Chapter 1244: Chapter 1244: Spade K (Large Chapter, Request for Monthly Tickets)

Pale, slender fingers pierced through thick steel and gently pulled it apart, shredding the massive tal as if tearing paper. Then, the delicate, alabaster hand lifted lightly, with radiant brilliance gathering in its palm.

Boom—

The powerful recoil and the propulsion from her boots sent the blonde woman hurtling backward as the surging radiance struck the core deep within the steel fissure.

Bang—

In that instant, the colossal cha exploded abruptly in the sky, blooming like a flower ignited by fire.

The blonde woman was unable to retreat quickly, and the turbulent shockwave swept over her, propelling her body backward with great force.

This was the rear of the cha division’s formation. Against the backdrop of fierce battles ahead, the explosion at the rear did not appear particularly notable.

Using the burning, explosive airflow to her advantage, the blonde woman quickly adjusted her posture in the dark and prepared to slip into the crevices between buildings once more.

However, at that mont, a massive figure erged behind her, blocking her escape.

Simultaneously, countless cha sward in from every direction, like a closing hand, “grabbing” her within its palm.

The blonde woman turned her head to survey the rapidly mobilizing cha around her, furrowing her brows slightly before letting out a faint chuckle. “You sure are ruthless, even toward your own.”

These cha had been stationed around this area for a while but had not erged to rescue the recently destroyed unit. Their goal was to use their “comrade” to lure her deeper into the trap and secure enough ti for a complete ambush.

“For the sake of victory in war, necessary sacrifices are worth it.”

The cha stationed in the rear seed to hear her whispered remark. A hoarse voice amplified by a large speaker echoed in the darkness, “We’ll send you to Hell to et him.”

Blazing radiance gushed from her boots, hoisting the blonde woman into the nocturnal sky.

Her gaze swept around her surroundings, up and down, front and back, left and right. All her escape routes had been sealed off by these cha.

It was clear that the enemy had no intention of allowing her a chance to flee.

To intercept her, even the cannon fire ahead had montarily halted, pulling back a significant portion of the cha. This gave the floating warplanes defending the front lines a brief respite.

In a sense, she did succeed in delaying the cha’s advance and, by extension, the progression of the entire battlefield.

The blonde woman looked ahead, lowering her gaze slightly.

Still, this seed to be the limit of what she could accomplish.

The cha raised their main cannons, with torrents of brilliance converging within the radiant night sky.

Whether it was due to her extraordinary power or her several successful strikes and escapes, the cha division now operated at maximum vigilance.

Clearly, they had no intention of giving her any opportunity to resist.

Boom, boom, boom—

From afar ca the sudden sound of intense artillery fire. It seed the Mayor’s Guard’s floating warplanes had detected the encirclent here and were attempting to break through quickly.

However, the combat capability of the floating warplanes was evidently no match for these massive cha. re attempts to advance were promptly obstructed by the swarm of cha.

The radiance surrounding them grew increasingly intense. The blonde woman studied the cha encircling her, pushing her chanized body’s chanical power to its limit. The surging flesh on her body writhed unnervingly.

She was seeking an opportunity—a chance to take down at least one cha in her final monts.

Boom—

At that very instant, a dazzling shell struck the rear-most cha.

The cha convulsed and exploded suddenly.

The blonde woman looked up.

Behind the roaring flas, she could faintly make out a Blazing Angel ch and a series of floating warplanes rapidly approaching.

The Blazing Angel ch bore the insignia of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

It seed the “reinforcents” had arrived.

As the blonde woman shifted her gaze toward them, the surrounding cha also directed their attention to the approaching forces. Those in the encirclent tightened their formation, while others turned to face the incoming floating warplanes and cha.

The pervasive artillery fire illuminated the night sky but obstructed the blonde woman’s vision.

Her lips parted slightly, as if about to say sothing, but it was clear her voice couldn’t penetrate the deafening cacophony of explosions.

Her communication channel was inundated with static; the surrounding cha had already jamd all signals in the vicinity.

Strictly speaking, her current “treatnt” was already “privileged” enough. Even many powerful generals likely wouldn’t enjoy such “treatnt” among the cha forces.

She curled her lips into a faint smile that, amidst the intertwining of chanics and flesh, carried a poignant beauty shining under the brilliance of the night.

Suddenly, the surrounding cha paused montarily.

But her own actions didn’t halt in response. Flas erupted explosively from her boots as she darted toward the nearest cha.

Yet, the cha division’s hesitation lasted scarcely a second. Almost as soon as she moved, torrents of brilliance converged again.

Their synchronization was uncanny, as if a powerful will had overtaken everyone’s thoughts, compelling them to act as though controlled by a single operator.

The surging brilliance shot out violently, aiming for the blonde woman as she approached the edge of the encirclent.

She looked up, studying the luminescence with a serene expression.

She didn’t fear death—only the possibility that her last efforts hadn’t bought enough ti for the war.

Buzz—

At that very mont, a lodious sword hum exploded near her ears.

A silver short sword seed to tear through the void and descend upon her from the starlit sky.

She was montarily taken aback as she focused on the sword.

But the silver short sword didn’t grant her ti to react. It cut through the air before her and landed in her palm.

She imdiately understood the “intent” of the sword.

Without hesitation, she grasped its hilt.

Buzz—

A sudden surge of power flooded her body, pulling her downward at incredible speed.

The fierce wind howled past her ears, followed by an eerie silence as she seemingly broke the sound barrier in a fraction of a second.

Had her Bitter Ape Heart not altered her physiology, granting her a “semi-chanical, semi-transcendent flesh” state, she had no doubt the terrifying “acceleration” would instantaneously destroy her chanized body.

At such breathtaking speed, she had no ti for other actions, forced to obey her body’s instinct to cling tightly to the short sword.

Boom—

The brilliance exploded overhead, illuminating the Firmant.

The furious glow struck where she’d been standing monts ago, its explosion’s gust sweeping across her.

But the gust, swift as it was, couldn’t catch her.

She didn’t know where the sword was taking her—it seed to flow through so arcane trajectory, reducing the drag ahead and further accelerating her movent.

Soon, her figure plunged downward, slipping through the gaps in the encirclent below, landing only ters above ground.

The lowermost cha in the encirclent imdiately noticed her descent and raised their cannons toward her.

anwhile, the cha above altered their trajectories, aiming downward.

Countless machine guns and anti-aircraft missiles preemptively rained fire around the blonde woman as she approached.

Their reaction speed was mind-boggling, synchronization flawless, as if a single entity had dictated their every move.

At that mont, the short sword in her hand trembled slightly.

Understanding its intent, she released it.

The silver blade shot forward like an unleashed arrow, soaring toward the heavens.

Radiant swordlight streaked across the Firmant, colliding with raining missiles.

Boom, boom, boom—

Instantly, each projectile was triggered to detonate, erupting into fiery blossoms across the night sky and rging into a vast inferno.

The fiery cloud impeded much of her vision, yet she could still trace the silver short sword as it ascended, slicing through the flas and charging at the cha overhead.

The nearest cha turned its gaze to the blade, soon followed by every other cha.

They appeared to attempt so sort of counterasure, but it was already too late.

The sharp brilliance pierced through the nearest cha and quickly reached the next, threading them like beads until yet another fell in its wake.

Boom, boom, boom—

The radiant swordlight swept across the Firmant, piercing through cha after cha.

Fire and explosions blood, spreading one by one.

Before long, the entire night sky—from earth to heavens—was ablaze in her view. Fires amassed into a towering “volcano” of annihilation.

Yet, the silver swordlight continued unabated.

It slashed across the sky, charging toward the units obstructing the Federal Bureau’s reinforcents.

Before these cha could respond, they too beca part of the fiery “volcano.”

The short sword was diminutive, almost delicate, dwarfed by the dozens-of-ters-tall cha.

But through this inconspicuous blade, colossal machines were effortlessly felled, reduced to scrap as if struck by divine pestilence.

The blonde woman’s figure fell gently to the ground, her gaze fixed on the night sky.

In her line of sight, the silver short sword tore through the Firmant, slicing through flas, rushing toward the distant military formation.

Only when the blade disappeared from view did she lower her eyes to her blood-stained palms.

The inflammation from her flesh had twisted parts of her body. The chanical components comprising her form had sustained considerable deformation.

“Selena? Selena?”

A voice suddenly called out urgently from her communicator.

The previously jamd communications had sohow returned.

“Here. Stop shouting—I’m alive.”

The blonde woman smiled faintly.

The voice on the other end went silent before quickly asking, “What’s your situation over there?”

“I’m holding up. But my chanized body will probably need replacing,”

She laughed lightly. “What about you? Managed to snag a cha?”

“Found one in the Bureau’s warehouse. Normally requires director-level access, but the doors weren’t locked.”

The voice responded hastily, “By the way, I think I saw a sword—that destroyed all those cha?”

“Yeah.”

The blonde woman nodded gently, directing her gaze toward the horizon, where a colossal statue lood in the dark. “A sword.”

She knew that sword, though she had never used it before. Yet, every subtle movent of the blade seed to convey its intentions to her.

As though they had already fought side by side countless tis.

Glorious Palace

Christos gazed at the blood-soaked young man standing before his desk. His eyes widened briefly before softening. Shifting his gaze downward, he studied the playing card in the youth’s hand, his voice calm, “Seeing as it’s my first encounter with a ‘K’ relic, I naturally must preserve it properly.”

He lifted his eyes, eting the youth’s gaze as the latter also glanced upward. His lips quivered slightly, and the torrent of unspoken words condensed into a simple phrase. “It’s been a while.”

“It’s been a while.”

He Ao stared at Christos, placing the playing card lightly onto the desk. He took a step forward, appearing beside Christos in an instant.

Christos blinked at the motion before smiling faintly, “You’ve grown stronger?”

“Just borrowed external forces,”

He Ao shook his head and stood beside Christos, his gaze dropping to the golden-haired youth below.

“Spade symbolizes swords and justice. Spade K, the ‘Leader of Justice,'”

Christos didn’t press the matter further. Instead, he turned his gaze downward as well, watching the blonde youth approach slowly amidst overlapping cha formations. “When you drew this card back then, were you hinting at this—or did you just pick a random card from the deck?”

“Asking the temple’s ‘Prophet’ about the specifics of ‘Divine Inspiration’ is a major taboo,”

He Ao laughed softly, replying in a calm tone, “After all, perhaps even the ‘Prophet’ doesn’t fully understand the aning of ‘Divine Inspiration.'”

“Hahahaha,”

Christos burst into laughter. “Then I’ll simply assu my interpretation of ‘Divine Inspiration’ is its original intent.”

He paused briefly, then looked up, his gaze passing over the golden-haired youth. Then, beyond the layers of cha, he gazed at the billowing flas and layered cities beyond, murmuring, “So, do you think Spade K—a card like this—is good?”

“If you’re asking ,”

He Ao raised his head and answered softly, “It’s excellent.”

Boom—

As he spoke, explosions erupted fiercely at the far end of the battlefield.

In the depths of night, cha units at the battlefield’s rear detonated one by one, their raging flas transforming into radiant brilliance.

Listening to his words, Christos leaned back slightly and gazed at the glass curtain wall before him.

Reflected in the glass’s surface, an old playing card lay silently, not far from their figures. Their reflections intertwined with the card’s form.

“Can I pass through here?”

He Ao stretched out his hand, pressing lightly against the glass curtain wall in front of him. He turned to Christos beside him and asked in a calm voice.

“Of course.”

Christos nodded gently before stepping back.

He Ao withdrew his gaze and looked downward at the golden-haired youth.

Bang—

His palm vibrated slightly, and the glass fragnts before him trembled, shattering into countless pieces instantly.

He stepped forward, passing through the rain-like shards of glass and into the silent night.

Buzz—

In the depths of night, a silver short sword hurtled toward him.
