359: Chapter 224 Malice, A Bet_2 359: Chapter 224 Malice, A Bet_2 “Autopsy Officer Brian, since you’ve managed to get here, you must be soone in the know.

Our world underwent so changes a few decades ago.

I haven’t stepped into that circle, but having been a police officer for many years, I’ve encountered one or two of those twisted cases and have so understanding.

I feared this case was abnormal, so I reported it to the Flory County Police Departnt.

They took it seriously and sent support forces and a leading investigator from the CD organization right away.

CD stands for ‘Crocodile’, which is the departnt that handles special cases throughout Florida.

They have branches in every county and major city and are a group of professionals.

Under the leadership of that investigator, the team, better prepared this ti, re-entered the area to search.

This ti, we lost two more people.

Just like the last ti, only after everyone returned did we discover people were missing.

The missing included the CD investigator sent over, while the other was my last partner…”

At this point, Chief Flory’s face showed pain.

They were old partners for many years, and now all were gone, leaving only himself.

Brian’s focus, however, was on this Crocodile organization.

Crocodile, as in the crocodile organization.

This organization should be similar to the local NW organization, although its strength remains unknown.

But it probably can’t compare to NW.

After all, the NW organization, backed by the entire Los Angeles city group, is substantial in capital and internationally well-regarded.

Actually, Brian had found it strange even before he set out.

According to his understanding, nearly every state in the Federation has its special organizations, and so more chaotic states have more than one.

Even if the NW organization was to carry out special missions, they should be assisting other smaller organizations in California.

So why send him over three thousand kiloters away to Orlando?

After a few more drags of nicotine, Chief Flory coughed twice before continuing:

“This ti, with a CD investigator missing, the Flory County Police Departnt is very concerned and has sent a team equipped with a large amount of advanced equipnt and heavy weapons.

They completely sealed off the area and conducted a thorough search.

As a result, apart from driving away so hidden crocodiles and unexpectedly capturing two fugitives lurking in that area, they found nothing.

The eerie pattern occurred again, and two more persons disappeared, both leading CD investigators.

The process was the sa as the previous two tis.

Even though everyone was on guard this ti, with basic communication towers constructed and constant personnel roll calls, when we returned to the temporary camp, people were still missing.

The surveillance footage showed two people entering the camp, but by the eting ti, those two investigators were gone.

There’s are only just over twenty people in the CD division in Flory County.

They too beca fearful, sealing off the area and calling for reinforcents.”

Speaking of which, Chief Flory cast a sowhat strange look at Brian:

“My rank isn’t high enough; I only found out today that an investigator from Los Angeles ca to help us with this case.

I don’t know what those people from CD are thinking, but I hope to resolve this matter quickly and restore the town’s forr peace.

What I an is, if you also feel sothing’s off, you might as well leave sooner rather than later, to avoid adding another na to the missing persons list.”

He is not an insider, yet he knows that Brian’s arrival here is out of the ordinary.

Special organizations are not like the FBI, with offices across the Federation and investigators often handling cases across states.

These organizations also cannot escape the special nature of federal regional and political structures.

There is not so much harmony between states.

Brian glanced at the crowd appearing in front of him, smiled, and changed the subject: “Chief Flory, based on Shara’s description, I thought you were the one in charge of the case.”

Chief Flory shook his head: “Shara is the daughter of a friend of mine; she doesn’t even know the truth about this world, and I haven’t let her know the real situation of the case, so she must be under so misconception.”

He glanced at the crowd that was drawing near, threw his cigarette butt to the ground to stamp it out, and sighed as he lowered his voice:

“I get the feeling that the CD people don’t take your arrival very seriously, or else they wouldn’t have left it to to be in charge of welcoming you.

From my years of experience, you might have offended soone in your own organization and have been set up; these organizations often have their internal dealings.

In my youth, I often encountered such disgusting incidents where people betrayed and killed their own kind.”

Brian just smiled and didn’t say anything.

He wasn’t stupid; he had sensed sothing was wrong before he left.

Not lashing out just ant it was like before, allowing those corrupt cops to shoot at him—waiting for the enemy to make a move before he could justify taking drastic action against his own people.

Without drastic action, how could he rightfully and legitimately eliminate his own people?

Without elimination, how could he clear enough of the profit chain for himself and then rise in ranks quickly?

To take what you want, you must first give.

Brian’s current ‘giving’ was to pretend to be unaware, willingly stepping into the dangers laid out by the enemy, becoming a victim first, and then demanding ‘compensation’ from the organization when he returned.

It didn’t matter who the enemy was.

In Brian’s eyes, the adversary was already a dead man.

The only difference was how much benefit the other party could bring to him.

As for Chief Flory…

Brian wouldn’t naively harbor goodwill just because of his warning.

We’ll just wait and see.

In the midst of their conversation.

Under the lead of Chief Flory, the two had reached a temporary camp by the lake.
