They were all Hell Apostle chs.
To a ch, nothing is scary; whoever is weaker is the one who ends up embarrassed.
However, even as Yvo’s rotation hadn’t stopped, he suddenly twisted to the side, dodging away as a greatsword stabbed from behind, piercing through his cha’s side waist.
If he had dodged even a fraction slower, that greatsword would have run through his cockpit.
This sword belonged to a ch piloted by Vinc.
Actually, Yvo was aware that Vinc’s cha piloting skills were superb; one-on-one, he was confident he could take out Vinc.
But facing four at once, he was clearly at a disadvantage.
After piercing Yvo’s cha, Vinc didn’t linger; he violently withdrew the greatsword, and the other three chs quickly closed in.
In that instant, Yvo opened the internal comm, “I’ll hold off these four in a mont.
You guys take the chance to break through from behind Vinc.
Vinc is cocky; he won’t have placed anyone behind him.
Tell the Old Foreman for , I’m sorry for being impulsive this ti.
I’ll take out Vinc; you don’t need to die with .”
They had actually been hiding in a warehouse next to the Ice Wolf Gang’s building; when Vinc started to encircle He Ao, they were already nearby.
Originally, the number of people Vinc had summoned far exceeded expectations, and plans had changed.
They should have been waiting for the right mont or imdiately breaking through the encirclent to leave.
But when Yvo saw his brother surrounded, he charged out without any hesitation, and the people who were with him also rushed out with him.
Although he always appeared to be cheerful, he had already planned an escape route for these brothers following him; they didn’t need to fall into a desperate situation with him.
“Yvo, what are you saying?
Do you think I’m a coward fearful of death?”
An oppressed, angry voice from a middle-aged man quickly ca through the comm channel, “I ca here today to trade lives, one for one.”
“Damn right,”
A voice chid in over the communicator, “My whole family died at the hands of those Ice Wolf Gang bastards.
If you hadn’t charged out, I would have.
I didn’t plan on leaving here alive today anyway.”
“I joined the mutual aid society because the Old Foreman promised a gun to have a chance at revenge.
Now that I see a chance for revenge before , you’re telling to run?
Why don’t you run?
If I wanted to live, I wouldn’t be here!”
These people didn’t co for a mission or to achieve so goal.
They ca purely for revenge, even if they had to die on the battlefield of retribution, and they were prepared to pay that price.
Whether the Ice Wolf Gang and Mining Consortium, or even the future of this city, mattered not to them.
A world without the Ice Wolf Gang and Mining Consortium was all that was important.
Yvo fell silent for a mont; he wasn’t really the leader of this team, just tasked by the Old Foreman with so basic tactical commands to try and take out Vinc.
He didn’t actually have the authority to order these old brothers around.
Those who wanted to live could have just sneaked away without following Yvo; by deciding to co out, they had actually made their final decision.
Even without these sudden interferences, if they had all focused on attacking Vinc, they would likely have died here as well.
In fact, the mutual aid society had carried out such missions more than once, and the people who went before disappeared without a trace, while Vinc was still very much alive.
This ti, the only difference was that they had managed to steal a cha.
Yvo, controlling the cha, barely parried the attacks from the three chas, then shouted, “I’ll create an opportunity soon.
If there’s soone back ho, sothing you’re attached to, if you still want to live, break through from behind Vinc.
If you want to stay, stay with and let’s kill this son of a bitch Vinc.”
“Don’t just kill him,” a sowhat fierce male voice ca through the communicator.
It was the one who had just joined the middle-aged man’s outcry, “I want to blow his ass off, make him unable to take care of himself for the rest of his life.”
“Hahaha!”
The communicator was suddenly filled with laughter.
Yvo also laughed aloud, but his hands didn’t stop moving.
All energy within the cha was instantly stimulated.
He first feigned retreat, then violently broke through the ch encircling him, and before anyone could react, he appeared right in front of Vinc, swinging his sword.
“Good timing!”
Vinc raised his twin swords to block Yvo’s attack, and it was at that mont, Vinc’s attention was drawn, exposing a small blind spot behind him that he couldn’t cover.
This was an opportunity, a chance to escape with their lives.
However, no one took this opportunity to flee for safety; everyone was fighting furiously.
chs tangled with each other, their sturdy steel twisting into shapes of hatred.
“Die,” “Die,” “Bastard,” “Son of a bitch,”
Mad laughter and curses echoed through the communicators.
The alarms of chs sounded one after another.
Those were the old brothers preparing to detonate their energy cores, determined to take those bastards down with them.
Yvo shut off his communicator, knowing he might stay here forever, but he had no regrets,
Next, it was his fight with Vinc.
However, at that mont, he saw a figure streaked with flas flit across his cha’s cara.
The figure darted through the battlefield, rushing into the chs attempting to detonate their energy cores, shattering the cockpit glass directly, and rescuing the pilots before quickly dispatching their opponents.
So had already started the detonation process.
He forcefully charged in and, with his powerful maneuverability, dragged these pilots out.
After rescuing them, he tossed them onto the rooftop of a nearby building.
Most of these n were slim and sinewy, with calluses on their hands and sun-darkened skin, the typical look of miners.
So had passed out, so were still conscious, but all were seriously injured, so even missing limbs.
However, it looked like their lives had been saved.
The conscious ones hurriedly took out what appeared to be powerful dicine and administered it to the others.
They were not afraid to die, but they didn’t truly wish for death.
Now that the enemies had been almost wiped out, they didn’t mind being saved.
If they could live longer, kill one more foe, it was all profit.
Only sixteen people ca with Yvo, fifteen of whom were quickly rescued, while Vinc’s subordinates, who were D-level, were also disposed of by the figure who was saving people.
Yvo watched the figure, muttering confusedly, “Nell?”
But, despite his confusion, his actions didn’t stop.
From the mont He Ao took action, he burst forth ferociously, tying down four chs including Vinc’s.
He Ao eyed the massive ch, effortlessly taking out the last D-level nearby,
Now in this aerial battlefield, only the four C-level chs of Vinc, He Ao, Nell’s older brother Yvo, and the middle-aged man who first offered He Ao the flying machine remained.
The middle-aged man seed to be the second-strongest fighter among the group after the older brother Yvo.
He alone had taken out two D-level chs, but his own ch also showed significant battle damage.
The middle-aged man was looking at He Ao, sending a ssage over the communicator to Yvo, “I told you your little brother was formidable…”
“I never realized he was this powerful.”
At that mont, Yvo was sowhat at a loss, but he still desperately suppressed Vinc.
Indeed, these twenty D-level, if they had solely surrounded He Ao, could have exerted significant pressure on him, making it not so easy for He Ao.
But with others drawing attention and dispersing the battle, these D-levels were like lambs to the slaughter.
They were dealt with easily.
Seeing this, the person with the biggest reaction was not the older brother Yvo but Vinc.
D-level, in other cities, could already command an underground gang in a district.
These were people Vince had cultivated for who knows how long, taking who knows how many years to groom, the backbone of the Ice Wolf Gang, they were also the future of the Ice Wolf Gang.
And now, the future was gone.
In fact, halfway through He Ao’s killing spree, Vince had wanted to rush out, but Yvo had firmly held him back.
Yvo fighting against four on his own, although sustaining many wounds, successfully hindered the actions of those four chas, buying He Ao precious ti.
When He Ao took down the last D-level, rage had completely engulfed Vince; he fiercely broke free from Yvo, even as Yvo’s giant sword stabbed into his cha.
“Kid, I swear I will kill you!”
In the blink of an eye, he was in front of He Ao, his giant sword chopping down, intending to slice He Ao in two, to smash him into a pulp.
However, He Ao was faster; he dodged the sword, his flight chanism’s power cranked to the max as he flew toward Vince’s cha.
A flash of red light crossed, and a component on the side of the cha was cut down—it was the cha’s loudspeaker.
Vince didn’t know why He Ao wanted to cut off his loudspeaker, but the strike was undoubtedly a full-on provocation.
He triggered the cannons on his cha to attack He Ao.
Up until just now, he had been cautious using these cannons because the Ice Wolf Gang headquarters was right here; it would be pretty embarrassing if he accidentally blew up his own base.
But at this mont, he couldn’t care less; this guy was tougher than he had imagined.
He Ao, relying on the superior chanical performance of the flight chanism, swiftly dodged the cannon fire.
And while he was entangled with Vince, the unpressured Yvo, fighting three was akin to a fish swimming in water, having already disabled the arms of two chas.
“You two bastards!”
Vince was beside himself with rage; these C-level chas were his last assets.
He swung his sword, preparing to quickly deal with He Ao, when Yvo, who had been fighting the other chas, suddenly exploded into action, slicing the cha in front of him in two and charging toward He Ao.
Vince’s attention was all on He Ao; he had no idea that Yvo, who had been moving between three chas before, could instantly kill one.
Yvo had been playing down his skills all along, lowering Vince’s guard; he was waiting for a chance when Vince let down his guard to deal a fatal blow, after all, his abilities were much diminished now.
Now, with all of Vince’s attention on He Ao, the opportunity had arrived.
Yvo burst forth, the jet engines at his waist spewing out fierce flas, his wide giant sword stabbing through Vince’s cha from behind in an instant.
The powerful super electromagnetic cannon was aid at Vince’s back.
In that mont, Yvo’s movents paused, because Vince’s super electromagnetic cannon had sohow found its way against his body.
Vince had guessed that he would be ambushed, trading one for one.
Yvo wasn’t afraid to trade his life, but He Ao knew Vince, the old fellow, was a C-level Transcendent; under such circumstances, he was certainly able to escape, which ant death for only Yvo.
He Ao didn’t hesitate; he rushed forward, his twin swords stabbing into Vince’s arm, which was controlling the super electromagnetic cannon, fierce flas spewing forth, dragging the arm away.
At this mont, Vince was attempting to open the cockpit door, but the door was locked shut, impossible to open; his expression changed abruptly, and he smashed the cockpit door glass with a punch, leaping out.
At this ti, Yvo pulled the trigger of the super electromagnetic cannon, and Vince’s automatic tir also ca to an end.
All of this happened in the blink of an eye, two dazzling rays of light ended in an instant.
Yvo’s super electromagnetic cannon pierced through Vince’s cockpit, while Vince’s super electromagnetic cannon, because of He Ao’s diversion, only managed to penetrate a small part of Yvo’s body…
and also passed through the Ice Wolf Gang headquarters building behind him.
This ti, He Ao and Yvo’s cooperation was perfectly in sync, just like when Nell and Yvo used to sneak out to prank and bully school tyrants when they were kids.
Countless alarm pop-ups filled Yvo’s cockpit, and at that mont, his cha was severely damaged—a shell had nearly pierced through the energy core.
Had He Ao not abruptly pulled away the cannon muzzle while Vincent was escaping, Yvo would have turned to dust by now.
Of course, Vincent’s cha was completely destroyed, falling from the sky and crashing to the ground.
Yvo took a deep breath and whispered, “Is it over?”
He was behind Vincent and hadn’t seen the mont Vincent abandoned the cha and fled.
The cha was now severely contracted, with red pop-up windows everywhere, even the cockpit had cracked open.
“No,” He Ao shook his head, looking at the dense spots of light that were closing in around them, “It has only just begun.”
In the distance, Vincent, who was suspended in the air by a hidden flyer, coldly watched those dots of light.
His bracelet vibrated, and a communication request ca through.
It was a tall man in ill-fitting military attire.
“Mr.
Vincent, the Mayor has heard that the mutual aid society’s thugs are attacking your residence and has specifically directed to lead the City Defense Army to suppress the thugs.”
The man, looking sowhat disheveled at Vincent, said with a chuckle.
“Please thank the Mayor for .”
Despite his smile, Vincent’s expression darkened as soon as he hung up.
The City Defense Army had been here for a while, but they had not stepped in.
The elected Mayor was from a different faction within the Mining Group than Vincent.
But because Vincent wielded the Ice Wolf Gang like a dark hand and bred many powerful warriors, his influence inside the Consortium was significant.
This assault was not a real attack but a trap set by soone within the Consortium aiming to usurp his power.
The cha was easily stolen; the cockpit was locked down.
They let the mutual aid society and himself fight to a mutual defeat, and then they would co out under the guise of eradicating the society to clean up the aftermath.
Vincent’s face was grim; if he hadn’t hidden his strength, he would already be dead.
…
“One, two, three…
seven…
nine…”
He Ao counted the number of Blazing Angel chs surrounding them.
Nine C-level Seraphim.
Rock City was not a tropolis; to have so many Seraphim ant the City Defense Army must have pulled out all the stops.
Behind these Blazing Angel chs followed various other combat weapons.
At this mont, He Ao could almost guess that their “big brother” was likely the mastermind.
Considering their preparations, it seed they were to take action tonight.
So people must have learned about their operation and set a trap, using them to kill Vincent or to whittle down Vincent’s forces.
And then eliminate all loose ends.
Tonight, in this place, He Ao was actually the unexpected bystander caught in the middle of it all.
He was not part of the original sche.
“Search for all thugs from the mutual aid society nearby, execute them on sight without rcy,” commanded the cha that appeared to be the leader, instructing the other eight Seraphim as they turned their attention to He Ao and Yvo.
