Vigina raised her bracelet and glanced at the landmark on the map. A little further along this street and a right-angle turn; sure enough, it was right where the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s southwest division was located.

She was a bit bewildered.

First, she was stunned at how close the Federal Bureau of Investigation was to the core Linsent Pharmaceutical Factory, where illegal drugs were produced.

Second, she couldn’t figure out why the sales director was taking this route. To turn himself in?

Or simply passing through this way.

Nevertheless, she sent this ssage to He Ao.

At this mont, the red car in front suddenly sped up, widening the distance from the taxi behind.

The taxi driver also accelerated the car, giving chase.

"Driver, can you figure out a way to block him?" Vigina quickly asked, watching the red car ahead.

The taxi driver was slightly taken aback, then slamd the accelerator again.

The distance between the taxi and the red car shortened further.

But at this mont, the red car sped up again, turned around a corner, and entered a narrow alley.

The taxi driver imdiately turned as well, entering the alley.

This alley was extrely narrow, with the car’s electronic rearview mirror caras nearly brushing against the walls on both sides. It would only take a small mistake to hit the walls.

The ground was not a normal paved road but instead cobblestone, making the ride bumpy and uneven.

Clearly, this wasn’t ant for cars, or at least not normal traffic.

"He knows we’re following him." Vigina frowned slightly, looking at the red car still accelerating in the alley.

The red car showed no concern for the vehicle damage and continued accelerating even if it scraped against the walls.

By comparison, the taxi driver had to be much more cautious.

Yet, even so, the distance between them wasn’t increasing further.

At this point, the taxi driver glanced up at the light at the end of the alley and remarked softly, "Officer, he must be headed to the Federal Bureau of Investigation."

Vigina was slightly taken aback, but before she could react, the red car burst out of the alley, turning right into the street.

By now, Vigina completely lost sight of the red car.

The taxi followed closely, shot out of the alley, made an abrupt stop that caused a slight drift, then turned right.

At this mont, Vigina spotted the red car parked three hundred ters ahead.

The sales director had already stepped out of the car and was heading toward a building.

She looked up at the building the sales director was heading toward.

A massive Olive Shield Badge stood there prominently on the building.

Federal Bureau of Investigation!

This guy really intended to enter the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Vigina paused slightly; she didn’t know what the sales director intended, but she knew she couldn’t let him enter the Federal Bureau of Investigation Building.

Once he got through that door, any move she made would be imdiately halted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and she would really lose the chance to catch him.

As it was, the Federal Bureau of Investigation agents on duty at the entrance had already spotted the sales director heading for the door.

If she tried to apprehend the sales director now, it could still be interfered with by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, but showing her identity and credentials might offer so leeway.

If he really entered the building, even invoking the director-general wouldn’t cut through the red tape, and her identity would be wholly exposed, discovered by Deputy Director Rose.

The sales director had only covered half the distance to the door; he hadn’t entered yet, so there was still a chance.

By this ti, the taxi had already accelerated forward, screeching to a halt behind the red car.

"Thank you, driver."

Vigina pushed open the door and darted out, racing toward the sales director walking to the Federal Bureau of Investigation entrance.

The taxi driver watched this scene, scratched his head.

But he restarted the vehicle, preparing to leave.

By this ti, Vigina was quickly approaching the sales director, almost reaching him.

But at that mont, three figures in Federal Bureau of Investigation uniforms suddenly erged from the building, moving swiftly toward the sales director.

Upon seeing these three figures, Vigina hesitated montarily.

Had this area’s Federal Bureau of Investigation been bought off? No, their attitude didn’t seem right?

Her pace quickly slowed down, and she stopped, blending in like an ordinary pedestrian casually strolling by.

Now with Federal Bureau of Investigation agents stepping out to et soone, acting would be no different from going inside to make an arrest.

She watched as the sales director approached the agents who ca to et him, their figures about to converge, clenching her teeth slightly.

Just a little bit more, just a bit more.

In that mont, a figure in a black coat, who was looking down playing with a wristband, appeared out of nowhere and accidentally bumped into the advancing sales director.

The three approaching Federal Bureau of Investigation agents imdiately reached for their waists and hurriedly rushed towards the sales director.

However, the black-coated figure rely glanced at the sales director, smiled, and said, "Sorry."

Then turned around and continued forward, as if just a passerby who wasn’t paying attention while walking with a wristband.

The sales director was startled and didn’t have ti to speak with the black-coated figure, hurriedly checked himself, and was relieved to find nothing missing.

By that ti, the three Federal Bureau of Investigation agents had reached the sales director.

They quickly surrounded him, cautiously surveying the surroundings, then lifted their heads and escorted the sales director into the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Vigina, standing by the roadside, widened her eyes, watching He Ao, who was approaching in a black coat.

He Ao just turned his back to the Federal Bureau of Investigation agents, smiled at her, then looked down, continued playing with the wristband, and passed by her.

She imdiately turned and followed him.

They walked to the street corner and turned into another intersection.

Vigina glanced back, seeing the giant Olive Shield Badge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation completely vanish from view, she let out a sigh of relief and looked at He Ao, "When did you get here? How did you get here from so far away?"

He Ao’s location should’ve been much farther than hers.

"Got here a bit before you," He Ao smiled and pointed to the tall building above, "Ca from up there."

Vigina looked up at the tall buildings, dozens to hundreds of ters high, around them and was montarily taken aback. Then she realized that this guy had hopped directly over each skyscraper.

That ans going straight, without needing to turn along the street; that’s indeed closer.

She looked at He Ao; she initially thought this maneuver defied intuition but recalled that the first ti they t, he jumped straight off the building.

Sothing this guy might indeed do.

"You really should join the urban parkour competition," she sighed slightly, "Surely you can claim first place in the Federation."

With the appearance of He Ao, most of her earlier frustration dissipated; even failing to capture the sales director seed not so terrible.

This guy always seems to have everything under control, providing a peculiar sense of reassurance.

"Competing with ordinary people isn’t fair," He Ao chuckled, shaking his head.

"Didn’t expect your moral standards are quite high," Vigina remarked.

She watched He Ao’s casual deanor in life-or-death monts and sotis wondered if he was so disguised villain—the real mastermind behind the assassination of the President.

But perhaps it’s this inadvertently displayed morality that makes her feel he’s trustworthy.

This guy has too many secrets.

She retracted her thoughts and looked up at He Ao, "So what’s the sales director doing at the Federal Bureau of Investigation?"

She asked worriedly, "Have his behind-the-scenes forces already taken control of Ains’ Federal Bureau of Investigation?"

"To surrender. He called the Federal Bureau of Investigation in advance, saying he wanted to surrender," He Ao said casually.

"Surrender?" Vigina’s eyes widened.

Then she imdiately realized; indeed, the actions of the three Federal Bureau of Investigation agents did not resemble welcoming a big shot but were standard protection and transport for a prisoner.

"He surrendered?" Vigina was sowhat confused and murmured in a daze, "He had a fit of conscience? Does he have a conscience? Doesn’t he know how many lives were lost due to the things he sold? How many families were displaced?"

"Probably heard that the caravan leader got caught," He Ao sighed lightly.

The sales director truly surrendered.

The ’surface reason’ was, upon returning to work, hearing that the caravan leader had been caught, fearing the leader would drag him down, he decided to surrender.

A very ’reasonable’ reason.

This was also the sales director’s ’thought.’

But it was just a ’thought,’ with no associated emotional journey or ’mory’ for this thought to be born from.

It was as if an alien thought was implanted in his mind, making it seem like his own.

"What about the person directing him from behind?" Vigina frowned slightly, feeling a bit puzzled, "If he’s going to confess everything, not everything can be done by him alone, right?"

"Everything ’can’ be done by him alone," He Ao glanced at Vigina, speaking slowly.

Besides this ’thought’ of surrender, He Ao also read through the sales director’s ’mories.’

Everything regarding who instructed him to sell stimulants, and the extra ’400’ federal coins per sale, was blank.

Instead, his mind had adopted a certain ’concept.’

That was, he took the money and gambled online, lost it all, and the website he gambled on went under last night.

He ’knew’ he couldn’t get the money back and, combined with the ’caravan leader’s capture,’ in his panic, ultimately chose to surrender.

A very complete logic.

The only issue is that all these thoughts lacked complete ’related mories’ to support them, appearing as if conjured from thin air and convincing him absolutely.
