Shi San guarding him?

Definitely sothing had happened!

After a few seconds,

seeing no response from inside the room, Susan didn’t hesitate anymore and pushed the door open.

Inside, Dean’s complexion was rosy and he was sleeping deeply.

Susan pulled back the duvet, saw no external injuries on Dean, and finally sighed in relief.

He could breathe, had no external injuries, and looked fairly well, probably nothing was wrong.

But…

Susan had just advanced, and being a Heart Beastification person like Dean, she could faintly feel that the similar scent between her and Dean was gone, which was probably why it looked odd, missing the previous linked scent.

“No wonder Shi San said Dad’s scent was off…”

Susan frowned, returned to the master bedroom, and had originally planned to wake the soundly sleeping Brian to inquire.

But when she saw Brian’s face, the idea faded.

Brian was so lethargically asleep, probably exhausted from guarding her these past days, she decided not to bother him. After all, her father seed to be alright, she could ask later…

Susan convinced herself not to disturb Brian.

She couldn’t help but hug Brian and nibble him a few tis before taking out her phone, silencing it, and turning on the computer.

..

Susan wasn’t particularly smart, but she wasn’t dumb either.

Since Brian had asked her not to show herself, she’d obey.

While waiting for the computer to boot, she browsed her phone.

There were quite a few missed calls, and seven or eight text ssages.

So from a close girlfriend, so from her mother Nell, and so from group mbers…

Susan first opened her mother’s ssages.

The text was just a bunch of gibberish.

Seeing the gibberish, Susan’s brow furrowed slightly.

This was a family code, which translated to her having already followed Brian’s instructions, taking the family’s core mbers to the safe house, no need to worry.

“What exactly happened while I was asleep? Is it such a hassle?”

Susan sent a ssage back to her mother before continuing to check her girlfriend’s ssages.

Her girlfriend Caroline had sent many ssages.

“Susan, why aren’t you answering the phone? Ahh, it’s crazy, monsters attacked the NW headquarters, it’s a huge commotion, I could hear the vibrations from fifty or sixty kiloters away, it’s terrifying!”

“Susan? Baby, call back when you see this!”

“God, I hope you’re alright…”

..

There were many more.

Every once in a while, she sent a ssage, continuing until this morning.

It was clear, Caroline hadn’t slept all night.

She also tried to co to the villa to find Susan, but was stopped by the urgent guards sent by the family and was taken back to the family to be locked up, not allowed to go out at this ti.

The most recent ssage, just about fifteen minutes ago.

Explosive content:

“Susan, please.

Could you reply to a ssage!

I’m so worried about you!

That damn Brian is also unreachable.

I called your family, but they didn’t know the situation there.

Your mother’s phone is also unreachable.

Ahh!

I’m going insane!!!

My father told today, right before NW headquarters was attacked, spy satellites captured your father being attacked.

Damn it, you mustn’t have any trouble!

Susan, I can’t live without you…”

And more mushy words followed.

There were also a lot of complaints about Brian.

Basically, Brian had stolen her Susan, yet hadn’t taken good care of her Susan, a most heinous cri.

Susan:..

So mushy.

Being confessed to by a close girlfriend, it felt strange.

But Susan didn’t dislike it.

She could feel Caroline’s concern.

Through the information revealed by Caroline, Susan roughly pieced together last night’s events: her father was attacked, it was a big commotion, got fild, NW headquarters was then attacked, the attackers were now untraceable, the area was surrounded by military, in the middle of urgent rescue, but the underground base was too deep, making excavation difficult, the rescue situation was still unclear..

Had Susan not seen her father Dean, sleeping soundly in the guest room with her own eyes, she would have been as restless as Caroline.

Luckily her father was fine.

Looking at the situation, Brian must have brought her father back.

The two of them sleeping so deeply might an they had encountered other problems in between.

After thinking a bit, Susan called Caroline back.

Caroline was happy, yet sowhat embarrassed.

After all, so of her ssages were quite embarrassing.

Facing a chatty Caroline, Susan didn’t reveal much information, rely saying she would visit her in a few days and asked her to stay at ho and not go out these next days.

After hanging up the phone.

Susan checked so other group ssages and calls, quickly replying to them.

After handling these,

she finally had ti to log into NW headquarters’ internal network.

Thank God.

The internal network hadn’t been cut off.

But the situation wasn’t too good.

Many colleagues were buried deep in the ground, a hundred ters deep.

At this mont, the entire base had beco a live coffin, individually isolating everyone.
