Chapter 704: Chapter 351: The Right Way to Solve a Runaway Problem

“You, you, you…”

Staring at Brian holding his boss, a Third Rank Mutant – Old White, like a chicken in his hands, the burly old man’s speech quivered.

Under extre joy or sorrow, the body often can’t keep up with the mind.

And that’s the state the burly old man found himself in.

Brian found it amusing.

He flung the middle-aged man in his hand, “What, what, what’s wrong with ?”

Slap—

The burly old man gave himself a slap, finally regaining his articulate speech, “I’m not dreaming, am I? You… you really are Brian, Billy’s nephew???”

Brian shrugged. “Yes, it’s , you’re not dreaming.”

The burly old man gasped.

He pointed at the ferocious-looking middle-aged man in Brian’s hand, “Do you know who he is? My organization’s boss! A Third Rank Mutant Life! Ordinary people can’t even break through his Life Magnetism, yet you… you’re actually grabbing his neck right now, it feels like I’m dreaming…”

It was hard for the burly old man to accept what was before his eyes.

Too fake.

It’s like the kid next door, who just a while ago was playing with urine and mud, shaping dirt dolls, and you co back from a trip to find the kid has solved a world-class physics problem and won the Nobel Prize…

This isn’t a dream, not a hallucination, then what?

Too fake!

Ti passed.

In the basent of the villa.

The burly old man finally accepted reality.

The reason was simple.

With red eyes and having lost control, Old White, after being punched and kicked by Brian, was now hugging his head, squatting obediently in the corner, motionless, without a trace of the unbridled defiance of a Mutant whose powers had gone haywire.

Brian handed a cup of boiled water to the burly old man, “Don’t worry about him; with here, he won’t be able to turn the heavens upside down. Burly old man, tell what’s going on now. I’ll help if I can, and if I can’t, I’ll make proper arrangents for you.”

He was now in a position to speak such words.

The burly old man nodded.

He drank all the water from the cup in one gulp, combed through his thoughts, and pointed to the middle-aged man crouched with his head in his arms, sowhat conflicted:

“Brian, this is my boss.

You can call him Old White.

Old White has been teetering on the edge of losing control, stuck in a deep sleep, when a madman found him.

That person wanted to employ him to use his special abilities to breed offspring for his descendants, but Old White feared he would lose control if he used his powers and refused the request, ending up nearly killed by the lunatic’s punches…”

As he spoke, a touch of sorrow appeared on the burly old man’s face:

“Old White is a friend I knew from my ti practicing spiritual cultivation.

He was originally a reclusive ascetic.

Kind-hearted and benevolent.

He helped many people and counselled many others.

He fought against invaders, he went bald.

He witnessed many horrific events and saved nurous lives.

Seeing too many dark things troubled his mind.

After the Blood Moon descended,

Old White beca one of the first to be mutated by the radiation.

Later, as the country recovered, Old White returned to the mountains.

But eventually, he was dragged back into the spotlight by those he had once helped…”

It was the first ti Brian had seen the burly old man in this state.

He did not interrupt, just listened on the side.

He was always kind to those who had helped him.

Older people love to reminisce.

Scattered throughout, the old man recounted many past events.

A bit here, a bit there.

Brian didn’t understand most of it but listened all the sa.

After the outpouring, the burly old man returned to reality.

He gave Brian an embarrassed smile, his mood somber:

“Sorry, I got carried away with my age.

Over the years, I have personally seen off too many old comrades.

Old White is the last one.

After he’s gone, I’ll really be a lonely old man in this world.

Old White turned out this way primarily because he overused his abilities to help his brothers in the organization grow.

His ability is very special and easily affected by ntal contamination.

If not for the rest of the group, he could have had a comfortable life…”

The burly old man sighed, no longer dwelling on it.

He walked over to the crouching Old White, then said to Brian, “Enough talking, Brian, could you arrange for a cremation vehicle to co here?”

Hearing this, Brian was taken aback, “A cremation vehicle?”

He didn’t understand the burly old man’s intention, “Why do you need that thing?”

There actually was such a thing in Los Angeles.

A cremation vehicle is essentially a large van or truck modified with a small incinerator in the back, equipped with oil spray gear, a smoke vent that can be closed at the top, and an oxygen inlet to assist combustion.

This equipnt is usually used by pet companies to provide on-site pet cremations.

Of course, sotis it also plays a role in the disposal of ‘garbage’ for so grey-area businesses.

The burly old man was not in a good mood right then.

He shook his head, not offering an explanation, “Don’t ask. If it’s inconvenient for you, just keep an eye on Old White for while I arrange for one to co…”

Seeing his resolute attitude, Brian nodded, “Alright, I don’t have a cremation vehicle, but will this do?”

He waved his hand.

A thick tarp in a corner of the basent ca loose, revealing a wood chipper beneath.

The burly old man was perplexed.

He looked at the wood chipper, then at Brian, pursing his lips.

A wood chipper is nothing strange.

But what was that cleaning equipnt next to the wood chipper for?

What about that pipe connected to the septic tank?

Who keeps such things in their basent?

Aren’t you now a governnt official?
