Intense pain, akin to soul rending, assailed him once more.
At this mont, the ntal power he could muster through Super mory was several tis stronger than before, with a higher concentration and more forceful impact.
When he mobilized these forces, He Ao could distinctly feel them rampaging erratically, like untad stallions.
These wild stallions charged about fiercely, and waves of excruciating pain from his soul ca crashing down upon him, threatening to tear apart He Ao’s soul in an instant.
He Ao endured the pain, cald his mind, and slowly began to sort and control these turbulent ntal forces.
Thanks to the ticulous control over ntal power he had honed during his C-level period, this vast and chaotic force finally beca docile under his command.
Seeing that the ntal forces of Super mory were completely subdued, He Ao breathed a sigh of relief.
If he hadn’t perfected his control over Super mory to the utmost back when he was at C-level, his soul might have been torn to shreds by these savage energies by now.
He Ao once again mobilized the power of Super mory and, after confirming there were no issues, he looked up and around.
His first impression at this mont was that his vision had beco ‘better’.
The observational range of Super mory synchronized with the range that He Ao’s eyes could see.
Super mory, unlike Divine Sense, couldn’t penetrate walls; where He Ao’s eyesight was blocked, Super mory couldn’t pass through either.
When he ascended from E-level to C-level, Super mory’s vision had gained the ability to see ‘soul’ shadows which resembled humans, and it could focus its power to strike at the soul.
Otherwise, it was mostly unchanged from E-level.
Of course, his physical attributes had further improved, agility included.
Now, Super mory had undergone a change in ‘field of vision,’ and although still unable to see through walls, the things that He Ao could see were ‘much clearer’.
If before, He Ao’s eyes were equivalent to a cara with five million pixels, his eyes now were akin to one with fifty million pixels.
Many details which previously required a macro lens to observe were now clearly visible before him.
He turned to look out the window, where distant high-rises and trees appeared with striking clarity, and even the previously indistinct figures of people were now discernible.
His visible distance had also increased several-fold from before.
And at this mont, He Ao could also see clearly the phantom soul shadows attached to people in the distance.
He had a premonition that now, if he used the power of Super mory to attach to soone’s soul, he might be able to sense their surface thoughts and possibly even influence their thinking to a certain extent.
However, this power paled in comparison to the terrifying ability used by Elijah through the Thought Stone, which could directly override the will and modify the choices of others.
That kind of power was likely what a C-level Super mory should truly possess.
Besides, He Ao could feel that the current power of Super mory was unusually restless; if his soothing efforts were even slightly amiss, these forces would rampage within his body and rip apart his soul.
Moreover, his physical attributes had indeed increased to 137 after activating Super mory, with no greater enhancent.
Super mory had advanced, but it hadn’t fully advanced.
The current state of Super mory seed to be between C and D-level, much stronger than D, with half a foot already across the threshold of C-level, but not wholly stepped in.
In terms of He Ao’s own sensations, it felt as though the power of C-level Super mory had not yet fully integrated with him, had not yet truly beco his own.
He Ao turned his attention back to the words ‘ritual incomplete’.
So, is the role of the ritual to ‘assimilate’?
Under the ritual’s effect, could one transform superordinary power that didn’t belong to oneself into power that mostly did?
Previously, when He Ao had advanced to C-level, he had conducted the ritual first before taking the Secret dicine, and the power had directly amalgamated with him.
Securing the Secret dicine before completing the ritual was a first for him, which gave him a rough glimpse into the true nature behind advancent rituals.
After all, even in the Copy World, the vast majority of people probably only get one chance to advance to C-level, which may lead them to subconsciously think, “If it’s like this for , it must be the sa for others,” without realizing the discrepancies in different situations.
Unlike He Ao, who has a wealth of advancent experience.
However, cases like ‘Super mory,’ which performs a ‘virtual promotion’ before the actual ritual, are likely still rare.
He Ao closed off his Super mory and rubbed the area between his eyebrows.
What cos next is to figure out a way to complete the ritual, but he currently doesn’t even know what the ritual entails.
Considering that upon advancing to E-level, he ‘absorbed’ the Secret dicine of a ‘waiter,’ and for D-level, it was the ‘Dancer,’ it’s very likely that the Talent Sequence for advancing to C-level wouldn’t be called Super mory either.
His only option is to follow the clue related to the Dancer.
Even in the Copy World, it’s like searching for a needle in a haystack.
A good friend would probably know, but asking questions to a good friend always cos at a cost—knowledge isn’t free.
Others might charge money, but a good friend demands soul and life.
Moreover, since Super mory cos from this good friend, asking them about it would be tantamount to blowing his own cover.
As He Ao grappled with his dilemma, the text in his field of view began to change slowly.
This ti, the system seed much slower.
[Task reward is currently being calculated]
[Original task reward: Martial Artist’s spear]
[Due to your comprehensive task assessnt of SSS, you’ve triggered a super godly ga lucky crit of epic proportions: reversing skies and seas, flipping the world upside down—a super duper ultra multiplied reward!!]
The ridiculously long na of this crit is, as always, beyond critique.
He Ao had already lost faith in the system’s ability to na crits and shifted his gaze downward.
Then, his eyes lit up.
[As you’ve reached an SSS rating for the first ti and saved millions of lives during the task, changing the course of world history, congratulations on earning the achievent ‘Legendary Hero’]
An unexpected surprise…
an achievent.
In line with the system’s usual behavior, achievents weren’t typically triggered on the first instance of a level upgrade; he hadn’t earned an achievent when he first received an S, nor an SS, but the rewards did co with a substantial upgrade in level.
It seems that his performance in completing the task this ti might be considered especially outstanding, even within the system’s standards for an SSS rating.
[Congratulations on triggering the achievent effect of ‘Legendary Hero’: Valid for only one ti, during the task in which the achievent was earned, the recipient may choose up to two rewards, and may obtain detailed information about one of the potential rewards before making a selection.]
Buy one, get one free!?
[Refreshing your rewards now.]
[Please choose one or two out of the following three rewards:]
[1.
The Forged Pages of Knowledge (C-level)]
[2.
Innate Qi Infusion (C-level)]
[3.
Two Hell Apostle chs (C-level) (Cos with three Ultra High-Performance Batteries)]
Choose two out of three.
All are genuine C-level options.
He Ao’s eyes swept over the three choices.
This was the most generous the system had ever been.
Two C-level Hell Apostle chs ca directly into play.
The advantage of chas is that they can ignore the operator’s own level and quickly grant an ordinary person C-level power for a short period.
If He Ao operated these two Hell Apostles well, he could receive far greater rewards than expected.
However, the system’s rewards were always fair.
The combined combat power of the two Hell Apostles was quite strong among C-levels, so the other two rewards from the system should be of similar value.
But the standard of the system’s evaluation actually differed from He Ao’s own standards.
An orange born in Huainan is an orange, while one born in Huai’an is a trifoliate orange (zhǐ).
When evaluating rewards, the system would take comprehensive factors into consideration.
For example, Talent Sequences of the sa level could be used directly upon gaining them, while Martial Arts required the pairing with cultivation techniques.
The system would not provide cultivation techniques, so as compensation, it would allocate a bit more to the Martial Arts rewards.
For instance, during the third Copy World settlent, He Ao chose the Martial Arts reward “Qi of Heaven and Earth (E-level) (bonus: a strand of ‘Innate Qi’)”.
The reward’s level was close to D-level but not quite there.
In the evaluation system of the system, E-level ‘Qi of Heaven and Earth’ plus a strand of D-level worthy Innate Qi was necessary to et the reward level criteria.
However, after He Ao absorbed those Qi of Heaven and Earth, he was almost imdiately pushed to the brink of breakthrough to D-level.
Therefore, He Ao had no doubt that this ‘Innate Qi Infusion’ would push him directly to C-level and even yield so excess Innate Qi for refining his Divine Sense.
After this Copy World experience, He Ao realized that Divine Sense truly was a fine thing, not only comfortable to use but also able to accompany the Soul everywhere, usable in both the Copy World and the main world.
Without the help of Divine Sense, he simply couldn’t have broken Elijah’s Sacrifice ritual, and killing Elijah wouldn’t have been so smooth either.
And after this Copy World experience, only one of his original Three Paths of Divine Sense remained.
The only issue was the cultivation technique; having this Innate Qi, he needed to be able to assimilate it.
The small Martial Arts book He Ao found in Yezola did not contain pages that would allow a breakthrough from D-level to C-level.
However, he had found a book on Martial Arts in Elijah’s underground library, the author being a biology professor from five hundred years ago nad Norsen, whose appendix included so Martial Arts residual pages he had collected.
Among those were pages from the sa book that He Ao possessed.
He Ao closed his eyes, recalling those residual pages he had morized in his mind.
Pages of a book coalesced together.
He Ao quickly compared these residual pages with the small book in his mory, determining their place in the book by matching similar patterns.
A few residual pages seed to be towards the back; He Ao couldn’t ascertain their exact locations but could only place them between approximate page numbers.
Among these residual pages, one matched the fifth page of the small book he was currently practicing.
This page taught how to condense ‘Qi’ into a vortex-like form and was probably the original sixth page of the book, but the lower section of text was missing.
However, it wasn’t a big problem.
Within the residual pages collected by Norsen, there was content similar to this page, and most of these residual pages contained text, with the direction of the Qi flow mostly consistent with the small book.
Norsen had already translated most of these texts, and although the wording varied slightly in each, the aning was more or less the sa.
It seed that the thod from D-level to C-level, although different schools existed, was largely similar in core ideas and processes.
He Ao let out a sigh of relief.
He shifted his focus back to the rewards page.
With cultivation thods and the marvelous use of Divine Sense, He Ao felt an urgent need to advance to C-level in Martial Arts, which made the second option, “Innate Qi Infusion,” a definite choice.
Of the remaining two rewards, “The Forged Pages of Knowledge” and “Hell Apostle chs,” he could choose one.
He was already quite familiar with the Hell Apostle chs, and he had never encountered “The Forged Pages of Knowledge,” which he surmised might be an extraordinary item and seed to be related to an extraordinary item involving his close friend.
He Ao didn’t hesitate and used his one opportunity from the “Legendary Hero” achievent to view detailed information on “The Forged Pages of Knowledge.”
Among the three options, he was very familiar with Hell Apostle, he could guess roughly about the Innate Qi Infusion, but the only thing he was unaware of was actually this extraordinary item option.
To be honest, the “Legendary Hero” achievent was indeed a good one, although it was a pity it could only be used once.
At the mont the thought of consulting information ca to He Ao’s mind, the view in front of him began to change gradually.
A golden page appeared in his sight, looking as if it had been ripped from a book, emitting a faint grey glow.
And below this image of the page were lines of complex introductory text.
[The Forged Pages of Knowledge]
[Legend has it that at the endless depths of the Abyss, there lies a record of all the truths in this world; an unknown explorer devoted his life’s energy to witnessing these truths by seeking the end of the Abyss.]
[At last, one day, he reached the end of the Abyss, where he encountered Knowledge itself.]
[The explorer died, but legend says he engraved all the truths he witnessed, compiling them into a book.]
[This book beca a thief of knowledge, it could steal any knowledge the holder desired from the endless depths of the Abyss, but those who stole knowledge were also watched by Knowledge itself, and all its masters eventually beca monsters imrsed in knowledge.]
[People called this book, the Book of Knowledge.]
[Of course, this page has little to do with the Book of Knowledge, it’s just a poor imitation and forgery of it.]
[However, it can also steal knowledge for you.]
[But please note, due to its crude forging technique, it cannot steal knowledge that is too powerful.]
[Please be aware, if you use it more than three tis, it may be damaged, and a damaged page cannot guarantee the authenticity of the knowledge.]
[Please be aware, those who steal too much knowledge will be pursued by it, so use it with caution.]
[From the remarks of an anonymous forger: Stealing knowledge up to three tis is safe; if you have already stolen thrice, find a way to distance yourself from it, or you might as well prepare a grave with a beautiful view for yourself.]
After reading all this information, He Ao’s first reaction was that this was a man-made extraordinary item; his second reaction was how detailed the information truly was.
If it were information obtained from an extraordinary item, it would likely only include simple instructions, not risks and techniques to avoid such risks.
Book of Knowledge.
The description ntioned that the explorer encountered Knowledge itself, which might be a taphorical term; it’s very likely he t the embodint of the God of Knowledge.
So, the so-called Book of Knowledge is an extraordinary item that can bypass rituals to steal knowledge from a close friend?
And this forged page from the Book of Knowledge seems like a weakened version of the Book of Knowledge’s power, while at the sa ti reducing the risk.
Ah, so this Forged Page of the Book of Knowledge is actually about getting sothing for nothing from a close friend?
He Ao always felt he would be embarrassed to do so.
Then he returned to the rewards page and made his choice.
“The Forged Pages of Knowledge” and “Innate Qi Infusion.”
