879: Chapter 879: The Guys Outside High Tower (Major Chapter for Monthly Votes) 879: Chapter 879: The Guys Outside High Tower (Major Chapter for Monthly Votes) The flowing wind blew across the verdant grass leaves, the old-fashioned train ca to a stop hovering above the flowing stream.

He Ao opened the train door and stepped out.

A wolf-like creature that was lurking nearby suddenly leaped out, biting at his body, and then he casually punched through it, tossing it among the green grass and shattered stones below.

The surrounding creatures that had been watching intently slowly curled up and bowed their heads.

He Ao’s gaze did not fall on these creatures but instead looked toward the desolate city at the horizon.

Through the haze, he could still make out the rusty robots moving between the cities.

This was his second visit to the Relic.

It seed as though the civilization of the Relic had been destroyed for hundreds of years, yet the ‘traces’ they left behind—those dazzling technological creations—were still functioning normally.

The man-made sun brought brilliance and energy to this land, allowing the life that remained on this planet to continue to thrive, while the ‘Creator’ who had made it all had long since passed away.

And just as He Ao was staring at the sky, in the depths of the firmant, twisted clouds began to erge slowly.

A trembling pressure appeared from the end of his field of view and spread continuously towards He Ao’s location.

He Ao lifted his hand, and an object that flickered between paper and ash materialized in his grasp.

Echo of the Bygone Days.

This object seed to be an extension of the massive ‘Relic of the Bygone Days,’ and by activating its strength, it could open a passage to the Relic of the Bygone Days following the connection to it.

He Ao watched the Echo of the Bygone Days in his hand, watched as it rged into the invisible ‘connection’ in the void.

Then he instantly activated all the power of the object in his hand.

At that mont, the scenery in his field of view gradually changed, the ‘world’ around him began to twist and transform.

Hills turned flat, the abandoned green grass turned into deep forests, flowing streams beca smooth highways, and speeding automobiles instantly ca from afar, passing through his body.

He Ao lifted his head to look ahead, where the bright sunlight shined through the gaps in the dense forest onto the new and prosperous skyscrapers in the distance.

Everything was so full of vitality.

It was as if he had returned to the most prosperous ti of this planet.

‘The Relic of the Bygone Days.’

In terms of mysticism, the one closest to the ‘Relic of the Bygone Days’ created by that background existence was naturally the real relic.

Looking at the situation in the Main World, the Echo of the Bygone Days should have been the initial object sent into the ritual as ‘sacrifices.’

Those first ‘disappeared’ in the Yika Republic, after entering the ritual, beca the initial ‘absorbers,’ providing the first ‘guidance’ for the Advent of the Relic of the Bygone Days, and that is why there is now the event of the Blood Sun.

Although after the ergence of the Blood Sun, the ritual no longer needed the Echo of the Bygone Days to provide ‘sacrifices,’ it was obvious that the connection between the Echo of the Bygone Days and the entire ritual had not been severed.

So now, in a sense, the Echo of the Bygone Days was one of the ‘backdoors’ to the entire ritual, and He Ao’s entry into the ritual through it should also be ‘in accordance with the rules of the ritual.’

He Ao looked at the road ahead.

Under the influence of the Eye of Truth, the entire space’s lines unfolded in his gaze.

This ti the passage was clearly much more solid than the one he had used last ti, and the energy lines beside him were much more stable, it seed that drawing nearer in Mysticism was indeed effective.

But these structures still seed to be ‘unstable.’

He Ao withdrew his gaze, gripping the Echo of the Bygone Days, he took a step forward.

The world around him didn’t collapse as he lifted his foot, but just as he stepped forward, an invisible eye embedded within the inverted triangle sketched itself out in the void behind him.

In that instant, the ‘world’ in He Ao’s field of view shattered and reford into that twisted wasteland.

He Ao glanced briefly at the Echo of the Bygone Days, now ash in his hand.

The passage remained fractured, but this ti it was not because it couldn’t bear He Ao’s might—it had been burst open by the Eye of Truth.

The Eye of Truth was now following He Ao, concealed in the void, but it still existed beside him.

The real ruins and the mysticism of the ‘Relic of the Bygone Days’ should have been the shortest distance apart.

Theoretically, the passage here should have been the most stable, but even the most stable passage couldn’t withstand an Angelic Tier strength.

It seed the power behind the scenes didn’t impose ‘restrictions’ on this backdoor completely; the threshold of the passage bore an upper limit, which also restricted the ‘hierarchy’ of those who could pass through this door.

It was like a strongman weighing two hundred pounds trying to squeeze through a doorway only twenty centiters wide.

However, this setup itself was problematic—the stability of the passage was based on normal space.

What if the space there was abnormal?

The Relic of the Bygone Days seed to be a complete replica of the ruins from a certain period in the past.

Would that also replicate the Angels that existed during that ti in the ruins?

Even if the Angels weren’t replicated, what about the regions where Angels existed?

For a Higher Being, even re involvent with objects related to them could increase the relevance of their mysticism—does this imply a stronger interference and a closer mystical distance?

There might have been a place where Angelic Tier entities potentially existed before the ruin’s civilization was destroyed.

He Ao turned back, looking over his shoulder.

At the edge of his vision, a towering High Tower, reaching into the clouds, was reflected in his pitch-black pupils.

Just as he turned around, the space around him flickered; the previously bright sky suddenly dimd.

The entire world seed draped with a layer of grey mist, a cold wind brushed against He Ao’s face, as the swaying grass hysterically thrashed in the howling gale.

A mouse that had just erged from the ground retreated back into the earth, creatures moving on the land imdiately prostrated themselves.

Terrifying pressure spread through the invisible air into every corner of the surroundings.

The Velora floating in the air also shook violently at this mont.

He Ao looked up at the sky.

Above him, a crimson crown, composed of countless intricate patterns, was slowly erging from the dark void.

Endless pressure spread from the pattern, twisted thoughts rose in He Ao’s mind, urging him to submit, to bow down, to obey it.

As if the crown in the sky was the leader of all Life, a Monarch whose offense was unimaginable.

Indeed, he had encountered an ‘old acquaintance.’

Almost the instant He Ao’s gaze landed on that crown in the sky, an illusion extended from it, congealing into a massive vertical eye with yellowish whites and a deep reddish-brown pupil.

Then, nurous smaller eyes burst forth from this giant eye, forming a vast ring, circling rapidly around the central eye.

The colossal illusion spun in the sky, its terrifying pressure pouring down like a flood, washing over every inch of land beneath it.

He Ao blinked and observed it all, reaching out to touch the shaking Velora behind him.

What he was looking at was a projection of an ‘Angel’.

An ‘Angel’ He Ao had once dealt with.

In fact, it was this Angel who had sent the Velora to the ‘Main World,’ and the Control Array inscribed on the Velora’s front was also directed at this Angel.

Previously, although He Ao had guessed the coordinates of the relic after the ti trip on the Navigator, he had not gone to the relic for two reasons:

One was that the journey was too long.

Without Angelic Tier acceleration, it would take at least several months for the Velora to reach this coordinate, and He Ao could not be sure that nothing significant would happen in the Main World during these months.

Indeed, the incident of Newland City-State occurred shortly thereafter, with too many uncontrollable factors.

The second reason was that at the ti, he didn’t possess enough power to confront the forr ‘master’ of the Velora.

After all, the other party had always been in the ruins, and the mont He Ao arrived there on the Velora, due to the past connection with the spacecraft, there was a high chance the Angel would detect the Velora.

A few thousand kiloters was not a great distance for an Angel.

If He Ao couldn’t handle him, there was a possibility he would never make it back.

He Ao’s previous plan was to coax Li Cheng over to provide the acceleration energy and incidentally act as a bodyguard if he himself never attained Angelic Tier strength.

Of course, the situation was different now.

He Ao raised his head and looked at the ‘illusion’ in the sky.

This was actually just a Power Projection of that Angel.

However, to be exact, He Ao had just arrived at the relic.

Although he had contemplated many things, in reality, he had rely operated the chanism to open the passageway to the ‘Relic of the Bygone Days.’

In such a short ti span, the Angel’s actual body was not yet capable of reaching He Ao’s current location.

In fear that He Ao would flee on the Velora, he first sent a Power Projection over.

The terrifying pressure from the sky almost incessantly surged towards He Ao’s body.

The last ti he encountered this Angel, the displayed power was to make one ‘submit’ and be utilized, controlling others’ minds and thereby their actions.

However, that ti the force had traversed the vast expanse of ti and space to the Main World, resulting in most of its strength being diminished.

What He Ao was facing now was a complete ‘Power Projection,’ and the Angel’s body was nearby, frantically sending strength to its projection while rushing over.

This ti, however, it didn’t strike at He Ao first; the twisted pressure almost instantaneously filled all the surrounding space.

The entire world seed to freeze at this mont, with even the space itself submitting to that illusion in the sky.

He Ao attempted to drive the Velora, but discovered that the surrounding space seed to bear a certain ‘hostility’ towards him and the Velora.

The space, which could usually be breached effortlessly, had beco unnervingly difficult.

This seed to be so kind of thod to ‘blockade’ space.

Then, a twisted fluctuation spread out from the illusion in the sky.

The monsters, which had been groveling due to the appearance of the illusion, began to distort and swell up terribly.

Thoughts of ‘submission’ and ‘prostration’ surged from the depths of He Ao’s mind, relentlessly assaulting his psyche, and accompanying these desires for ‘submission’ welling up from deep within, He Ao felt so form of ‘alteration’ happening to his own body.

As if hindered, his control over his body experienced a certain ‘stiffness.’ It seed as if his limbs, his fingers, his entire body, were gradually slipping from the control of his brain, submitting to another great ‘Monarch.’

Subsequently, the Velora behind He Ao began to sway uncontrollably, and while He Ao could still feel his ‘control’ over the Velora, at the sa ti, it seed to be gradually ‘controlled’ by another entity.

This was He Ao’s first ti, engaging in direct close-quarters combat with a true Angel.

Feeling everything that was happening around his body, He Ao slightly closed his eyes, and then suddenly opened them.

The orange-gray ring nested in the middle of his eyes suddenly lit up.

That invisible eye erged behind him, then lifted its gaze to the fluttering illusions in the sky.

Countless densely intertwined lines appeared in He Ao’s field of view, most of these lines were tinged with so inexplicable ‘red’ radiance.

And with that, He Ao himself was enveloped by this red radiance.

Deconstruction!

Without any hesitation, He Ao directly applied the power of the Eye of Truth to this red brilliance.

Blood almost instantly covered He Ao’s body, and in his vision, those layers of twisted brilliance shattered like lifting dust in this instant.

The monsters that had been swelling and rushing towards the Velora on the ground stopped their advance in that instant, then disappeared from the world bit by bit, as if erased by an eraser.

The howling winds of the entire world seed to quiet down at this mont; the swaying grass blades stopped moving, the trembling Velora regained tranquility in this instant.

Standing in the doorway of the Velora, He Ao, with a bloodied face, lifted his gaze to the illusion in the sky and the powerful force that was rapidly approaching from the edge of the sky.

He slowly curled his lips into a tender and polite smile towards the being rushing from the edge of the sky, then gently raised his hand to close the train door.

The sonorous lody of the speeding train echoed under the dim sky as the old-fashioned train entered the void beneath the sky illusion.

The entire world seed to freeze for a mont at this ti; the illusion hovering in the sky suddenly collapsed, a real and imnse eye erged from the darkness.

Afterward, six ‘eye rings’ connected by countless little eyes appeared in the void, like devout servants, began to quickly rotate around the imnse eye at the center.

This trendous eye gazed upon the space He Ao had once occupied.

The roaring air currents tore through the grass leaves, and a more ferocious vortex stretched out invisibly in the void, spreading a huge and twisted strength to every corner.

The entire earth began to tremble violently, countless lingering monsters howled and crawled, then were overturned by the howling whirlwind.

Wild dust storms and tattered flesh filled the pitch-black sky.

And amidst this endless sweep of dust, the imnse eye nested in the center of the rings seed to sense sothing and turned its gaze towards the High Tower at the edge of the sky.

Its figure vanished into the darkness and, in a brief mont, appeared before the towering High Tower.

At that mont, a huge black cloud hovered near the High Tower, a dark Great Octopus floating in the air with eyes sparkling with a crimson glow all over its body.

It tried to escape the mont it spotted the ergence of the imnse eye, but it was already too late.

With one glance at the Great Octopus, its body suddenly froze.

Then, accompanied by a piercing scream and slick, slithering noises, the Great Octopus’s body began to contract, twist, and finally condensed into a small ‘eye,’ squeezed into the ‘eye ring’ orbiting the imnse eyeball.

After dealing with the ‘Great Octopus,’ the imnse eye turned its gaze towards the High Tower.

It surged with power, seemingly ready to charge into the High Tower in one fell swoop, but as it reached the edge of the High Tower, its figure slowed to a halt.

Then the imnse eyeball looked down deeply at the area below the High Tower and slowly retreated.

After retreating to its original position, it gave the High Tower another look, attempted to approach once more, but before reaching the previous position, it retreated again.

Flowing white clouds brushed over the top of the tower.

In the end, after several hesitations, this imnse eye, nested with the six ‘eye rings’ and filled with twisted grandeur, gave the High Tower in front of it one last look, then its figure gradually faded, disappearing into the void.
