"Wouldn't that be pretty much disappointing?"

Kairen tilted his head to the side.
"I can't understand what you an."
"Hmmm!"
Reynold leaned back and rested his back on a pile of rock. He glanced at Daniel and then at Kairen. With his eyebrows raised, he seed to be considering if it was ok if Daniel also heard their conversation. As if understanding this, the middle-aged Daniel took a step back.
"I can co back at another ti."
Without waiting for an answer, Daniel turned around and walked out of the room. After he was gone, Reynold once again looked at Kairen.
"If I'd saved that brother of yours, aning if I'd pulled him up from the gate, he would've never crossed worlds and would've never co to where you lived."
"...I know that! A lot of things would've changed if Ron didn't co to that world, I'm aware of that."
Kairen crossed his arms.
"But this can't be that you purposely allowed him to be dragged inside the gate only so that he could co to where I was!"
"Why can't it be?"
"Huh?"
Kairen let out a stupid found voice at Reynold's imdiate answer.
"Why can't I do such a thing what's wrong with that?"

Well, it was not like he couldn't do it, and there wasn't anything wrong with it, but it felt strange to Kairen.
"Do you an you seriously made my brother cross worlds only so that he'd co to find ?"
"Yeah."

Kairen stared at the man with a blank face. He'd expected there to be a deeply hidden goal or sothing like that behind the man's actions, but it turned out to be the whole opposite. Kairen's hopes were once again shattered, just like how all his theories about the mysterious white jewelry turned out to be wrong when he got to know the truth.
Pushing all his thoughts to the back of his mind, Kairen asked another question from Reynold, who seed to be willing to answer his questions properly for the first ti.
"But why would you do that?"
"Personal reasons."
"...Alright, how did you even know about what Ron was doing and why were you there at that mont? Were you just passing by?"
"Also personal reasons."
"Hey!"
Apparently, Reynold still hadn't changed his way of ssing up with Kairen.
"The whole thing is about ! How is that a personal reason for YOU?"
"That is also personal and I can't tell it right now."
"Youuuu!!"
Kairen grabbed a nearby rock and aid at the man's head, but barely managed to hold himself back from throwing it right at his face.
"So frustrating! Go get so help man you are the most annoying creature I've ever t!"
Huffing, Kairen moved back once again and leaned against the wall.
"Every question is answered in a vague way! Alright! Keep all of those answers to yourself and take them to your grave!"
He was still waving the stone in his hand.
"Don't answer any questions! I won't ask any either! Stupid weirdo! Who knows what the fuck he'd done with that I keep hearing weird noises all of a sudden! This fucking man's voice keeps playing in my head again and again, and he says it's personal! He's made delusional just like himself! Alright alright, don't answer! Keep in the dark! I won't fucking talk to you again!"

Kairen threw the stone to the ground and rubbed his temples. Faint voices were whispering to his ears from all directions once again.
"...."
Reynold was silent the whole ti while being cursed and criticized. His brows wrinkled slightly upon seeing Kairen rub his temples with a pained face. The man's posture changed while Kairen was throwing a fit. He was leaning forward with his hands clasped, lips tightly pressing on each other. After observing Kairen for a while, he voiced sothing in a faint mumble.
"...Knowing a lot will affect your current life."
"Huh?", Kairen retorted with a scowl. "Isn't my current life already affected?"
The red-haired man nodded his head, his lips tightly pursed. Once again, he observed the young boy before his eyes.
'He won't do anything stupid this ti.', That was what he concluded after thinking things through. 'He has a proper life now.'
The man's pupils were deep and dark. He seed to be lost in his thoughts or distant mories. The whole area was silent for a few minutes before Reynold once again began to talk.
"There is a contract of Fate."
Kairen turned his wandering gaze back to Reynold.
"It's connected to your soul and anything related to that. One side of the contract is , so I'll know if anything happens to those under the contract's condition. The contractor is Fate, who has all the knowledge in the universe. It has placed a mark on the soul and so individuals relating to it and accepted to interfere with the flow of events when the situation around those who are marked is not favorable. It'll either inform , interfere with Threads of Fate, or use other thods to change the flow of events."
Reynold glanced at the bewildered Kairen for a second before continuing.
"You've seen the Threads of Fate before. They don't always try to save the marked individual but work in a way that the flow of Fate has the best outco. That's why when you were falling down the building before the explosion, the threads pulled your brother up but didn't help you, probably because your 'death' would bring more benefits than you being saved.
That's also how you were pulled out of your world. Gray light is a symbol of Fate, you must've seen it. Probably because you were in grave danger, Fate has decided to move you to another place.
There is also a Child of Fate beside you. It's also an arrangent of Fate. I'm not really sure about what he wants to achieve by that, but it's probably a way to monitor you better. The child must be quite fond of you, most likely because he feels the mark of Fate on your soul.
And your brother's case was also similar. I was inford of his actions through the contract and ca to his side. Fate didn't interfere with this even personally, it might be because your brother wasn't the main goal of the contract or maybe he wanted to leave things to . Either case, it was up to to decide on your brother's fate this ti, and I decided to send him to you.
I thought he wouldn't last long in his original world even if he was saved. He'd probably attempt similar things again, and I wouldn't be able to save him all the ti."
After the last word was spoken, Reynold closed his mouth shut as if he was done explaining everything. He was staring at the floor all the ti and didn't glance at Kairen even after he was done talking.
"Ah?"
And Kairen was left blank from all the information he received.
