444: Chapter 444: Half and Half (Long Chapter, Request for Monthly Votes) 444: Chapter 444: Half and Half (Long Chapter, Request for Monthly Votes) He Ao’s figure jumped away like a phantom, dodging the little giant that ca smashing down from the sky.

His speed was fast, but the little giant’s wasn’t bad either; almost at the mont when He Ao flashed away, the little giant hit the ground.

The howling wind almost grazed his cheek as it rushed past.

Spattered mud splashed onto his clothes.

If he had been any slower, he would have been smashed into mush by the little giant.

Using ‘Stealth’ was not without cost.

It had a fifteen-second cost-free usage ti, and the more people it deceived, especially the stronger they were, the greater the consumption.

Once the cost-free ti was exceeded, he would have to burn his body’s energy to pay the price.

Now facing five C-level opponents, He Ao felt his body growing weaker by the second at a perceptible rate.

Although He Ao had minimized the use of Super mory as much as possible, it had already exceeded the thirty-second ‘free’ usage ti.

He didn’t have much ti; he had to increase his strength as soon as possible.

He mobilized the Divine Sense in his mind, concentrating it on his eyes and sword.

And in that instant, the little giant that had just landed swung back with a punch directly towards where He Ao was.

Had he been discovered?

He Ao’s body coiled up, springing out like a spring and landing in the muddy ground beside him.

He looked up at the little giant before him.

The little giant didn’t chase after him but punched the ground again, not far from his previous position.

If He Ao had dodged naturally just now, he would most likely have chosen that direction, and the blow would have hit him squarely.

The opponent hadn’t discovered him; instead, they were ‘predicting’ his position.

Terrifying battle intuition.

He Ao placed a mark on this little giant, and a multitude of data poured into his mind as he began to build a combat model of the little giant.

At the sa ti, his figure vanished, appearing next to the most heavily injured burly man.

“Ah!!!!!”

The burly man tore off a machine gun from an armored car, held it in his hands, and roared as he shot in all directions.

This thod was akin to a type of exhaustive search, trying to find He Ao’s position through area attacks.

This five-person group was clearly very experienced elite fighters; they didn’t panic when they discovered that He Ao had ‘disappeared’ instantly, starting to attempt to ‘find’ He Ao instead.

At this mont, He Ao steadily approached behind the man holding the machine gun, moving his body so that he always stayed just behind the line of fire.

At this ti, the little giant who had missed his punch looked behind him.

The four burly n were surrounding him from all sides, each trying to find ‘disappeared’ He Ao in their own way.

The explosion of the Plasma Cannon that He Ao triggered just now had affected the four n differently because of their varying distances from the explosion, and so they were injured to different extents.

The closest deputy leader, also piloting a Cerberus cha, had blocked a wave of shockwaves and managed to eject and escape, receiving the lightest injuries.

The other three were injured to varying degrees, with the most serious being the sniper of the team responsible for firearms control, who was closest at the ti and had his entire cha shattered.

Had he not injected a Strengthening Potion in ti, he might have died on the spot.

It was this sniper who was now holding the machine gun and firing around.

The team leader, the little giant who had just injected the Strengthening Potion, looked at him.

Then his gaze quickly shifted and he leaped toward the mber with the second-most severe injuries.

On the battlefield at this mont, the most seriously injured mber was the most conspicuous.

The deputy leader and another least injured mber were together, able to support each other.

In such a situation, a normal attack would target the weakest, and as the strongest leader, he should protect the weakest one.

But based on the opponent’s profile, he was a very cautious person, so there was a high probability he would bypass the weakest to make him miss and attack the second-weakest.

So he pounced toward the second-weakest without hesitation.

The team leader, the little giant, didn’t know what kind of state he was in; he felt like there was an endless rage in his heart wanting to burst out, his mind couldn’t contain anything else, yet his combat-related thoughts still operated normally.

And in the mont when the Giant fell beside the second weakest youth, He Ao reached the back of the weakest hulking man, the two n extrely close, He Ao could almost hear the man’s heavy breathing.

At that mont, the man seed to realize sothing, turned around sharply, and raised his heavy machine gun to smash towards his back.

ntal Disturbance!

The hulking man’s body stiffened.

In that instant, He Ao erged from Stealth, his sharp short sword piercing into the man’s heart, the blood glowing with red brilliance splattering out in a flash.

His body stiffened, the chaotic power inside him suddenly exploded, detonating his body.

Like a bloody flower blooming in a curtain of rain.

He Ao hadn’t expected that destroying the man’s energy nexus would cause such an effect, proving the energy within the man’s body was extrely unstable, even beyond his body’s constraint.

He activated Stealth once more and concealed his figure.

This violent explosion attracted the attention of the other four people, the surroundings montarily falling silent.

The rck family’s warriors lurking around had already hidden themselves, clearly aware that this was not a battle they could join.

A trace of terror flickered in the eyes of the remaining four.

Their terror stemd not from He Ao, but from such a grueso death.

But within a very short ti, the terror in their eyes was replaced by a savage madness.

He Ao watched the rapidly changing expressions on the faces of the four n.

At that mont, he felt he was not facing four ‘people,’ but four human-shaped exotic beasts dominated by brutality and slaughter.

Taking advantage of this brief mont of terror among the four, He Ao stealthily approached the leading Giant.

This ti, he didn’t target the seemingly weaker mber; while in Stealth, he thrust his sword into the Giant’s waist and abdon.

The hub of the energy pathways within the Giant’s body was right there.

However, just as his sword tip shot out, the Giant threw a punch at the incoming short sword, while at the sa ti grabbing a nearby armored vehicle and smashing it towards He Ao.

He Ao dodged the incoming armored vehicle by moving to the side.

He was certain the Giant had not detected him; the Giant was reacting entirely on instinct.

This keen perception was like that of a powerful exotic beast.

As He Ao retreated, the huge armored vehicle smashed into the ground, creating an intense noise.

The other three mbers were briefly distracted by the Giant’s unexpected action.

Their shift in attention lasted only a mont, but it was enough.

Although the three n were separated, they were all actually not far from the Giant, and when the Giant rose to rescue the second weakest mber, all of the team mbers had subconsciously closed in on him.

The proximity ant that the ti He Ao needed to appear beside any one of them was exceedingly short.

The sharp short sword pierced through the neck of the hulking man furthest from the Giant; he opened his mouth, blood rushing to his throat, making gurgling noises.

This man, apart from the Giant, had the lightest injuries and appeared to be the team’s deputy leader.

Because of his light injuries and confidence, his attention was not solely on himself; he also spared so to watch over his teammates.

For him, picking the softest target, the likelihood of He Ao attacking him was not high, which made him the least guarded of the four.

He Ao withdrew his short sword, and with a sound of flesh exploding, his figure vanished once more from everyone’s sight.

“Follow…

.”

The Giant rushed towards the spot where He Ao had just been standing, and at the sa ti, his slow, hoarse voice echoed around.

The remaining two husky n quickly gathered at his side, three n standing back-to-back, forming a triangular formation, warily watching their surroundings.

The three n sticking so closely made them harder to deal with than the five had been.

At this mont, the Giant seed to have given up on searching for He Ao, instead deciding to drag out the confrontation, seemingly anticipating that He Ao’s abilities had a ti limit.

He Ao held his short sword, standing not far away, frowning slightly.

This combat team’s thod of forcibly boosting strength must also have a ti limit; that thing couldn’t possibly sustain strength indefinitely, otherwise, they would have used it directly upon encountering He Ao, not waiting to be in crisis to bring it out.

The opponent was trying to outlast him, to see who would give in first.

He Ao did not hesitate, leaping towards Kaja’s corpse.

Just monts ago, he had been surrounded by five people and had to kill to break free, now with only three remaining, who had their backs to each other, he could simply run away.

But as he was about to reach Kaja’s body, a huge shadow lood over him.

Another prediction, huh?

This guy’s battle instinct is really like that of a monster.

At the sa ti, the other two burly n closed in behind He Ao.

If He Ao were to dodge backward now, he would run right into the two behind him.

The three would be able to pin him in the middle, and he could possibly be beaten to death even in Stealth mode.

These three n had no clue what he was thinking, they were simply fighting him as if he was soone who could turn invisible.

At this mont, He Ao didn’t retreat or advance but revealed his form and moved towards the burly man coming from his left rear.

The little giant in front of him hesitated briefly.

Normally, he should imdiately support his comrade.

But judging from the battlefield tricks He Ao had displayed before, there was a high chance that this was a feint, ant to lure him into aiding his teammate, then He Ao would take the opportunity to escape.

He faced a choice.

It didn’t take him long to make his decision.

He maintained his original course, believing that this could be another feint by He Ao.

Then he saw He Ao approach his teammate on the right rear.

ntal Disturbance!

The burly man aid to dodge but was montarily rooted to the spot, and a short sword pierced his left chest.

At the sa ti, the other burly man also ca to help.

He held a solid alloy stick that seed to co from cha wreckage, and just as He Ao’s sword pierced his teammate’s chest, his stick aid for He Ao’s heart from the back.

However, his movent froze midair.

A nondescript black bayonet had penetrated his temple.

At the handle of the bayonet, there was a sowhat calloused left hand.

This was Shadow’s bayonet, and since Ennie brought out this blade, He Ao always carried it with him, ready for any contingency.

Accompanied by two loud explosions.

He Ao turned around, right hand with a short sword, left hand with a bayonet, looking back at the little giant.

After the recent fight, Super mory had finally established a complete combat model of the little giant.

This ti, he did not activate Stealth but dashed towards the little giant in a flash, his chilly sword light slicing through the smooth raindrops.

Directly stabbing towards the little giant’s chest.

“Ah!!!”

The three-ter-tall giant roared and swung his hands towards him, intending to squash him into pulp.

And at that mont, He Ao’s figure suddenly disappeared.

Left?

Right?

A question arose in the mind of the enraged giant.

Left!

He raised his hand and slapped towards the lower left side of his chest.

Then, a sharp pain surged from below his right chest.

He Ao appeared, gripping the hilt of the short sword that was plunged into the giant’s body, and violently yanked it out.

The three-ter tall figure jerked violently, reaching up with both hands, trying to grasp He Ao, frail as a chick.

However, the mont he extended his hands, violent energy tore his body apart.

He Ao turned off Super mory, stumbled a bit, and almost fell to the ground.

He had thought that after advancing to D-level, he wouldn’t experience this state anymore, but after the advancent, he encountered even more intense battles.

He needed to advance to C-level as quickly as possible.

He stowed away his short sword and bayonet, and took step by step towards Kaja’s body.

At this ti, a frail and petite figure was clutching the wrist of the deceased Kaja, strenuously trying to drag Kaja’s body out of the mud.

“What are you doing?”

He Ao approached and asked hoarsely.

“I want to bury the High Priest.”

The small figure lifted its head, revealing a not so strong little boy.

He was no Transcendent, his body exceptionally frail.

It wasn’t far from where He Ao had just been fighting, and if even a bit of the battle’s aftermath or a carelessly thrown object had co this way, the boy might not have had a whole body left.

He wore a simple raincoat, raised his head, and stared stubbornly at He Ao.

“Was he a good man?”

He Ao glanced at Kaja, whose eyes were wide open, and asked calmly.

“No.”

The little boy shook his head.

“Was he a bad man?”

He Ao asked again.

“No.”

The little boy shook his head.

After answering, he seed to realize there was sothing off with his own words, and then he added, “Grandma said that he was responsible for the death of my mom and dad, but ever since he beca the High Priest, we never went hungry again.”

The way the rck clan kept its people from starving was simple.

Steal food from others.

He Ao was silent for a mont, then crouched down, his palm brushing over Kaja’s wide-open eyes, closing his eyelids.

He hoisted the body onto his back, and wobbled towards Andavi’s encampnt.

The battle had subsided without him knowing when, and those warriors who had been guarding Kaja at the command center were now lying on the armored vehicles, watching He Ao with complex looks.

The wilderness respected strength, as well as the strong.

Armored vehicles started up, clearing a path for He Ao.

The little boy glanced at Kaja’s body, stepped into the mud, and followed behind He Ao.

“Do you know about Dawn City?”

He Ao suddenly asked hoarsely.

“What place is that?”

The little boy looked at He Ao, puzzled.

“A place where you don’t have to go hungry.”

“Is that Heaven?”

“No.”

“Then, can I go there?”

“Yes.”

“Can I take my grandma with ?”

“Everyone can.”
