"Is that it?"
Green held his rifle, sowhat dumbfounded.
He had anticipated a major battle.
Everyone had also expected so powerful group of mutants to stir up trouble.
For which they had made quite a few preparations.
But the result...
Were you that easy to beat? Don’t you appreciate how seriously we took you?
The others mostly felt the sa as Green.
It was such an anticlimax.
Only Ivan enjoyed himself for a bit.
Susan wasn’t surprised at all, "The danger of mutants lies in their stealth, but once exposed, they lack the kind of early warning abilities. When they face an official crackdown, they’re basically on a dead-end street, not to ntion the high likelihood that they were clueless ordinary people before the mutation, with no sense of vigilance, hiding in an unprotected open rural farm."
Having said that, she yawned and looked at Brian, "Coming over to my place tonight?"
Brian looked at the few little red balls rising in the room and shook his head, "You head back with Linda and Shi San. The boys and I will handle the scene here."
As an Autopsy Officer, he wouldn’t forget his duties.
Won are nothing compared to the dead bursting with obsession.
Susan glared at Brian, huffily took her female apprentice Linda, and Shi San, and left.
This guy hadn’t paid his dues in days.
Not sure if it’s an illusion.
Susan felt she had less vitality in her workouts recently, and her skin wasn’t as good as it had been a few days ago.
Before Shi San left, he barked at the sky.

Under the cover of clouds, a huge figure streaked across the night sky, following along.
This was atball.
It had also joined the operation.
Unfortunately, it hadn’t been needed.

It wasn’t until Susan had left the scene that the rest dared to speak up.
Ivan patted Brian on the shoulder, "Buddy, the team leader seems angry."
"Won, you know, they all have those few days every month..."
Brian didn’t care much and just went through the motions of examining the bodies.
The first was that invisible bandaged woman.
Invisibility, huh!
Even though it seed like just optical invisibility, Brian really needed it now.
Without optical invisibility, it was inconvenient for him to fly around, for fear that he might be inadvertently snapped by spy satellites above, exposing his powers.
This thing triggers a chain reaction.
Once exposed, even Brian’s underwear would be stripped clean, not to ntion revealing the fact that he was a mutant.
He didn’t dare risk what would happen next.
The battle was brief, just a formality, but the drop rate wasn’t low.
Four people had yielded three obsessions.
The only one who hadn’t burst out with obsession was the woman curled up on the ground.
The opponent was probably totally lost in consciousness, dying too suddenly to feel anything.
Seeing Brian busy, the rest of the group began to search the house for anything useful.
The only one who didn’t move was Green.
He was following Brian with a body bag, anwhile assessing the people who nearly killed him.
As he did so, Green couldn’t help but feel jealous, "This guy’s got one hell of a life, following around three won, probably hasn’t had it bad."
Having extracted the last Obsession Little Ball, Brian left the scene to Green, "Having too many won is not necessarily a good thing. Their complex relationships can give you a headache. Stop talking and pack up quickly, then contact the Umbrella Company to co and take these away."
At those words, Green quickened his pace in packing.
The saying goes, ’don’t let a good thing go to waste.’
Now, the criminals and mutants caught by the surrounding police districts are basically handed over to Brian’s Umbrella Company.
Brian wasn’t short on cash and certainly wouldn’t cheat his own people. Generous with paynt.
It made the local patrols much ’gentler’ lately. They’d hit the limbs of serious offenders if possible. After conviction, a transfer ant the criminals didn’t even have a chance for bail before showing up in the material jails of the Umbrella Company.
...
Half an hour later.
A helicopter landed and took away the four packaged corpses.
Old Hardenn did so quick math, "Even if these four are just low-level mutants, one body is worth a hundred thousand US dollars, four are worth four hundred thousand, heheh..."
Four hundred thousand to be split among so many didn’t amount to much.
But you can’t deny it’s extra inco, and they hadn’t had to make much effort.
"Alright, let’s pack up and head back.
We have a day off tomorrow, you should exercise more if you get the chance.
Once my departnt is set up, there will be a scout camp.
If you or your relatives have kids of the right age, you can send them over. After training, they’ll get a free injection of the full set of Soldier Enhancent Reagents."
Brian saw everyone was in good spirits and gave them another piece of good news.
Everyone was even happier at this.

Even as employees of the NW Action Division, they still weren’t entitled to it.
It was exclusive to the Ard Division personnel.
But not a happy prospect.
Usually, in dangerous situations, these ard division soldiers were the ones in front. High casualty rates, long service terms.
Brian was different.
They were his people.
And his own people certainly wouldn’t cheat each other!
Even single guys like Ivan and Glenn were very happy to hear the news.
Although they were bachelors, they still had family.
Humans are collective animals that crave a sense of belonging.
Such an opportunity was sothing to brag about!
The happiest of all was Old Hardenn.
