Chapter 1507: Chapter 1507: Illusion in the Wind and Snow

“That Snow Giant!”

Just as Lin Chichi’s gaze focused on the massive shadows appearing around her, the translator beside her suddenly opened his mouth, pointing to a spot not far ahead, and shouted loudly.

Lin Chichi raised her head and looked in the direction the translator was pointing.

She saw the remains of the Snow Giant she had just ‘slain’ begin to tremble.

So invisible force seed to be gathering in the void, as the chunks of icy body once again coalesced, and the Snow Giant, which had been cut into several pieces, instantly returned to its original form.

At this mont, Lin Chichi watched all this, her expression slightly darkening.

The prolonged cold had stiffened her thoughts sowhat, and she finally realized a problem she had just overlooked.

After she killed that Snow Giant, it hadn’t been sacrificed like in her previous battles.

The Divine Being only accepts offerings of flesh and blood.

This result either ant the Snow Giant lacked life, being purely so kind of Transcendent weapon, or the Snow Giant couldn’t be killed by simple thods.

But either way, it signified that their situation had reached a more dire state.

She couldn’t offer sacrifices to the Divine Being to gain more power, and the foe was undead.

Lin Chichi gripped the handle of her Knight Sword tightly, gazing intently at the Snow Giant that had restored its body and was slowly approaching her, as well as the other Snow Giants encircling her like mountains.

The local guides who followed Lin Chichi huddled at her side, trembling as they looked at the countless Snow Giants.

Their newly bolstered confidence and hope were wiped clean along with the ‘resurrection’ of that Snow Giant.

Faced with these monsters approaching like mountains, it was already noteworthy courage that they weren’t lying on the ground awaiting death.

Lin Chichi had no harsh expectations for these ordinary people. She clenched the sword handle, looked at the nearest Snow Giant, “Don’t scatter, follow .”

Leaving these simple words, she charged forward, rushing towards the nearest Snow Giant.

The brilliant light of the sword cut through the sky.

The massive Snow Giant raised its hand, intending to hit her, but she swiftly dodged.

Soon, she reached the Snow Giant’s chest and slashed it with one strike, splitting it open.

Imdiately after, only pausing briefly to catch her breath, she turned and rushed towards the next Snow Giant.

This ti, her speed in dealing with the Snow Giant was slower.

Quickly, she dispatched the third Snow Giant, her movents turning even slower.

After continuous intense battles, she was beginning to lose so stamina.

Upon encountering the fourth Snow Giant, her movents slowed entirely, failing to dodge the Snow Giant’s striking hand, and was smashed to the ground, spitting a mouthful of blood.

But soon, she seized the mont to rise, dodged the Snow Giant’s attack, and resolved the fourth Snow Giant.

Imdiately, without any pause, she charged at the fifth Snow Giant, the last Snow Giant before them.

This Snow Giant was taller and faster than the previous ones, surprisingly dodging Lin Chichi’s initial wave of attacks.

But at this mont, after the previous exertion, Lin Chichi’s movents had considerably slowed.

However, she quickly caught up with the Snow Giant’s pace, sticking close to it.

Powerful icicles suddenly shot out from the Snow Giant’s body, piercing towards her.

Loud booms echoed from both sides, the sound of other Snow Giants hastily approaching.

Lin Chichi did not hesitate, the sword light slashed down, forcing her way past the sharp icicles, and sliced open the massive Snow Giant.

Her body was also pierced in multiple places by the icicles, and blood covered her skin.

“Cough—”

Landing on the ground, she coughed lightly, glancing at the blood in her hand.

“Miss Lin!”

At this mont, the translator, leader, and guides circled around the Snow Giant’s remains, approaching hurriedly, clumsily handing her so bandaging supplies.

Lin Chichi’s speed was incredibly fast, effectively eliminating the Snow Giants before they could mount further attacks.

Because of this, the guides had the chance to quickly follow, shielded by the falling Snow Giants, rather than being crushed directly.

They were cooperative as well, staying together, not running chaotically.

Lin Chichi glanced at them, took the bandages, and eyed the swiftly approaching Snow Giants from both sides.

Although these Snow Giants weren’t far away, perhaps due to their massive size, their movents were not quick.

“We must leave here imdiately.”

Lin Chichi turned her head, looking at the storm ahead, speaking swiftly.

Upon finishing, she prepared to continue forward.

Boom—

Just then, the earth-shaking roar sounded again.

Lin Chichi’s expression changed.

Amidst the blizzard ahead, massive shadows began to faintly reveal their forms.

Crack—

A slight crisp sound echoed from behind.

So in the guide group turned to look back.

The ‘remains’ of the Snow Giants that had just been ‘killed’ by Lin Chichi seed to be summoned by so force, rising into the sky, reassembling into Snow Giants.

The huge wounds she inflicted on them began healing at a visible speed, instantly restoring their original form.

Boom boom—

anwhile, on both sides, the Snow Giants that had initially encircled them were once again closing in.

The translators and guides clustered together, trembling as they watched the surrounding Snow Giants.

“I shouldn’t have taken this job,” the translator leaned against his companion, watching the advancing figures that the blizzard couldn’t even obscure.

He clasped his hands together on his head, “God, please save us. I’ll offer anything.”

Following his movent, the locals around him raised their hands, kneeling and trembling in prayer.

Seeing this, Lin Chichi simply tightened her grip on her sword, stood tall, and took a deep breath.

The surrounding Snow Giants finally reached before them.

They ford a circle, densely packed, blocking off all directions.

Like a vast circular wall, they obstructed the wind and light.

A snow giant raised its hand, and all the surrounding snow giants raised their hands as well.

The massive arm shadows completely covered the last glimrs of the sky.

Or rather, these arms joined together ford a sky made of snow.

Lin Chichi raised her sword, holding it horizontally in front of herself.

And at that mont, it was as if the entire world fell silent for a mont.

Crack—

Amidst the howling blizzard ca a crisp sound, like a snap in the darkness, or the soft clink of a fine glass rod shattering upon the ground.

The sound was so small yet so clear, echoing crisply in everyone’s ears within the fierce blizzard.

All the surrounding snow giants, those towering monsters like mountains, ca to a stop at that mont.

Their bodies seed to fall into silence, and then these massive bodies lightly trembled.

The pure white bodies made of snow, like feathers flying out when a goose down pillow was ripped apart, started to rapidly beco fluffy, losing all support.

The arms stretching out from the sky collapsed with a boom, turning into boundless white flying snow.

Next, the massive bodies connected to the arms also collapsed like swirling feathers.

The howling fierce wind swept across the world, carrying away the whirling snowflakes.

The thick snowstorm, like a curtain veiling the heavens and earth, shrouded the world.

Lin Chichi raised her head, looking into the depths of the thick blizzard, gazing at the flying snow that obscured everything.

A seemingly slender figure slowly erged through the snow barrier, appearing from the dense blizzard.

He raised his head and looked at the blood-soaked girl with a gentle smile.

“Sir!”

Lin Chichi widened her eyes and excitedly rushed over.

“How did you end up like this?” He Ao looked at the girl rushing towards him.

“Just a little injury, nothing serious, hehe,” the girl giggled and then, looking at He Ao with so nervousness, asked, “Sir, did you co to rescue ?”

“I was just passing by,” He Ao laughed casually.

“Huh?” Lin Chichi was slightly taken aback.

At this mont, He Ao had already taken out a can and handed it to Lin Chichi, “This canned at, eating a piece can quickly heal half your injuries, but you’ll feel very hungry.”

This was a nutritional canned food, a healing prop obtained by He Ao previously, but it only worked notably on levels below C, and he hadn’t used it in a long ti.

Lin Chichi took the can, pulled out a piece of at, and stuffed it into her mouth.

Her wounds began to heal at a speed visible to the naked eye, then she handed the can back to He Ao.

She scratched her head and awkwardly chuckled, “Sorry for the trouble.”

“If anything really happens to you here, that’ll be the biggest trouble for ,” He Ao slowly lifted his steps forward and asked softly, “So, what exactly happened? How did you find this place?”

The whirling snowflakes clung to his head, lingering on his hair.

At this mont, the guides, who had been praying with tightly closed eyes, also trembled and lifted their heads, gazing at the empty sky around them with bewildernt in their eyes.

But soon, they spotted Lin Chichi and the man next to her who seed sowhat mysterious.

They closed their mouths, exchanged glances, quickly climbed up, and naturally followed the two’s pace.

“It was actually a clue provided by an expedition team,” Lin Chichi was beside He Ao, glanced at the few people who caught up, and said softly, “This is the desert’s center, and those seeking adventure often venture into this uninhabited desert area.”

She glanced at the surrounding blizzard and continued, “This ti, there were two expedition teams crossing the desert together, but they hadn’t fully tead up, moving together. Instead, one team went ahead, and the other followed, communicating via radio and satellite phone.

“Upon entering the central desert area, the following team suddenly found they couldn’t contact the team upfront, so they started tracing the tracks to find the leading team.

“They then found this area and discovered the traces of the leading team entering it.”

Pausing slightly, Lin Chichi continued, “But they didn’t enter this area for ‘adventure’; they returned the way they ca, and a few used satellite phones to call helicopters to get them back to the city quickly and report to the police.”

“Pretty cautious,” He Ao chuckled.

“Indeed,” Lin Chichi said softly, “The leader of that expedition team is a veteran with decades of experience. He said that if he weren’t cautious enough, he would’ve died in the desert long ago.”

In the past decade, weird events have been happening worldwide, including many in the desert, though they haven’t caused widespread impact, so few manage it.

You can’t survive without being cautious enough.

“How did the cult find out the news?” He Ao asked, sowhat puzzled.

Lin Chichi ntioned in her ssage that the intel ca from the ‘K’ cult.

“As you know, this is a no man’s land, and it’s close to the Tia Empire,” Lin Chichi said softly, “The Research Institute, World Tree, and Moonlight have set up organizations nearby, but none manage here,

“And the cult previously gained so prestige during the Evil God sacrifice operation; coincidentally, the company boss providing helicopters had worked with the cult during the sacrifice eradication. The cult saved him and hired his helicopters for rapid mobility.”

Lin Chichi further explained, “So the helicopter boss directed them to the cult directly, and the local cult leader, unsure how to handle this, escalated it straight to .”

This was sowhat unexpected for He Ao; the cult filled the power vacuum in so intersecting areas, which wasn’t in his initial calculations when establishing the cult.

But overall, it’s a good thing.

If the cult didn’t have a presence here, by the ti those expedition teams alerted authorities and the local governnt notified the three major organizations, layer by layer up the procedure, when He Ao gets the intel, the situation might have been much worse.

“So you are···?” He Ao looked at Lin Chichi, sowhat puzzled.

“I originally planned to scout first and then arrange enough manpower for exploration, and I parked the car in a relatively outer area,” Lin Chichi was slightly stunned, awkwardly saying, “But I didn’t expect this area to expand suddenly, ”

She glanced back at the thinly-dressed guides behind, “All of us were caught up in it.”

“I understand,” He Ao smiled and nodded, looking at Lin Chichi’s awkward appearance, casually continued to ask, “Have you seen the missing expedition team?”

“I’m afraid it’s bad news,” Lin Chichi shook her head, “We’ve found their abandoned, damaged vehicles in here. They’ve been lost here for at least a day and have stayed longer than us.”

“It’s been at least a day?” He Ao raised his head, glancing at the wind and snow overhead.

The mutation here began before he entered the Copy World.

“Yes, the expedition team providing the intel took ti to explore and return, so our intel was a bit delayed,” Lin Chichi nodded, “Oh right.”

Saying this, she suddenly rembered sothing and looked into the depths of the blizzard.

But there was only an empty blizzard, nothing else.

“What’s wrong?” He Ao, puzzled, looked at Lin Chichi, who seed a bit confused.

“Sir,” Lin Chichi whispered, “There was soone there originally; I just saw soone running towards us, blocked by those snow giants,”

She paused slightly, “But now, it seems like there’s nothing left, not even a body if they’re dead.”

He Ao looked at the empty blizzard, his gaze profound.
