Under the dim, shattered void, a figure landed on the twisted alloy edge.
The figure’s appearance was fuzzy and chaotic, enveloped in a faint purple glow, resembling the outline of a youthful figure.
The surrounding twisted gray light, upon the appearance of the youth, gathered swiftly like venomous snakes discovering prey.
The twisted pollution writhing fiercely in the void, fluctuating from the world’s depths to the surface, causing the dark void to ripple.
The youth within the glow gazed at the gray light, montarily stunned.
Evidently, he hadn’t anticipated the nature of these gray illuminations.
Yet, as the gray light surged, his body did not cease; he leapt, directly jumping off the edge of the spaceship.
The twisted gray illuminations instantly sward, stirring the void into a vortex, rushing at the youthful silhouette.
In an instant, the gray illuminations nearly reached him, appearing behind the youthful figure.
At that mont, the faint purple glow enveloped his body, transmitting so kind of disturbance from the world’s depths to the surface.
An invisible wall seed to erge behind him, blocking the snake-like gray light.
Soon, though, this wall was ’bitten’ open by the gray illuminations, which rushed violently forward.
But with that brief delay, the youth’s figure reached the center of the sheer black void.
A seemingly old tal door stood here, surrounded by cleanliness, devoid of the gray light.
The mont the gray illuminations arrived, layers of invisible patterns lit around the door, resembling a dense array of runes.
The gray light slithered around the runes, crashing into them and beginning to frantically consu them.
Instantly, the runes flickered intensely.
The youthful silhouette turned, leaning against the tal door, gazing at the gray light outside.
The runes’ brightness dwindled, yet the surging gray light was depleted.
When the last wisp of gray light vanished, the flickering rune array dimd considerably, but ultimately steadied.
Subsequently, the floating runes faded, restoring transparency.
The youth leaned against the tal door, raising his head, surveying his surroundings.
He stood in a vast chamber, its contents entirely erased, two enormous circular holes stood on either end, faint gray light covering their rims, shimring under the dim starry night, seemingly waiting.
The gray light pursuing the youthful figure into the chamber was just a small portion.
The youth withdrew his gaze, turning back to the tal door.
The chamber was nearly devoid of anything, all destroyed, even the edge alloy had an unusual twist.
Only the tal door and its vicinity remained intact, even unmarred.
The array that just lit up also suggested so invisible force was safeguarding this door.
The tal door appeared to lead to the next chamber—the ship’s foremost, top compartnt.
The youth lifted his hand, his purple glow-covered palm touching the door.
The door, shaped like a door, had a seamless junction with the wall, distinguished only by unique patterns from the surrounding wall.
At first glance, it seed not a true ’door’ but a door painted on the wall.
No handles or locks were present; the only thing resembling a lock was a faintly glowing hole in the center.
Seemingly a ’scanning’ device, scanning the ’key’.
Its flickering indicated its operation.
The youth stepped back, bowing his head, gazing at the faint glow.
He reached to touch the glow, his luminous form gradually further dissolving, trying to squeeze into the glowing hole, entering the chamber behind the door.
But as he squeezed halfway, his body suddenly froze.
Then, sharply pulling back, he extracted his squeezed form.
Accompanying him, starlight seeped out as he tugged back.
Soon, within brief monts, vibrant starlight poured from the hole, forming a large hand, gripping the youthful figure.
At this mont, illusory runes flickered around.
The rune-ford illusory array now constricted inward, not outward.
Rapidly entwining the starlight hand, the runes, like glowing brands, imprinted on the starlight hand, swiftly severing it.
Shuddering, the starlight hand squeezed tightly around the youth, seemingly dragging him to the void’s depths.
At this ti, the youth’s body paused, purple light surged like tides, a force erupted.
The starlight hand, perhaps unaware of his counter, amidst an explosive blast, the vast chamber trembled, the starlight hand shattered.
The already dim rune array plunged deeper into darkness, leaving only fleeting glimrs, concealed in the void.
The breach’s edge flashed faint gray light, like gray stars hanging in the firmant.
Faint, slightly green-glowing starlight scattered in the chamber, vanishing like sparks in the night.
Uncertain how long passed, until all cald again, darkness hiding scattered starlight.
A figure erged from the void, hovering before the closed tal door.
In an instant, the surrounding gray light flared, the faint illusory array flickering again.
He Ao looked up, staring at the closed door.
The youth from earlier was his ’clone’ projected with the power of Super mory.
Used as bait.
Evidently, he caught sothing.
Then shifting his gaze, he stared at the fading array.
From the array’s condition, no powerful ’enemy’ seed present nearby.
The array seed infused with martial arts, conforming to the Original Federation array’s design philosophy.
The array’s strength exceeded his expectations.
Last ti on Navigator, it lacked Angel Tier power, the strongest being A02, trying to flesh out as an AI, reaching Incomplete Angel tier.
Now, the array’s demonstrated power clearly held a high position.
Either an Angel Tier exists hidden on the ship, unknown to He Ao.
Or the arrays weren’t set up by the ship’s Higher Being but embedded during construction.
Angels of the Original Federation weren’t few; constructing such arrays wasn’t extraordinary.
The question remains: is Navigator ’unique’?
If Navigator were crucial, its na suggests an Angel aboard.
If Navigator was mass-produced by the Original Federation, lacking Angels is reasonable.
Answers perhaps lie in this first chamber.
After all, the second chamber He Ao currently inhabits in Navigator’s Core Control Room isn’t array-protected.
The first chamber, leading at the forefront, array-protected, surely holds significance.
If secrets of Navigator are found, they might resolve current issues.
He Ao placed his hand on the door, gazing at it.
As he applied force, the dim array reactivated, constricting towards his form.
Violent attempts to break open the door seed inadvisable.
After a brief pause, his gaze shifted to his wrist.
At this mont, he was wearing a chanical wristband on his wrist.
It was the first officer’s wristband from the Navigator.
He lowered the wristband, aligning it with the hole below.
At this mont, the hole no longer glowed, only a dead silence remained.
The structures inside seed to have been destroyed long ago.
However, He Ao did not rush, rather he patiently waited for a while.
Ding—
About ten seconds later, a crisp sound suddenly echoed in He Ao’s ears.
[Identity Verification Successful]
Ka—
Along with a subtitle projecting on the wristband display, obvious seams appeared around the tightly closed chanical door.
Imdiately after, the chanical door folded inward and suddenly opened before He Ao.
Bright lights began to illuminate the darkness, fierce winds blew from the chamber, almost hurling He Ao away.
This is the air from the chamber.
The chamber was intact, maintaining complete air pressure inside.
Beep beep beep—
Accompanied by the sharp sound of air pressure drop alarm, the open door rapidly unfolded, about to close.
Sothing swiftly passed through the void, a figure swiftly charged into the chamber against the pressure.
And behind him, the opened door abruptly closed.
Crack crack crack crack—
As if sensing soone’s presence, lights above He Ao lit up, illuminating all surrounding areas.
Zzz—
Sounds of pressurization followed, restoring the chamber pressure to a normal, human-survivable state.
He Ao raised his head, walking forward as he observed everything within his field of view.
This chamber wasn’t large, even sowhat narrow, its overall structure resembling a honeycomb, each hexagonal unit appeared to be plugins, inserted into corresponding hexagonal sockets.
And at the chamber’s center, where He Ao stood, was a spherical hole.
Within the hole stood silver-white box-shaped items resembling freezing chambers.
Soft glow flickered on the box.
As He Ao approached, the screen on the nearest box suddenly lit up, displaying a stream of information.
These seed to be the information of individuals inside the freezing chambers:
[Caitlin]
[Female]
[25 years old]
[Martial Artist]
[Frozen]
[Awaken]
The screen still shone, the entire system appeared to be functioning normally.
He Ao gazed at this silver-white tal box, silent for a mont.
Then he left this tal box and glanced at other tal boxes.
There were a total of twenty tal boxes here, containing twenty frozen individuals.
Among them, only 3 were males, the remaining 17 were females.
Deeper inside, it seed nothing else existed.
Eventually, He Ao returned to the front of the first tal box.
He raised his hand, tapping the [Awaken] button.
Beep—
Amidst a crisp sound, sounds began emanating from within the silver-white tal box.
The text on the tal box screen also started changing.
[Awakening···]
[Error]
[Awakening···]
[Error]
[Awakening···]
During these successive changes, He Ao reached out his hand, grabbing the edge of the tal box, and exerted force.
Ka—
With a crisp sound and piercing alarm, the tal box was directly torn open.
The tal box was empty, leaving only a hollow hibernation suit.
He Ao looked at the empty tal box, not surprised.
From the start, he hadn’t sensed any life presence inside the tal box.
He turned around, walked to the other side, and opened another tal box.
This tal box was empty as well.
Bang bang bang—
Amidst intense sounds, all twenty tal boxes were opened, revealing nothing inside, only a void empty space.
Soft red glow flickered intensely on the tal boxes’ screens, casting an eerie yet sinister illumination over the vacant space.
He Ao gazed at these tal boxes.
The hibernation suits inside were all plump and took different human shapes, without any signs of damage or usage.
This indicated that they originally contained individuals.
So ’thing’ bypassed the tal boxes and devoured the ’people’ inside.
He Ao lowered his head, scanning around.
Soon, he walked behind the last tal box, reached out and pressed on the honeycomb-shaped wall, finding a small hole.
He pressed the chanical wristband against the small hole.
Accompanied by a crisp sound and faint text:
[Identity Verification Successful]
The small door in front of him slowly opened, revealing a narrow silver-white bed and a vague shadowy outline.
He Ao walked towards the shadowy outline.
And behind him, faint starlight began to erge.
