(5700 words ga chapter, two-in-one)_3 After ensuring that this guy would be left with enough psychological trauma,
Brian nonchalantly pulled out his gun, wiped off his saliva from Ahd’s body, stood up to reload, and looked towards the woman next to Ahd, “Tell , what are you doing here?”
The woman calmly said,
“Ahd received a ssage.
You captured the poisoner.
Your team leader Susan, along with the perpetrator and headquarters’ mbers, went to the site of poison production and isn’t at the office.
So, under his assistant’s advice, Ahd deliberately ca here causing trouble, planning to use you to threaten Susan and split so of the credit with him.”
The people behind the woman, revealing their purpose, felt a bit embarrassed as they picked up their guns and massaged their hands, but none of them cared about Ahd on the ground.
It was obvious.
They had almost no sense of belonging towards their new leader, Ahd.
Brian looked at the woman sowhat surprised, “You’re quite frank.”
“It’s the truth, but still, thank you for the complint.”
For the first ti the woman cracked a smile,
“Ahd is stupid, and the assistant he brought is both dumb and repulsive.
Being led by such people is irresponsible towards our lives.
We originally wanted to overthrow him through team leader Susan’s intervention, but we didn’t expect your B6 team to have soone as ruthless as you.”
At this, Brian was a tad speechless.
This ss sounded like a clueless second-generation rich boy, under the equally stupid advice of an assistant, committing such a foolhardy act.
The only reason Brian dared to be so arrogant was because this place was the B6 team’s workspace.
There were codes to follow.
Unless soone from NW internal affairs ca with a signed warrant,
no one else dared to cause trouble here as they had the right to retaliate.
As long as no lives were lost, it wouldn’t count as a significant incident.
From this, it was clear that the seasoned operatives of team A1 genuinely disliked the newly appointed Ahd to not forewarn him of these unwritten rules.
Because unless Susan, the leader of B6, decided to not take action,
even if Ahd had influential family, he would still face an inquiry from NW internal affairs and wouldn’t be able to stay in NW.
…
“Alright.”
Brian holstered his gun, “Where’s Ahd’s assistant?”
The woman pointed towards the door of the team leader’s office behind Brian, “He was the first to make a move, and your tall colleague threw him into the office.”
Ivan wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, “Had I known you guys were just putting on a show, I would’ve drawn my gun and killed that foul-mouthed bastard too!”
He and Glenn, they hadn’t faced such a situation before.
If it weren’t for old Hardenn and female colleague Edna being there, they would’ve drawn their guns much earlier!
“Alright then!” Brian looked at the ssy office, picked up a coffee from a desk, and sowhat impatiently went over to the unconscious Ahd, splashing the coffee on Ahd’s bloody cheek.
Under the stimulus of the drink,
Ahd was painfully roused to consciousness.
He first swept his gaze around in a daze and when his eyes t Brian’s, he frantically scuttled back, clumsily climbing up from the floor to hide behind his subordinates, “Don’t kill , don’t kill , I’ll talk…”
Due to a big hole in his mouth, his words were slurred.
Brian shrugged, wiping off the blood spattered on his face, and spoke in a calm tone, “Captain Ahd, you’re mistaken.
We’re all civilized people here, why would we kill our own?
I was rely using so excessive ans to advise you that smoking is harmful to your health.”
“I’m sorry, I was wrong, I won’t smoke again, my mouth hurts, I need to see a doctor!”
Seeing that Brian had no intention of continuing his assault, Ahd, covering his wound, wanted to flee the place, and couldn’t care less about even his confidant’s life or death.
“Wait a second!”
Brian stopped Ahd who was trying to escape.
Ahd was terrified by Brian’s previous crazy actions.
He didn’t dare to gamble on aggravating a madman as to whether he could leave alive, and could only obediently turn back, enduring the fear and sharp pain in his cheek.
Brian walked towards Ahd.
As he passed by,
Ahd’s subordinates quickly cleared a path.
Looking up at Brian, who was a head taller than he was and staring down at him, Ahd felt his recently uncontrollable bladder about to give way again.
He didn’t even dare to continue making eye contact with Brian, letting the fresh blood run down onto the collar of his expensive handmade suit, and trembled, “Is there anything else?”
“Being polite is important,” Brian emitted his Biological Field, enveloping Ahd, and flashed a benevolent smile, “When soone advises you against smoking, say ‘thank you.'”
In an instant,
Ahd felt as if an invisible hand was clenching his heart.
He stupidly said, “Thank you.”
“Good,” Brian nodded, “Go see a doctor, and next ti, don’t smoke so arrogantly on soone else’s turf.”
Not until Brian had walked away
did a thoroughly frightened Ahd, spurred by his subordinates, vacantly and chanically depart the premises.
…
“Brian, are your gun skills really this good?”
The recovering Glenn, his face swollen like a pig’s, watched blankly on the monitor as Brian accurately shot the handguns out of fifteen n’s hands, as if witnessing a divine act.
He prided himself on his shooting skills being top-notch in the police force.
But compared to Brian’s skills, his were like a child playing with a water pistol, not worth ntioning.
Ivan and old Hardenn nodded in agreent.
Though Brian had often been at the shooting range, accurate though slow, he had never demonstrated his real-ti gun skills in front of them during combat.
Brian shrugged, “Can’t help it, a man might be poor at everything else, but he absolutely can’t be poor in gun skills.”
The two exchanged glances and burst out laughing.
Along with naive clerk Edna, old foxes Hardenn and Ivan also joined in the laughter.
After several incidents,
This newly established group for just over a month finally had so cohesion.
…
anwhile,
Susan, a bit distracted and conflicted about how to confront Brian later, walked out of the parking lot.
Her emotions were complex.
Shocked and elated, with a hint of bashfulness.
Shocked because headquarters confird that the man Brian had caught was indeed the poisoner.
The suspect was initially a bird trainer in a circus, but he concocted this revenge sche after his father was killed by a drug-addicted robber.
He aid to kill all drug addicts in Los Angeles!
Unfortunately, he encountered Brian, a formidable opponent, otherwise even if caught later, many drug addicts and innocent people would have died from Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
This averted a major disaster.
The B6 task force, fortunate amidst misfortune, received comndation from headquarters.
Team Leader Susan was also likely to earn the NW Action Departnt’s Annual Best Team Leader title, a credential promising future advancent.
Although Susan wasn’t concerned about titles, she still felt a bit proud of the achievent.
Only…
Whenever Susan thought about Brian’s previous ntion of a kiss, she felt a bit…
How could this damn guy be so formidable, actually catching the elusive murderer overnight!
Thinking of returning to find a man and his dog sleeping soundly on the office couch,
Susan admitted, she was moved.
She touched the oral cleaning spray she had purposely bought on her way back, took a deep breath, and decided to assert her dominance in front of her male subordinates later, not letting go of the face as the team leader!
Just then,
A group with strange expressions, escorting a man with stiff movents and a big hole on his face, walked towards the parking lot.
As the two parties t,
Susan’s eyes narrowed, her hand already touching the handle of the revolver at her waist: “Ahd, what are you doing appearing on my turf?”
Aside from a confidant standing next to Ahd, his face bruised, the group tactfully stepped back, letting Ahd and his aide through.
Ahd:…
At this mont, he felt utterly helpless.
