304: Chapter 304: Hope Building (Happy Dragon Boat Festival/Please Favorite, Subscribe, and Vote for Monthly Tickets) 304: Chapter 304: Hope Building (Happy Dragon Boat Festival/Please Favorite, Subscribe, and Vote for Monthly Tickets) The abrupt downpour continued to fall from the sky.

The noisy factory was busy, not amidst the usual clamor of cold machinery, but rather in the hallways, elevators, and amongst people.

The nine individuals whom Hank had brought to Ronald Camp because they had just entered the factory a few days earlier, still had a bit of energy left.

In addition to them, on this floor, there were several other camp mbers who had been separated earlier, totaling twenty-five people, all from Ronald Camp and lured by Hank.

It was because of these people that the young man with the shovel was able to quickly assemble a workforce to confront the “Foreman”.

He Ao recruited them, but didn’t start clearing out the foren right away, instead dividing the twenty-five into two groups, fifteen in one and ten in the other.

The group of ten was responsible for staying behind, while the group of fifteen followed him down to the fourth floor, unlocking the passage between the third and fourth floors, and entering the third.

Speed is of the essence in war.

Before the power outage had even stopped, he had already had Eve hack into the local network connections, invading all the intelligent devices in the factory.

When the power was restored, they successfully cut off the factory’s connection to the outside world.

Kyle was very controlling by nature.

To prevent betrayal, he required all intelligent devices in the factory to be connected to the internal network and under his supervision, which actually made things easier for He Ao.

By the ti He Ao went downstairs, the gang mbers on the third floor and below had no resistance at all.

They hadn’t recovered from the recent slaughter, and over a hundred fully ard individuals were disard by just fifteen weakened Wilderness Wanderers.

He Ao then called down more people, rummaged through the warehouse on the first floor for a large cache of weapons, and distributed them to the Wilderness Wanderers.

Indeed, if those gang mbers had used those weapons to resist, He Ao might have survived, but most of those Wilderness Wanderers attempting to rebel would have beco lives lost in the gunfire.

That was why He Ao had targeted Kyle as a breakthrough point, eliminating Kyle and his diehard followers before entering the factory area to rescue the Wilderness Wanderers.

Instead of directly entering the factory area to organize a rebellion with the Wilderness Wanderers.

These Wanderers were unard and weak.

If they were to fight against the fully ard gang mbers, it would be a one-sided massacre.

By prioritizing the defeat of the leaders and core mbers of these gangs, shattering their will to fight, and then organizing a takeover would be difficult at first but easier later on, while also avoiding many unnecessary sacrifices.

After taking control of these gang mbers and weapons, He Ao sent people with higher status among the surrendering mbers to persuade those guarding the warehouse and the doors, bringing them under control as well.

Then he personally led another group to clear out the “Foren” on various floors.

Apart from Kyle and his loyal followers, the most determined to resist in the factory were these “Foren”.

The gang mbers were easily swayed because they were paid to die, and their inco had little to do with the factory’s operations.

On the one hand, the inco of these “Foren” was directly related to the factory’s profits, and if the factory shut down, their financial path would be cut off as well.

On the other hand, they were the front line tornting the Wilderness Wanderers, the direct participants, accumulating the most hatred in the hearts of the Wanderers.

They feared that if they surrendered, they would not fare well in the hands of the Wanderers.

Hence their resistance was the most stubborn.

He Ao had no intention of wasting words with them.

The blood on the hands of these “Foren” could turn rivers red.

He led his people from the fourth floor up to the thirty-fifth, carving a path through the entire factory building.

By the ti everything settled, it was nearly Daybreak, with the rain still falling from the sky.

Thanks to He Ao’s quick initial response, the entire factory fell into the control of the Wilderness Wanderers.

He grouped the peripheral gang mbers together, halted the trucks from leaving the warehouse, and had Eve modify the transport plans in the na of factory repairs, telling the incoming trucks to stay out of the factory for now.

In that brief night, he had seized control of the entire factory.

But this was only temporary, the Hunter Gang was not limited to these people, and Kyle’s loyalists were not confined to those in the factory.

Although He Ao had relied on Eve to cut off the factory’s external communications, by dawn at the latest, the Hunter Gang would realize that sothing was amiss.

At that ti, dealing with the Hunter Gang would be a minor issue.

If the City Defense Army were summoned, nearly all of the six thousand Wilderness Wanderers here were people with expired visas.

According to the laws of Dawn City, they would be directly expelled into the wilderness, without even a chance to appear in court.

For them, with their overtaxed physical conditions, heading into the wilderness was effectively a death sentence.

Moreover, He Ao couldn’t be sure whether Carven and his bodyguards had brought any communication devices, or if they had contacted the Nord Group at the last mont.

Which ans the real ti they had was even shorter than that.

After securing the situation, He Ao didn’t hesitate to form a managent core of forty people, based on the original twenty-five from the camp and an additional fifteen who had perford exceptionally well in battle.

He then extended this managent core downwards, dividing the six thousand-plus Wilderness Wanderers into thirty-five teams.

He assigned one of the forty people to each team as a team leader, and one leader for every seven teams, then organized for them to leave the factory area in batches in an orderly manner.

Most of the first team consisted of those who had been fighting alongside him from the twenty-sixth floor.

He sent these people to the warehouse area to drive out several dozen trucks.

In the wilderness, driving was a basic skill.

The youth who had escaped the factory had learned to drive at the age of eleven or twelve.

Moreover, most trucks in Dawn City ca equipped with an automatic driving system.

The driver only needed to act as an observer and safety officer, making tily adjustnts to the system; the operation was mostly foolproof.

He Ao arranged for his people to unload the cargo from the trucks that were carrying it.

These goods were mostly basic industrial products, predominantly for civilian use, but so were typical standard military supplies.

It was unclear whether they were for the City Defense Army or the rcenary groups outside the city.

However, He Ao didn’t have ti to contemplate these matters.

He ordered the frail Wilderness Wanderers into the empty cargo compartnts of the trucks, set the destinations, and sent them off one by one.

“Leader, where are we going?”

The young man who first took up a shovel asked quietly beside He Ao; he was the leader of the first team.

“Hope Building,”

He Ao watched the convoy disappear into the rain, “Once you get there, soone will be there to et you.”

Hope Building was a huge high-rise located in the northwest of Aston District.

It once served as the headquarters for the Hope Group.

After Hope Group relocated, it beca a nest for gang mbers and vagrants, the largest slum of Dawn City housing tens of thousands.

He Ao naturally didn’t have an informant inside the Hope Building, but Viktor did.

His deal with Viktor stipulated that if Kyle attacked him, he would help Viktor eliminate Kyle.

In exchange, Viktor would help settle the Wilderness Wanderers rescued from the factory at the Hope Building.

As the controller of Dawn City’s largest underground gang, Viktor indeed had the power to do so.

Hope Building had a mix of different people, and it harbored great hostility towards the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Dawn City governnt.

Inside, there was no imdiate worry of being chased out by the City Defense Army, making it a short-term safe haven.

Of course, this wasn’t a long-term solution.

The sudden influx of more than six thousand people into Hope Building could cause resource conflicts severe enough to alter the internal structure of the entire building.

Should the Wilderness Wanderers attempt to settle there long term, they would inevitably clash violently with the building’s original forces, which was beyond Viktor’s ability to handle.

All he could do was try his best to have these Wilderness Wanderers stay at Hope Building a little longer.

He Ao did not insist on more.

If he wanted the Wilderness Wanderers to stay in Dawn City for an extended period, so fundantal changes were necessary.

Just then, a soft sound reached his ear, “Decryption complete.”
