He Ao slowly moved forward, crossed the accumulated snow and stood at the summit of the snow mountain.
He looked down, seemingly seeing the continuous mist covering the snow mountain below.
He raised his head, looking at the clouds and sky above.
The fierce winds blew across his body, bringing with it continuous snow.
Here, it’s the closest place in the whole world to the sky.
The entire peak was extraordinarily empty, not a single person was there.
"The prophecy failed? Or was I tricked?"
After a brief pause, He Ao raised his head and tentatively called out, "Director?"
The fierce wind and snow muffled his voice, the clouds in the sky continued to roll as usual, with no response or any strange phenonon appearing, as if nothing had happened.
After a mont of reflection, He Ao raised his hand again, and the surrounding wind and snow quickly condensed into ice blocks, gathering in front of him to form a line of ice sculpture text.
[Director Li, the situation is urgent, return imdiately upon sight.]
Then, he raised his hand, and this ice sculpture was lifted by the wind, standing at the top of the entire mountain.
Then he glanced again at the desolate mountain peak and shook his head. Accompanied by the sound of a speeding train, his silhouette disappeared into the vast snow.
And after his departure, the ice sculpture remained where it was, quickly buried by the fierce wind and snow.
And in this wind and snow, there seed to be a subtle flash of thunder, rapidly circling around these ice sculptures, and then disappearing into the hazy snow.
——
Central Earth’s Space Agency
He Ao walked into the agency’s hall, looking at the screen in the hall.
"How is the Dawn Leader?" Liu Zhengyun, who stood aside, asked softly.
"Lin Chichi has captured him," He Ao shook his head, "He’s just a puppet pushed to the forefront, the information we can extract is limited."
Returning from Costala Peak, He Ao had co directly to the space agency, but throughout the process, Lin Chichi kept reporting the situation of that small courtyard to him, and his clone was also stationed there.
At this point, they had controlled the self-proclaid Dawn Leader ’Elderly,’ and were preparing to send him to Central Earth for detainnt on a plane.
That Elderly was essentially just a mortal, so controlling him was fairly easy.
As they spoke, He Ao’s gaze was already fixed on the photo displayed on the hall’s screen.
The background of that photo was different from the previous one, clearly a new photo had been taken, and in the screen, the Navigator spaceship seed bigger than before, with the surroundings appearing more distant.
"Is it still moving forward?" He Ao looked down, quickly asking Liu Zhengyun.
"Yes," Liu Zhengyun nodded, gazing at the screen, "According to the space agency’s calculations, it’s approaching our planet, and the speed is increasing."
He Ao stared at the photo.
The Navigator spaceship’s ’forward’ movent probably wasn’t just a phenonon caused by the convergence of two spatial regions.
After all, the essence of the Navigator spaceship doesn’t reside in the ti-space of the Main World, theoretically, it could appear anywhere, even directly in the sky of the Main World.
This does not affect the distance between its ti-space and that of the Main World.
But the Divine Being orchestrating the Navigator spaceship, deliberately placed it at the edge of the star system of the Main World this ti, and kept making it ’move forward,’ likely not just intending to perform a re spectacle.
A requirent for a certain ’ritual’?
When the Navigator spaceship reaches the Main World, does it signify it has completely traversed the boundary between the two ti-spaces, arriving from its own ti-space to the Main World’s ti-space?
’Sky Ship Docking the Firmant’
Is this the true aning the stele prophecy wants to convey?
When the Navigator spaceship docks, does it signal the tolling of the doomsday bell?
Amidst contemplation, He Ao directly asked, "Estimated ti of arrival outside our planet?"
This ti, the response to He Ao did not co from Liu Zhengyun, but a young man who seed to be a researcher. He looked at He Ao, with a flicker of brilliance in his gaze, "According to our estimates, it will be the fastest in three days, and the slowest in seven days."
Before He Ao could ask further, he quickly explained, "Currently, we haven’t found the acceleration pattern of this spaceship. As the data increases, the closer we co to finding the pattern, the more precise the timing will be."
"Is there a possibility," Liu Zhengyun softly asked from the side, "that tomorrow morning, we could wake up to find the spaceship directly overhead?"
"That possibility cannot be ruled out," the researcher smiled, "Judging by the recent photos taken, the Navigator spaceship’s mode of movent is different from what we imagine a spaceship to be,"
He glanced at Liu Zhengyun, "Our telescope once captured a teor heading towards the Navigator spaceship, yet that teor passed through above the spaceship as if it wasn’t there at all. Furthermore, calculations of the gravitational effects near the spaceship showed no evidence of its existence."
"So, are you implying that the spaceship is essentially a projection? Not truly present here?" Liu Zhengyun pondered aloud.
"What we can confirm is that the ship seems to lack physical presence in our star system, yet those chaotic electromagnetic signals accurately locate the Navigator spaceship." The researcher explained calmly.
"Currently, this ship is in a peculiar overlapping state," He Ao interjected, "but it should indeed be able to affect us."
He looked at Liu Zhengyun, "Dean Liu, I’ll take over here now, I rember you have quite a bit to handle at the Research Institute?"
"What about your own matters?" Liu Zhengyun asked calmly.
"My matters have temporarily been dealt with," He Ao nodded subtly, turning to the screen, "I’d like to rest here for a while and observe how this spaceship specifically approaches."
"Alright," Liu Zhengyun didn’t argue, nodding, "I’ll head back to the city, you can call anyti if you need anything."
"Alright." He Ao nodded slightly, watching him leave.
"Dean He," At this mont, the young researcher walked over, looking at He Ao, took out a notebook and a pen, "Could you help with an autograph? I’ve read a lot of your hero stories on the forum, you’re incredible."
He Ao was slightly stunned, glanced at the young researcher, accepted the notebook and pen, and with a silent laugh said, "Are you also from the Research Institute?"
"Yes," the young man nodded, "I seem young to you, but I’m actually almost forty. I’m a D-level Transcendent, with the Talent of ’Researcher,’ not a combat-type Talent Sequence, so I haven’t joined fieldwork, but work in the research departnt performing logistics functions."
He glanced at the wall photos, "Previously, several celestial phenona occurred, Director Li allocated quite a bit of resources to the aerospace sector, and I was reassigned here."
"You’re almost forty?" He Ao finished signing, looked sowhat surprised at the young man, "You do look young then, I thought you were at most thirty,"
He returned the notebook, laughing, "And you don’t need to use formal language with , in terms of age, I’m still much younger than you, just call He Ao."
"That won’t do," the researcher paused, seemingly surprised by He Ao’s accessibility, he softly said, "I’ll still call you Dean He."
With these words, he excitedly packed up the paper and pen, then raised his hand, pointing to a spot in the middle of the hall, "Dean He, there’s a sofa over there, and it’s the best position for the field of view in the entire hall. If you want to rest, you could also relax there."
"Alright, thank you." He Ao scanned the direction he pointed, nodded slightly.
Then he moved, contemplating while walking to the edge of that location, and sat down.
He Ao didn’t really need to rest, but this position indeed offered a better view.
The hall had nurous screens, not just a single photo of the Navigator, but various angles captured on different screens.
Sitting in this position helped He Ao ’see’ more information.
He had long set his sights on this position, and even without a reminder from the researcher, he would still have co here.
Quickly, he scanned through all the photos being processed in the hall, constructing a rough model of the Navigator’s flight in his mind.
Judging by the direction, this thing was indeed headed for the Main World.
Sothing had to be done before it reached the Main World.
He Ao rubbed his brow.
The information he had gathered was still too little, and he had no idea how the mastermind behind this was managing to force the Navigator through.
If that mastermind was truly the God of Machinery, why had He accelerated the pace suddenly?
Just as He Ao pondered this, his downward glance suddenly revealed an unclosed tal door on the console in front of him.
There was a barely noticeable gap.
Of course, this gap itself was nothing significant, but the instant he saw it, He Ao had a vague feeling of a ’stirring.’
A ’stirring’ of fate, as if his destiny was montarily disturbed by so force.
He Ao imdiately stood up and walked to the console, opening the not fully closed tal door.
The nearby staff looked at him with so confusion.
The glowing mainfra equipnt ca into He Ao’s view, but his focus was not on the blinking lights. Instead, he was drawn to a note in front of the mainfra.
He picked up the note, on which sturdy handwriting said,
[What causes the feelings of two people separated by thousands of miles to quickly warm and draw near? It’s because they continually communicate and exchange gifts.]
The ink on the note had dried long ago, seemingly placed there quite so ti before.
This handwriting was the sa as the ’prophet’s’ note He Ao had just seen on the elderly man’s bedside cabinet.
He Ao quietly looked at the note.
It seed to be so kind of riddle?
This guy never speaks straightforwardly.
He Ao took a deep breath, suppressing his urge to hit soone.
Then he retracted his thoughts and began to ponder what this note was actually trying to say.
The note superficially ntioned online friendship or romance, but what if it didn’t actually refer to real ’people’?
Two individuals communicating over thousands of miles.
Could ’people’ be replaced with other things?
For instance, worlds? The Main World and relics?
Thousands of miles, an abstract spatial concept, specifically aning extrely far?
So, essentially, the prophecy was about the relationship between the Main World and the relics?
Based on He Ao’s previous deduction, the Main World and the relics were rapidly drawing closer.
The prophecy stated that the strengthening connection between the two was due to ’communication’ or ’gifts.’
But what communication could exist between the Main World and the relics?
They didn’t have phones nor delivery services, and couldn’t engage in a cross-temporal long-distance relationship.
Upon this realization, He Ao abruptly stopped.
He suddenly realized, there was ’delivery’ between the Main World and the relics.
Buzz——
Just at that mont, He Ao’s phone rang.
He picked up the phone and answered the call.
"He Ao," Liu Zhengyun’s slightly surprised and uncertain voice ca from the phone, "the relic passage is about to open again."
He Ao: ?
He lifted his head and quickly said, "Got it, I’ll be there right away, wait for ."
Then he turned around, looking at the staff beside him, pointed at the tal door where he found the note and quickly asked, "Whose workstation was this originally?"
"There’s no specific person here, I think," the staff pondered as he gazed at the tal door, "It’s a shared computer, usually for so docunt work; generally, no one uses it."
"Alright." He Ao nodded slightly, pulling back his thoughts, and swiftly told Liu Zhengyun over the phone, "I’m on my way."
——
The next instant, with the sound of a train whistle piercing through the void, Liu Zhengyun raised his head and saw He Ao in front of him.
"So, what’s the situation?" He Ao didn’t pause, asking quickly.
"You know, we have a prophecy-type Transcendent item called the Ring of Destiny, ranking no lower than the fragnt of the Eye of the World," Liu Zhengyun explained quickly while walking forward, "Every so often, this item ’prophesies’ the information and location of the relic passage opening, both Moonlight and World Tree possess similar items, but we always get the information a bit earlier than them."
"So this ti, it prophesized the next relic opening ti?" He Ao asked swiftly.
"The ti is tomorrow," Liu Zhengyun replied slowly, "This ti seems much more urgent than before; past prophecies usually gave us a few days’ lead ti to prepare."
"Perhaps, this ti the passage opening was inherently ’sudden,’" He Ao mused.
"What do you an?" Liu Zhengyun looked at He Ao puzzled, "The relic passage opening, is soone influencing it too?"
"Not necessarily a ’person’," He Ao contemplated.
He raised his hand and looked at the note in his palm.
The Main World and relics indeed have ways of ’communication.’
And that is the relic passage.
People entering the passage, and the items these people bring out from the relics, are all reinforcing the ’interaction’ between the Main World and the relics.
Perhaps, this is one of the reasons why the ’connection’ between the Main World and the relics is becoming tighter and their distance increasingly closer?
