723: Chapter 723: The Secret Curtain (Big chapter, asking for monthly pass) 723: Chapter 723: The Secret Curtain (Big chapter, asking for monthly pass) The classic Velora sailed through the sky as He Ao exchanged a glance with Wester standing at the very top of the building.
Then he took a leap of faith, jumped down from the cargo truck, and landed on the ground that had beco a rooftop, his feet stepping into the ruins strewn with massive rock debris.
“Oh?”
Wester looked at He Ao with interest.
He raised his two gigantic arms, his towering figure eclipsing the sun as he looked down at He Ao, “Are you preparing to stop ?”
He Ao simply held the Shadowless Sword, quietly watching him.
The boost brought by the advancent in Super mory finally ceased at this mont, with his physical attributes ultimately stabilizing at 3625.
“Hahaha, what a dull yet confident fellow,”
Wester looked at He Ao, his huge mouth gaping open, thick mucus flowing down through the gaps in his teeth, “Since you want to be the hero who saves the world, I shall grant you that.
The great God of Chaos will probably like your flesh and soul.”
“Are you done talking?”
He Ao raised his head, his gaze calm as he watched him.
Although Wester had recovered from his injuries through a sacrifice and had gained even greater power, under the view of Divine Sense, his energy focal points had not returned to their original state.
This guy had already had three energy focal points destroyed by He Ao in the past, and another was destroyed when he was stabbed in the back during the sacrifice.
Four of the five energy focal points were gone, and now only one remained.
This critical juncture sustained the energy flow through Wester’s entire colossal body.
Of course, destroying this critical juncture was not easy, as Wester had already demonstrated the ability to move the energy focal points before.
So the fatal blow must be swift, so swift that Wester couldn’t react in ti.
He Ao took half a step back, lifted the Shadowless Sword, and perford a preparatory stance.
“Since you want to die, I will oblige.
You will pay the price for your arrogance.”
Wester also watched He Ao, his muscles tensed throughout his body.
His recent battle with He Ao had left a profound impression on him due to He Ao’s terrifying combat abilities, which made him wary of He Ao at all tis.
But now he possessed divine grace, such imnse power that no matter how many tricks and fancy moves the person before him had, it would be impossible for him to resist.
Power is the absolute thing in this world.
Crushing this person would be as simple as crushing an ant.
And with his massive body, the opponent’s needle-like weapon probably couldn’t even pierce his skin.
He took a deep breath, all his focus on He Ao before him.
Although he had absolute overpowering strength, he never underestimated his adversary.
A small black dot appeared in the distant sky, as if sothing was rapidly approaching.
Boom—
After a short standoff, Wester crushed the ground beneath his foot, bursting forth like a detached electromagnetic cannon, and violently slamd toward the spot where He Ao was standing.
He Ao watched the giant figure rushing towards him.
As that figure charged at him, his heart felt as if gripped by an invisible giant hand, a trendous pressure bearing down on his veins, seemingly about to burst his entire body.
His body arched in an instant, entering a sort of stiffened state.
Debris scattered like sand, and the solid concrete was effortlessly crushed by that imnse hand as if it were sandy loam.
The whirling dust obscured the battlefield, and the onlookers’ view around was covered in an instant.
Wu Lan, who was crouched in front of the Velora’s door, gripped the door fra with muscles bulging on his arms, staring intensely at the very center of the billowing dust.
In her gaze, a figure suddenly burst out of the dancing dust, its ferocious body even dragging a wisp of smoke behind.
The figure, compared to the giant standing beneath the sky, looking down upon the whole city, was so minuscule.
However, like a sharp sword cutting through the fog and shadows, it charged towards the seemingly invincible giant.
At that sa mont, an invisible sword shadow in the figure’s hand was suddenly flung, turning into a nearly undetectable streak of light that pierced directly into the giant’s chest.
“Ah!!!”
The giant let out a cry of pain, seemingly preparing to lift its other hand to strike at the tiny figure.
And the mont the blade of the sword lodged itself in the giant’s chest, the figure landed on the giant’s shoulder, using it as a springboard to leap again, jumping towards the back of the giant.
The giant’s swinging hand ultimately did not reach its mark but froze mid-air, while the Shadowless Sword, having penetrated the giant’s body, erged from the giant’s back, carrying droplets of splattered blood, and fell into He Ao’s hand, who just happened to be descending behind the giant.
He Ao, using the last bit of the Shadowless Sword’s montum, turned and spun, landing behind the giant.
His feet stood at the edge of the building, with hundreds of ters of open air behind him.
The straight wall of the skyscraper, like a towering cliff, stood beneath his feet.
In front of him, Wester’s massive body swayed and then toppled forward, falling onto the tall building with a rumble, kicking up debris and dust.
“No, it’s impossible…”
Wester struggled to prop up his upper body, trying to rise again, but the wildly rampaging energy inside him had rapidly begun to destroy his body.
Bang—
His body fell once more.
The Shadowless Sword in He Ao’s hand turned into an illusion, hovering around his body, as he walked past Wester’s massive figure to stand before his colossal head.
Wester’s eyes, bloodshot, stared intently at He Ao.
“The great Chaos is invincible.”
He opened his right hand, and a small coin erged from his flesh, fixing his gaze on He Ao, “Join in hell.”
The coin, squeezed by his flesh, was tossed upward.
Retrieve objects from the air!
The next second, Wester felt sothing disappear from his hand.
He Ao glanced at the coin in his hand, lightly fiddled with it, and then gave Wester a smile.
Currently, his back was to the Velora and that approaching small black dot in the distance, perfectly blocking their view, so they did not see him using Retrieve objects from the air to take the coin.
At the mont when Wester’s blood-red eyes saw the coin in He Ao’s hand, they bulged in shock.
He opened his mouth, wanting to say sothing, but ultimately, no words ca out.
His tense muscles relaxed, and the last traces of life faded away.
His body began to rapidly decay, which was the God of Chaos withdrawing the ‘price’ due.
It was at this mont that He Ao was slightly taken aback.
He felt a pulsating sensation coming from the jade pendant hidden inside his clothes.
The blood sealed within the pendant seed eager to ‘absorb’ sothing but was restricted by his Control Array.
With a thought, he slightly loosened the restriction.
The next second, the rate at which Wester’s massive body decayed accelerated by more than twice, while a surging force flowed into the jade pendant through so invisible connection.
Within the throbbing of the blood, it was gradually converted into pure energy stored inside the pendant.
Is this so kind of solidified ‘Sacrifice Ritual’?
Is the energy in the pendant acquired like this?
What triggers the ritual?
Does the person killed by the pendant’s bearer beco ‘Sacrifices’ for the pendant?
However, Hao Yi did not trigger this sacrifice when he killed people.
It seed that only the actual body could do so, or perhaps a body holding the jade pendant?
When the ritual was triggered, must the jade pendant be nearby?
Countless thoughts flashed through He Ao’s mind.
He Ao felt the energy gradually increasing within the jade pendant.
He originally thought it was just a one-ti thing, but now it seed like he really stumbled upon a treasure?
However…
He Ao gazed at the nearly completely vanished body of the giant, his eyes slightly strange.
The sacrifice of Wester himself would not have garnered so much ‘Grace.’ This amount of Grace was ‘advanced’ to him by the God of Chaos.
Now that Wester was dead, and the God of Chaos was reclaiming the power and ‘price,’ he had intercepted it himself.
Moreover, He Ao felt that judging by the increased rate of decay of Wester’s body after he released the jade pendant, for so unknown reason, the energy he intercepted seed to be a little more than the part the God of Chaos was reclaiming.
If there was loss in the energy transmission over long distances, then the God of Chaos probably couldn’t even recover half of its investnt this ti.
He Ao thought for a mont and could only thank the God of Chaos, old iron, for the gift that crossed nurous tis and spaces.
To sacrifice oneself for others.
All one could say, impressive!
As the giant’s body decayed, He Ao also took the opportunity to sort through the state of Super mory.
The advancent of Super mory to B-level this ti was different from the last advancent to C-level.
He Ao had tried before, Super mory’s advancent could first swallow Talent Sequences and then complete the ritual for advancent, and it had a high fault tolerance, which did not require the precise concoction of Secret dicine, and it could force a swallow directly.
When advancing from D-level to C-level, He Ao directly consud a Transcendent item with the ‘Chess Master’ Talent Sequence, ‘Thought Stone.’
That ti, even before completing the ritual, he still gained part of the C-level power, aning that without the ritual, Super mory still fused part of the ‘Chess Master’ Talent Sequence.
This ti, however, was different.
Although He Ao likewise absorbed from Vellent’s body the ‘Orator’ Talent Sequence, this ti the B-level Talent Sequence was not directly digested by Super mory but retained in He Ao’s soul in so form, and He Ao did not gain part of the B-level powers and enhancents in advance.
Only after his ritual was completed, when the speech in the Copy World ‘K’ completely led to the collapse of Kajet Conglorate, fulfilling the ritual’s requirent of ‘impacting the entire known world,’ did Super mory successfully advance to B-level.
If one were to look at the big picture, from D-level to B-level, the swallowing effect of Super mory during advancent seems to be getting weaker.
He Ao felt that for the next step, he might need a complete Secret dicine.
But that’s a concern for later.
He Ao withdrew his thoughts and began to organize the abilities of Super mory at B-level.
First were the original ‘Listen’ and ‘Ease Thought’ abilities of Chess Master.
‘Listen’ still could only place five markers, but now, the deeper thoughts of those marked by He Ao were exposed to him, and while it still did not achieve the effect of mind reading, the greater the level disparity, the stronger the effect.
He Ao had just tested placing markers on Wester, and while the ‘Listen’ effect was better than before, it was not by much, only a standard increase.
However, apart from that, there was another effect that might not count as an enhancent of the ‘Listen’ ability.
When He Ao activated Super mory, even without placing markers, he could sense so scattered thoughts of the people around him more clearly.
Originally, he could only sense so vague trends of thoughts, but now, these thoughts were much clearer and could be perceived over a greater range.
And ‘Ease Thought’ reduced the cooldown for modifying B-level choices from an initial thirty days to three days.
If modifying a C-level choice, it went from three tis a week to twice a day.
Furthermore, He Ao could use three markers at once to mark an A-level, which after marking, would allow him to glimpse the thoughts of the A-level with ‘Listen’ and alter one of the A-level’s choices with ‘Ease Thought.’ After the modification, all three markers would enter a three-month cooldown period.
Overall, it seed like the abilities of C-level had been upgraded to B-level, but now Ease Thought could be used on heaven, despite a significant cost, it might save his life at a critical mont.
In addition to these abilities that were already present at C-level, the ‘Orator’ also brought He Ao two new abilities.
The first is called ‘Orator’, a passive ability that makes people more inclined to believe the speaker when trying to persuade others or whilst delivering speeches.
The more people listening to the Orator, and the more the Orator addresses the crux of the issue, the more effective this ability becos.
The second one is known as ‘The Follower’, another passive ability that cos into play when soone believes in the Orator’s ideas to a certain extent and becos a follower.
Followers are not prone to easy betrayal and possess a higher level of execution.
The more loyal the follower, the stronger their conviction, sotis to the extent that they would sacrifice their lives for it.
According to the feedback from Super mory, theoretically, if He Ao could persuade an Angel, he could even make the Angel his follower.
Having understood these two abilities, He Ao also roughly comprehended why Deres and Bram, those two C-levels, along with the soldiers from the Kajet rcenary Corps, so staunchly supported Vellent, even at the cost of their lives to pave the way for Vellent.
He finally understood why Vellent, aside from the transcendent powers obtained through the contamination of Winding Hill, had not demonstrated any other C-level abilities.
Vellent’s C-level abilities were those soldiers and Transcendents whose dispositions had already been countered and solved by He Ao’s strategies.
While these two abilities do not seem to have any obvious combat strength, they can easily affect the fate of countless individuals.
Used well, they can bring benefits to a place; used poorly, they can lead to a field of corpses.
Beyond these abilities, the physical enhancent resulting from Super mory reached an astonishing 2420.
Even though Super mory isn’t a combat-related Talent Sequence, this enhancent has already exceeded the full power of most average C-levels.
Looking at this point, He Ao speculated that his ritual must have been quite successful, and the effects of those two C-level abilities would probably be very good as well.
However, the biggest limitation to these two abilities might still be the usage ti of Super mory.
After advancing to C-level, the cost-free usage ti for Super mory remained at 30 seconds, but the depletion beyond this ti was further reduced, effectively extending the usable ti He Ao had available.
He Ao could faintly sense that when he turned off Super mory, these two passive abilities might still be active, though their effects were likely far less than when Super mory was engaged.
Properly managing the timing of turning Super mory on and off to maximize the effectiveness of the abilities might also be an issue that needs consideration.
Overall, after advancing to C-level, Super mory had indeed gained a significant boost.
Now, even if He Ao faced an Angel, he would not be entirely without the ans to save himself.
By the ti He Ao’s thoughts were in order, the body of the giant on the ground had completely vanished, and a feedback indicating that so energy storage in the jade pendant was full ca through.
He Ao then maneuvered the Velora to reposition behind him.
“Is it over?”
Wu Lan, covered in wounds, imdiately jumped down.
She glanced at the ruined wasteland around her and seed sowhat bewildered for a mont.
Such a powerful giant, such a terrifying force, ‘Hao Yi’ before her had resolved it with just one move, leaving not even bones behind.
“I’m afraid this is just the beginning.”
He Ao withdrew his gaze, briefly activated Super mory, and scanned the surroundings.
The chaotic city seed to have begun to settle down, and the bright sunlight spread across the land and ocean, making everything appear peaceful again.
But the unease in He Ao’s heart grew stronger.
From the last bits of information he felt from Wester’s mind, Wester himself was surprised by the sudden grace from the God of Chaos.
This indicated that not until the major ritual at that mont had the God of Chaos realized the uniqueness of this land.
Before this, there had been no particular attention paid.
If the God of Chaos initially paid no heed to this land nor knew of its uniqueness,
The chaotic belief was not intentionally spread by the Divine Being.
Then, in this world where the gods cannot reach, where did the initial ‘Grace’ co from?
Even He Ao did not know the complete ritual of the God of Chaos.
As He Ao pondered, the howling wind arrived in front of him; the tiny black dot had drawn near, becoming a massive black helicopter.
A white figure jumped down from the helicopter.
