805: Chapter 805: Eyes (Super Long Chapter, Request for Monthly Pass) 805: Chapter 805: Eyes (Super Long Chapter, Request for Monthly Pass) A dazzling golden spear ford from the air and shot towards He Ao like a stream of light.
He Ao contracted his body, raised the Knight’s Sword still sheathed in its scabbard, and swung upward.
The scabbard struck the spear, shattering it completely.
At the sa ti, the rebound from hitting the spear continued to propel He Ao backward; he landed on the rooftop of a small building behind him, rolling backward to a stop next to a golden greatsword embedded at the center of the rooftop.
He slung the Knight’s Sword behind his back and reached out to grasp the gigantic hilt.
After a day’s ti, the greatsword had dissipated much of its energy, but even so, it remained a B-level weapon.
“It seems this is the battlefield you chose.”
The Elder floated down to the edge of the rooftop like a feather, raised his hand, and behind him, golden spears ford.
He smiled and watched He Ao, who was gripping the hilt,
“You enraged to draw away from your house, huh?
You wanted to preserve the mories of you and your parents?
After I kill you, I will destroy everything you cherish as well.”
“Many have threatened in a similar manner before.”
He Ao took a step forward, slowly exerted force, and pulled the golden greatsword from the ground.
“But what I cherish has always remained.”
On his shoulder, a blood-red butterfly slowly unfurled its wings, so invisible force enveloping his entire body, and he activated ‘Super mory’.
Alice, turned into a Paper Butterfly, had absorbed a considerable amount of power from the residual spirits of the Inner Church and now existed between illusion and reality.
In fact, she didn’t have a concrete body; the appearance of a paper butterfly was just a manifest “antenna” she displayed, akin to the tip of an iceberg poking out of the water.
She rested on He Ao, not by gravity or so form of attraction, but through the power gifted by the residual spirits of the Inner Church and the mystical connection with He Ao.
That power itself was a ‘thank you gift’ for He Ao, congregated within Alice to form an entirely new entity.
The ‘attachnt’ state was actually a projection of the mystical connection in the surface world.
Thus, no matter what actions He Ao took, the Paper Butterfly could still securely rest on his shoulder.
The power continuously healing He Ao’s body was also transmitted through this ‘special’ connection.
This was the ‘healing’ provided by the Paper Butterfly under normal circumstances.
In tis when He Ao needed to overexert himself, Alice could ‘drag’ out the power lurking ‘beneath the surface’, layering it in the real world to form a special ‘Domain.’
Within this Domain, Alice could release more power, providing greater ‘healing’ to He Ao, to support his body’s burst through Super mory.
Also, within this Domain, solidified resentful monsters could be summoned, up to three highest C-level monsters, and as long as the Domain existed, these three monsters would not die.
Of course, the activation of the Domain would increase Alice’s consumption; the larger the Domain’s coverage, the more Alice would consu.
Under normal circumstances, all of Alice’s power could support He Ao’s full burst for about thirty seconds.
After crossing this limit, she would need about a day to recover.
Strictly speaking, so of Alice’s attributes had already gained a sort of ‘shadow’ of an ‘Angel’, but her actual power seed to be only about that of a B-level Extraordinary Item.
“An ignorant young brat.”
Upon hearing He Ao’s words, the Elder slightly shook his head.
He slowly raised his hand, countless golden streaks fell from the sky like a teor shower, densely smashing towards He Ao.
He Ao had already clashed with this type of golden spear once; the spear’s strength was formidable, capable of easily piercing through ordinary C-level defense if struck abruptly.
However, the problem with this spear was its inherently weak structure; all its power was utilized to enhance its offensive capability, and once its attack was hindered, or if it struck an impenetrable object, it would imdiately shatter.
He Ao did not let Alice summon undead resentful spirits to block the attack for him, as it would needlessly consu Alice’s power, reducing his fighting ti.
He lifted the golden greatsword in his hand, accompanied by a whistling wind, and swung the entire broadsword up, the spinning blade colliding head-on with those dazzling streaks of light.
Nurous explosion sounds erupted at that instant, the bright golden radiance shattering like grand fireworks on a sumr night within this tranquil brilliance.
He Ao knew very well that just standing here and resisting was not enough.
In his Spiritual Vision field of view, the energy from those shattered golden spears did not dissipate directly after breaking apart, but mostly returned to the Elderly’s body and then reford into new golden spears.
This highly efficient recovery chanism was perhaps the reason these golden spears were designed to be so fragile.
This also allowed the spears to regenerate efficiently, and if he continued to focus on these spears, He Ao would undoubtedly be slain here.
Therefore, he consciously shattered the spears, creating scattered radiance, and continuously advanced to shorten the distance between him and the Elderly.
However, his movents were sowhat strenuous; it seed that dealing with these spears was already his limit.
The Elderly seed to have figured out his intentions, moving spears from behind to the front, increasing the density of the spear attack.
At the mont this wave of dense attacks arrived, He Ao suddenly raised his sword with both hands; the speed of his swings doubled, almost simultaneously shattering the spears before him, like a tree of fire illuminating the night sky in an instant.
At this mont, He Ao swung his greatsword without any defense, took a step like an arrow, and rushed into the confusing radiance like a reverse stream of light.
In the Elderly’s field of view, he felt the radiance burst forth in an instant, then the figure dragging the golden greatsword broke through the dispersed radiance and appeared before him.
“Interesting.”
In that instant, he understood what had just happened.
When He Ao first swung his greatsword to break the golden spears, he had not used his full strength intentionally, luring him to increase the force of the spears, then using a full-force attack to shatter the spears and burst through to his front instantly.
At this mont, in the Elderly’s eyes, the youth’s clothes were slightly damaged, and though there were fewer spears flying from behind than before, they were still present.
Actually, the duration of their fight was very short; it transpired in the blink of an eye, but during this brief mont, the youth had completed the whole process of ‘showing weakness, inducing, breaking through’.
For soone of his age, such battle cultivation could no longer be described as genius.
“You are quite remarkable, but unfortunately, you have relied heavily on external forces.”
The Elderly gazed at He Ao who had almost reached him, watching the nine-ringed greatsword with its invisible radiance cleaving towards him.
Orange radiance converged in his eyes, and a triangular eye motif tightly closed ford in his left eye.
In that instant, He Ao suddenly felt a throbbing in his heart as if his body was being ‘seen through’ uninhibited by so force, and the distorted patterns in his Spiritual Vision trembled violently.
At the sa ti, a mysterious sense of ‘attraction’ spread from the depths of his heart.
He looked up, watching the Elderly’s glowing left eye.
The surrounding distorted patterns suddenly boiled as if scorched by so fla.
Following this, He Ao felt the ‘healing’ power that had covered his body rapidly diminishing, the horrifying and imnse strength originating from Super mory and Fist Technique pressing on his body, pushing him to the verge of collapse.
Intense pain surged into his consciousness, nearly causing him to lose control over his body.
Even so, his hand movents did not falter or deviate, cutting directly towards the Elderly’s neck.
That was where the energy convergence point of the Elderly was located.
“Surprising.”
The Elderly raised his right hand, fingers coming together and pointing downwards, pale golden radiance flowing over his aged skin, then he flicked forward, like a crane lifting its head, striking with a bang upon the swinging golden greatsword.
Those frail fingers t the thick, sharp greatsword.
Bang—
Accompanied by a thunderous sound, the floor beneath the Elderly shattered explosively.
At the sa ti, He Ao’s body was suddenly struck flying backward, landing at the edge of the rooftop.
“Unfortunately,”
The Elderly stepped on a broken rebar, lightly jumped from the area he had just smashed, and landed on the still intact rooftop floor, “I am not limited to long-range attacks.”
He brushed the dust off his clothes, golden glimrs sweeping across his skin, forming intricate patterns that almost solidified into a terrifying pressure spreading from his body.
He looked at He Ao with interest, his right eye still light brown, but his left now filled with an inverted orange triangular pattern, He Ao’s figure seemingly reflected in his eyes,
“You won’t live long, your body has already been on the brink of collapse; in fact, you’re only hanging on by a thread and that special ‘healing’ extraordinary item on your shoulder.
“I must say, it’s a miracle you’ve survived this long.
You haven’t ‘rged’ with the Secret Watcher; instead, you completely rely on your own willpower to suppress the Secret Watcher’s strength and make it serve you.
“Your soul is powerful, but your body can’t contain the strength of the soul.
It seems you’ve had so incredible encounters in the Storm Sea.
“If it weren’t for the affection you show for your family and holand, I might have thought that so Divine Being’s remnant or a deceased Angel had taken over your body.
“However, I’ve always thought that the power that triggers your bursts is so kind of external force’s extraordinary item, isn’t it?
“Is it so kind of strength hidden inside your soul?
What is it?
An angel’s legacy?
You’ve even gained so fighting techniques from it,”
He looked at He Ao and gently clapped,
“Young lad, you have more secrets than I imagined.
I believe killing you will give plenty of surprises.
“Thus, I’ll allow you to know my na before you die, as a show of ‘respect’ for your courage and will,”
The Elderly man raised his hand, and golden spears erged once again in the sky, “Bright, it’s been a long ti since I’ve said that na.”
“Talent Sequence 194: Fanatic,”
He Ao stood up slowly, leaning on the golden greatsword, “That’s your Talent Sequence, isn’t it?”
Last night in the Inner Church, He Ao t ‘Serat,’ who was also a ‘Fanatic,’ and it was due to Serat’s self-introduction that He Ao learned of this Talent Sequence.
Upon closer observation, one can see that Bright’s abilities have many similarities with Serat’s, including the condensed spears and the self-regulating golden radiance.
Moreover, both being B-level followers of Eternal Radiance, it’s easy to associate the two with the sa Talent Sequence.
After all, most of the ti, the loyal followers of a Divine Being often possess the sa Talent Sequence.
“Young lad, are you trying to delay to heal your body?”
Bright did not directly answer He Ao’s question, only increasing the number of golden spears in the sky.
“Yes.”
He Ao answered without hesitation.
At that mont, the blood-red butterfly on his shoulder folded its wings tightly; he could clearly feel that the power of the Paper Butterfly was being suppressed by so special force, causing the ‘healing’ effect to significantly weaken.
However, the Paper Butterfly seed to have increased the frequency of energy transfer, now restoring the healing effect, though at the cost of reducing its duration by more than one-third.
“The extraordinary item that is your butterfly seems quite special,”
Bright, slightly baffled by He Ao’s frankness, could only shift his gaze to the butterfly on He Ao’s shoulder, “It seems there is so special connection with you.”
The mont he finished speaking, those golden spears, like beams of light, fell toward He Ao’s location again.
He had just picked up He Ao’s words, only intending to divert He Ao’s attention.
Although Bright was stronger than He Ao, he would never engage in close combat if he could weaken him from afar.
However, this sudden attack did not co as a surprise to He Ao; he nearly instantly lifted his golden greatsword again to block those spears,
Probably seven to eight thousand.
Simultaneously, he began to estimate the physical fitness that Bright had just displayed.
Stronger than Lockway, and with far richer combat skills and experience.
Absolute strength, robust combat capabilities, language that seed reckless and flippant, but with viciously decisive and exceptionally cautious actions.
From the look of his skin, Bright likely spent a lot of ti in the Wilderness, possibly even born there, where the laws of survival were much more brutal than in the cities.
Countless thoughts flashed through He Ao’s mind, and he currently leaned towards Bright’s Talent Sequence being that of a “Fanatic.”
The gathering of golden radiance was certainly not the only ability of a “Fanatic,” according to its na, this Talent Sequence might receive so special ‘Enchantnt’ from Eternal Radiance.
Similarly, as a Fanatic, Serat bound himself with the Inner Church and gained the attribute of ‘Undead.’
So, what ‘Enchantnt’ had Bright sought?
In that instant, He Ao rembered the light that had flashed on Bright’s skin when he took hold of the golden greatsword and the special patterns spread across his body.
Lockway activated these patterns by chanting a prayer, performing a ritual to so extent, but Bright seed to activate these patterns casually.
Perhaps, this was the correct usage of a “Fanatic”?
They were inherently more favored by Divine Beings.
However, it was clear that Bright had ventured far deeper and further on the path of the Transcendent than Serat had.
In that mont, a thought crossed He Ao’s mind: as leaders of the Ancient Teachings and Esoteric Teachings, who was more favored by Eternal Radiance, the Ancient Teachings leader ‘Bright,’ or the yet-to-appear leader of the Esoteric Teachings?
The thought erged only briefly before He Ao suppressed it; now was not the ti to consider this.
He resisted the golden spears while looking towards Bright’s direction.
His gaze remained fixed on Bright’s eye that shimred with orange radiance.
The Paper Butterfly was suppressed, seemingly an ‘effect’ of that eye, as Bright had said, which seed to erase the external transcendental items’ ‘influence’ on their owners.
The underlying principle should be…
He Ao glanced around the space; in his Spiritual Vision field of view, the distorted patterns surrounding him seed to have ‘disappeared’ significantly.
He didn’t know what these distorted patterns represented, but perhaps, these patterns were the operational ‘links’ of the transcendental items, and Bright’s eye, by erasing these patterns directly, blocked the effectiveness of the transcendental items’ abilities.
Because of his special connection with the Paper Butterfly, not entirely activated through the patterns of the surface world, its effects were still partially maintained.
That’s why Bright had just expressed such doubt.
And from this point, if deduced backwards, all the forces existing within He Ao himself should not be ‘affected.’
Thus, the powers of Super mory and Divine Sense were unaffected.
However,
He Ao tried to sense the Super mory ‘mark’ he had placed on Bright earlier, and now he could hardly sense any thoughts from Bright.
However, that ‘mark’ had not been directly erased but had beco very weakly connected to He Ao; if he hadn’t concentrated his attention on it, he might not have sensed the mark’s existence at all.
The outwards projection of Super mory, that eye could also affect.
Moreover, He Ao could distinctly feel that the eye had so kind of fatal ‘Attraction’ towards him.
Normally, such a strong attraction seed only to occur among Talent Sequences on the sa path.
After shattering a few more golden spears, He Ao drew the Knight’s Sword from behind him, blocking a spear in an instant and then charging again at Bright.
“Is the transcendental item in your eye a subsequent Talent Sequence from the path of the Secret Watcher?”
He Ao once again raised the golden greatsword, striking down at Bright, “Does that an, you can also see those Truth patterns?”
He could see the Truth patterns, but dared not touch these truths, fearful of turning into a Truth Monster, so he could only use the Secret Watcher to create one.
At that mont, He Ao realized sothing, his lips curving upward, “Are you afraid of dying?”
Bright’s expression darkened completely, the golden spears in the sky instantly shattered, converging entirely upon him as he raised both hands, “Kid, learn how to speak in your next life.”
He Ao held the golden greatsword, his expression calm.
This was both a crisis and an opportunity.
