However, this ‘T’ was not symtrical, with a deep and endless corridor on the left side, and a short one on the right that could be seen in its entirety at a glance.
The security room of the factory was located at the very end of the right corridor.
He Ao once again took out the stack of bills from his pocket.
He first took out a 1 federal coin, then shook his head, hesitated for a mont, put it back, and then grabbed a 5 federal coin.
In a blink of an eye, he folded it into a small triangle, held it between his index and middle finger, added a little spin, and gently tossed it.
The bill landed at the end of the right corridor.
Then he turned and walked back.
Attraction could be used on a specific target or on everyone within a designated area, but the broader the area, the weaker the effect.
The effect of that 5 federal coin bill should only last for two minutes.
But two minutes were enough.
He Ao walked back to the entrance of the machine room, pushed open the iron door, entered the room, and then locked the door behind him.
At that mont, the sound of a scuffle faintly reached his ears from outside.
He Ao casually picked up the patch cable that was lying on the cabinet by the door, plugged one end into a server’s data port, and the other end into his wristband.
“Eve, help obtain administrator privileges,” he said.
Attacking such a machine room’s firewall system from the external network would require a huge amount of computing power and was easily detectable.
However, attacking from the internal network was much easier.
Ding——
About two minutes later, a soft chi reached He Ao’s ear.
This was the sound of Eve successfully obtaining the highest administrator privileges for the machine room.
Almost simultaneously, the noises outside quieted down.
He Ao looked up at the surveillance cara overhead.
The cara continued recording the scene inside the machine room, but its footage could no longer be seen on the monitors in the security room.
As soon as she had secured the permissions, Eve had pulled up the surveillance video from the sa ti yesterday when no one was entering or exiting, and she had overlaid that over the current live feed.
“Eve, list all the surveillance caras currently in use within the factory,” he whispered.
One by one, the caras were enurated.
After gaining control of the machine room’s permissions, He Ao’s first task was to figure out the real layout of the factory.
He activated Super mory and began switching through the cara feeds.
There were few caras within the factory, none above the fourth floor inside the workshops, but each floor had one in the corridors outside the workshops.
From the first to the third floor, suffice it to say, there were scarcely any caras except for in the machine room, with just a few at the boundary between the third and fourth floors, i.e., between the administrative and factory areas.
The number of caras outside the factory building was, on the other hand, much larger, covering most of the area, with so even outside the factory’s periter walls.
He Ao noted down the layouts of these areas and pieced together a ntal image of the entire factory environnt, combining it with the paths he himself had walked.
Then, he turned off Super mory and pulled up the recorded footage from the factory entrance’s cara.
Near the point in ti when the youth had escaped, two luxury sedans had driven into the factory.
Looking at these two sedans, He Ao pondered for a mont before he checked the current status of all the lights in the factory.
All the switches in the factory were smart-controlled, which ant they were connected to the main control system, and their status could be directly observed from the backend system.
Of course, He Ao could also operate them; for instance, he could turn off all the lights at once.
Most of the lights on the first and second floors were on.
There were fewer lights on the third floor, where the chairman’s office and the offices of so senior presidents were located.
This floor also had the best soundproofing in the entire factory.
He Ao focused on the light control for the chairman’s office, which was off.
This ant that there should be no one in the office right now.
If the chairman wasn’t in the chairman’s office, where could he be?
Then his gaze settled on the small conference room on the third floor, where the lights were on.
He Ao observed the option for this eting room, where the ‘big boss’ of the factory, the leader of the Hunter Gang, Kyle, was most likely inside.
He Ao put down his wristband and pondered for a mont.
In fact, this mission was a bit more difficult than the previous ones because this ti there was no clear target.
Previous missions would provide specific locations and characters, and operations could revolve around the incidents or characters involved.
However, this mission was about ‘searching for a new ho.’
A new ho was an entirely abstract description.
What exactly is a new ho?
What qualifies as a new ho?
It’s like the difference between assigned-topic essays and open-topic essays.
With assigned-topic essays, you write directly on the given topic; with open-topic essays, you have to choose the subject first.
On this occasion, the first issue He Ao faced was selecting a ‘new ho.’
It was a problem that both he and Ronald faced.
Initially, the camp had planned new settlents, more than one, in fact, but all of these were on the wilderness.
After reaching the new settlents, they would have to clear the land, settle down, fend off exotic beasts, and build defense systems—all from scratch.
During this process, many more would die, and it was during such tis that many camps were completely wiped out.
Even if the camp managed to survive and thrive, another A-class exotic beast migration would set everything back, starting a new cycle all over again.
This is the harsh reality Wilderness Wanderers face.
Everyone is struggling to survive in the wilderness.
You never know if tomorrow or death will co first.
But there are actually places in this world that are not attacked by exotic beasts, where one doesn’t have to risk their life to settle.
Those places are the Fortress Cities.
That’s why He Ao chose to enter the city, because it’s the most ideal ‘new ho’.
But this ‘ho’ isn’t so welcoming.
There may be no exotic beasts in the city, but the Wanderers are not welcod there either.
This unwelconess isn’t written on people’s faces, but enforced through various regulations and rules.
The people who created these city rules do not welco Wilderness Wanderers.
What He Ao needs to do now is to make it possible for Wilderness Wanderers to stay in the city, to create the basic conditions for a ‘new ho’.
This goal is difficult to achieve alone given the current level of strength, so He Ao must unite all the forces he can.
For instance, the thousands of Wilderness Wanderers imprisoned in this factory, who have felt the city’s unwelconess and can no longer survive in the wilderness due to physical deficits, if saved, they would beco staunch supporters of He Ao.
Three people make a crowd, a thousand make a force.
With ‘force’ in hand, He Ao would be qualified to stand outside the chessboard and achieve his goals.
To save these Wilderness Wanderers, he needed to deal with Kyle, to remove the Hunter Gang.
He Ao withdrew his thoughts and opened all the smart device interfaces in the small conference room.
Smart TV, smart ceiling light, smart water dispenser…
Each smart device appeared on his wristband’s nu.
He Ao carefully searched, and then opened the smart TV tab.
Upon opening, the wristband turned into a smart TV remote control, which could be operated by voice.
At the mont, the wristband showed that the smart TV was in use, indicating soone was likely giving a presentation.
He Ao didn’t operate the smart TV, but instead opened the settings interface and saw the model of the TV, a nshu Group CK1000 ultra-thin smart TV.
“Eve, does this TV model have a cara?”
“It does.”
“Pop-up or under-screen?”
“Under-screen.”
“Eve, try to bypass the control system and activate the TV’s cara.”
The nshu Group is the best software system developer in the Federation, and it’s very difficult to breach their system from the outside network, but on an internal connection, simply planting a Trojan would do the trick.
After a while, an image captured by the cara was transmitted to He Ao’s wristband.
Two people were in the fra.
One of them, dressed in a sharp suit and looking refined, was standing in front of the TV.
He had a head full of fluffy blonde hair, looking very much like a golden lion.
This person was Kyle, the founder of Kyle Manufacturing Company.
He Ao shifted his gaze to the other individual, soone he expected, yet was slightly surprised to see.
The CEO of Nord Investnt Bank, Carven.
He Ao wasn’t actually surprised to find soone from the Nord Group here.
It was evident that Kyle, due to over-expansion, had run into cash flow problems and was now deeply in debt.
The debt he had taken on was likely far greater than his current cash flow and fixed assets, and construction of new cities and factories still needed ongoing investnt.
In such a situation, it would be hard for him to secure a loan from a bank with low costs.
So now he could only give up equity and turn to the investnt market for funding, but the type of business he was in, which even Satan would praise, would be hard to explain clearly, and even harder to justify to investors.
After all, this venture could potentially harm one’s reputation, so investors who cared about their reputation might not want to invest, while those who didn’t might not have enough funds.
So which investnt bank in Dawn City is so nefarious that it wouldn’t mind tarnishing its reputation and is solely profit-driven while able to provide him with sufficient support?
If He Ao were in Kyle’s shoes, he too would choose Nord Investnt Bank.
A man’s reputation follows him like his shadow.
It can’t be helped.
Therefore, when the young man ntioned the factory was short of money, and the Boss said he would resolve this problem soon, He Ao had almost guessed that Kyle must be bringing investors for a site visit this ti, and these investors were likely from the Nord Group.
When he saw the tight security at the factory, along with the two black sedans in the monitors, he knew that this visitor from the Nord Group probably had a high status,
This was also why He Ao could almost be certain Kyle was in that room when he saw the lights on in the small conference room.
However, what surprised He Ao was that Carven had co to et Kyle in person.
He had originally thought it would be so senior manager from Nord Investnt Bank, not the big boss himself.
As He Ao watched the contents on the screen, he casually hit the record button, then fell into brief contemplation.
