636: Chapter 636: Relic?

(Big Chapter for Monthly Tickets) 636: Chapter 636: Relic?

(Big Chapter for Monthly Tickets) Velora

The Velora’s forward speed was not fast, and He Ao even felt it was no different from traveling in the main world.

After several attempts, He Ao realized that the vehicle required additional energy to “accelerate” its journey.

Moreover, the rank of energy used to drive the flight could not be low; although lower-grade energy could be utilized, at least B-rank or higher was needed to achieve a better “acceleration” effect.

He Ao didn’t have any B-rank energy for the ti being.

He stretched out his hand, a shadow drifted into the front of the vehicle and then floated before him.

Within this shadow, there were faint flashes of the power of thunder.

But he happened to have angel-level energy at his disposal.

The shining thunder was drawn out in that instant, spreading throughout the entire front of the vehicle.

——

Navigator

Dim lights bathed the blood-stained earth; heaped ancient tals protruding from the ground touched Ivier’s palm, enveloping it.

A sharp greatsword, reflecting a chilly gleam, slashed downward toward Ivier’s face.

At the sa ti, He Ao drew his bone sword, aiming for Ivier’s heart.

Bang——

The descending greatsword was blocked by the iron lance Ivier held before him, while the bone sword from below was hindered by an irregular steel wall jutting out from the tal ruins beneath their feet.

Ivier raised his head, looking at the blood-sared cheek of He Ao, gripping the protruding tal from the ground and pulling it up violently.

Accompanied by a violent tremor akin to an earthquake, a huge arm connected with countless tal fragnts was extracted from the towering slope, a fist smashing toward He Ao’s side.

He Ao swiftly retracted his bone sword, blocking it by his side, and withstood the sudden attack.

However, because he blocked in haste, he hadn’t steadied his stance; the mont the steel fist struck him, his body flew out, sliding into the deep tunnel.

Ivier shifted his gaze, looking down at the flying He Ao, then planted his long spear into the ground; once again, the tallic waste on the ground bulged, squeezing out a sharp-tipped alloy rod.

Ivier didn’t hesitate; he promptly pulled out the alloy rod and hurled it toward He Ao.

His action was extrely fast, and with a tallic whistling sound, the alloy rod instantly crossed the void, reaching in front of He Ao.

Luckily, as Ivier threw the rod, He Ao was already prepared; he turned sideways and used his greatsword to shield himself, sparing him from being impaled by the strike.

The alloy rod struck the greatsword, bent slightly, and then ricocheted away.

He Ao’s body also hit the wall in the depths of the corridor.

He paused, then once more propped himself up with the greatsword, preventing himself from falling.

“Your resilience does not match your age,”

Ivier, now with his face entirely covered with grey lines, looked up at He Ao; one after another, alloy rods pierced through the tallic ruins and stood in front of him.

As the contamination progressed, he gradually gained control over this polluted steel wasteland.

“When I was your age, I was far from what you are.

Honestly, your talent and temperant even make sowhat jealous, but that’s as far as it goes,”

He casually pulled out another alloy rod, “There are countless geniuses in this world, but very few ever grow up.

Rest assured, your death will be painless; that’s the respect I’m giving you.”

He Ao watched Ivier’s movents.

He didn’t speak; in such a situation, he could hardly afford to be distracted.

Super mory constantly built combat models of Ivier in his mind, but as the opponent’s strength kept increasing, these models were ceaselessly revised.

The Mark of Perception that could sense actions had long been placed on Ivier by He Ao, but the thoughts transmitted back by this mark were mostly chaotic and violent.

Although He Ao could also perceive so of Ivier’s thoughts, the effectiveness of these was not high.

Ivier moved fast, and he had extrely rich battle experience.

Often, before his mind could form effective thoughts, his body had already taken action.

Indeed, He Ao was much the sa, having honed his actions to the point where they often occurred before his brain had even caught up due to continually accruing combat experience.

Strictly speaking, at this mont, Ivier had virtually attained the level of a B-class.

He Ao touched the Miracle Wand at his waist.

In the end, he chose not to use the Mountain Collapse Tsunami.

The whistling alloy rods were already thrown by Ivier, raining down towards He Ao like droplets.

This ti, rather than retreating, He Ao advanced, moving to uncover the lid beneath the hilt of the Iron Lance.

Then, with one hand on the lance and the other on the sword, he charged toward Ivier once more like a phantom.

The lance and the bone sword served as solid barriers, continuously blocking the incoming alloy rods.

The materials of these alloy rods weren’t particularly superior, easily repelled or even severed by the heated blade of the chanical lance.

But propelled by Ivier’s formidable throw, the rods traveled with such velocity that even when He Ao blocked them, they still inflicted shock to his already battered body.

The compounded impacts substantially hindered He Ao’s speed.

Yet, his movents didn’t cease, as he relentlessly continued his frenzied charge towards Ivier.

As he drew closer, Ivier’s throwing of the alloy rods beca even more dense and precise, the force of impact increasing accordingly.

Gradually, He Ao could no longer fend off every rod, letting so breach his defenses.

Although he still managed to dodge them, the sharp-edged alloy rods grazed his body, leaving behind minor cuts.

Despite the storm-like assault, He Ao’s distance from Ivier was closing.

“Falling into the sa trap.”

Ivier laughed briefly, and as He Ao got close once again, he no longer hurled his spears but instead abruptly raised his right hand, lifting the massive iron arm again.

He smashed it down towards He Ao.

At that mont, He Ao raised his bone sword and abruptly threw it toward Ivier’s neck.

Ivier dodged to the side of the attack, but his swing with the iron arm didn’t stop.

As his attention was caught by the bone sword, He Ao gripped an Energy Block with Retrieve objects from the air straight from his pocket and shoved it into the flesh blob beneath the chanical lance.

A blaze of light burst forth in an instant from the blade, like the sun compressed onto earth, its blinding brilliance illuminating the entire space.

He Ao had discovered this technique while clearing minions on his way here; when the lance was charged with an Energy Block, it would briefly experience a ‘power surge.’

But this was the first ti He Ao had ‘fed’ it so many Energy Blocks.

Terrifying waves of heat surged forth, reddening the exposed skin of He Ao.

He focused all his strength in a line from his elbow, waist, to leg, then lifted the lance high and brought it down furiously onto the iron arm.

The blade burned like the sun, lting the old iron as if it were slicing through tofu with a branding iron, cutting through the seemingly indestructible arm with intense fus and a blinding tangerine glow.

The massive arm ‘smacked’ the spot where He Ao stood, but He Ao remained unscathed, still standing there in place.

Holding the ablaze lance, he looked like a deity parting chaos, splitting the huge iron arm in two.

Ivier, who had just dodged the bone sword, hadn’t reacted before his iron arm was severed.

However, He Ao gave him no ti for shock; in the instant the arm broke off, while the molten glow on the steel had not yet faded, He Ao had already leaped onto the remaining half of the arm to propel himself towards Ivier.

“Insignificant trick!”

Ivier’s reflexes weren’t slow; almost the mont He Ao jumped towards him, he raised his lance.

The fiery blade clashed with the hard shaft of the lance once again.

Just as Ivier was ready to repeat his move and gather his iron arm to send He Ao flying again, he suddenly perceived that this ti, the force behind He Ao’s attack seed weaker than before.

He Ao’s blade only briefly touched Ivier’s lance before using the force to roll away, landing inside the hall once more.

He imdiately realized sothing and quickly turned around.

At that mont, He Ao in the hall had already picked up the bone sword he had thrown earlier and swiftly walked toward the depths of the hall, putting distance between himself and Ivier.

Ivier realized sothing, his expression darkening as he tossed the still-forming iron arm and stepped into the Core Control Room.

He Ao watched him walk in, revealing a slight smile.

At this mont, he could finally catch his breath.

“This is why I hate fighting with clever people.”

Ivier, holding the Iron Lance, looked at He Ao with an icy expression.

As soon as he stepped into the hall, the power in his body began to weaken rapidly.

Although the hall looked simple with just a crystal and several pillars, He Ao had realized upon his first entrance that, from the viewpoint of Divine Sense, the void was filled with various energy circuits.

These energies converged on the golden bracelet floating above the dodecahedron crystal in the center, and then flowed through this bracelet into the dodecahedron crystal below.

This was why He Ao had initially advised Ivier not to try touching the bracelet.

That bracelet was the core where all the hallway’s flowing energy congregated.

At that ti, He Ao had not fully understood the function of these flowing energies, and he was quickly drawn into battle with Ivier.

Now, as Ivier entered the hall, He Ao knew at least one function of these energy circuits—purification of pollution.

The grey lines that had spread throughout Ivier’s body visibly faded as soon as he entered the hall.

And the intensity of Ivier’s own energy also began to wane as he entered the hall.

Those controllable iron tals did not follow Ivier into the hall either.

So, this was why Ivier had previously pulled the battlefield outside the gate.

This guy had long realized the suppression the hall had on him, and outside, he could also make use of the twisted iron carcasses.

Perhaps those carcasses were left by the monsters that had once attacked the door, but they were unable to break through the outer gates, thanks to the purifying effect of the flowing energy inside the hall.

He Ao looked up at the invisible energy circuits above his head.

His body continued to retreat, constantly increasing the distance between himself and Ivier.

And at this mont, Ivier, without wasting any more words, held the lance in both hands, his muscles bulging, attacking He Ao like a charging wolf.

With the power of ‘Blessing’ being suppressed, the gap in strength between him and He Ao was no longer as significant as before.

The violent Iron Lance, like a phantom, repeatedly thrust toward He Ao’s body, its stirring spear tips leaving afterimages like a blooming peony.

He Ao kept swinging his large knife to fend off this torrential onslaught.

With the gap in strength not as great as before, Ivier chose to maintain the montum of his overwhelming assault with a tempestuous, fierce attack.

Strike while the iron’s hot, then cos the decline, and finally exhaustion.

This strategy would beco more ferocious over ti, shattering the stance that He Ao had just managed to stabilize, and then go straight for his life.

Of course, if He Ao were to steady himself and survive Ivier’s initial fervent onslaught, by the ti Ivier’s montum waned and his energy flagged, the gap between He Ao and Ivier would close even further.

Under such impact, He Ao kept retreating rapidly.

Several tis, the tip of Ivier’s lance broke through his defense, grazing the edge of his neck and leaving a trail of blood.

A half mont slower in reaction, and he would have been pierced through the neck.

This strategy of building montum beca more intense as it went on.

Soon, He Ao was pushed to the end of the hall.

He leaned against the semi-transparent glass wall, the sharp spear tip breaking through his defense, thrusting directly at his brow.

But the mont his defense was breached, He Ao violently turned his head aside, dodging the attack.

The spear tip nailed into the translucent glass, and the entire space quivered for a mont.

He Ao could distinctly feel that the energy circuit in the hall of the Core Control Room was disturbed.

Indeed, this glass wall and the entire circuit, as well as the twelve tal pillars that made up the circuit, were all connected as one.

At that mont, He Ao had no ti to think in detail.

As soon as the spear tip touched the wall, Ivier swung the spear tip towards He Ao’s head in a slicing motion.

He Ao abruptly drew back the raised chanic sword, blocking the incoming lance.

Then, using the force brought by the spear tip, he leaped backward.

Simultaneously, his gaze turned towards the sky, to the very top of the translucent glass wall.

That direction was precisely where the skeleton behind the glass seed to be looking.

But there was nothing there except for a bright light and a flowing energy circuit.

Ivier, glancing at He Ao looking upwards, imdiately realized sothing.

He ripped off a button, flicked it, and shattered the light bulb.

His power was imnse, smashing the entire lampshade down, yet nothing was revealed.

The falling lampshade seed to be just an ordinary lampshade.

“Are you hoping for so relic left by the people of the past that could turn the tide in your favor?

But it seems there isn’t one.”

Ivier leaped into the air, spear in hand, spun in a circle, and his Iron Lance cleaved through the falling lampshade toward He Ao.

The chanic sword was too heavy; there was no ti to lift it, so He Ao drew out the bone sword from behind with his ability to Retrieve Objects from the Air, and in a flash, it was across his chest, blocking the downward slash.

He landed on the ground, his body jolting.

Then he channeled his strength into his arms, swung fiercely, diverting the lance sideways, crashing it into the translucent glass wall nearby.

At the sa ti, he glanced at the sky.

As the spear tip struck the wall, the entire hall’s energy circuit surged.

The circuit in the direction the skeleton gazed upon also trembled.

It seed to vibrate at the sa frequency as the other circuits.

But, under the Super mory’s recollection, He Ao still ‘saw’ the ‘discordance’ in the vibration frequency of this circuit compared to the others.

It was as if sothing was absorbing the energy from the circuit, its frequency of vibration slightly slower than that of the other circuits, nearly imperceptible.

There was sothing there.

But it seed it wasn’t sothing that could be easily obtained.

At this ti, Ivier was already thrusting at He Ao again.

He Ao, while blocking and retreating, observed the entire area’s energy circuit.

Ivier’s montum was waning, so the pressure on He Ao eased slightly.

Even so, Ivier’s strength far surpassed his own.

His injuries were multiplying, and his Super mory had long been overstretched.

Continuing the fight, he might not last until Ivier’s montum fully evaporated.

He Ao’s gaze continually swept over the energy circuits above.

These energy circuits were peculiar, infused with a special Martial Arts essence, and this was now touching upon his area of ignorance.

None of the mystical knowledge he possessed had anything to do with Martial Arts.

Even the current thods of Martial Arts Training were guesswork at best.

He was beginning to understand; he at least needed to figure out this Martial Arts circuit to know exactly what was hidden there.

It seed that the person who left this thing did not wish for soone with no relevant knowledge to acquire such an item.

This might be a kind of intentional ‘screening.’

He Ao, lacking any prior knowledge, found it nearly impossible to decipher this peculiar construction akin to an Array of energy circuits.

But it wasn’t entirely impossible.

He had other ‘thods’ he could use.
