How could I not recognize you?”

As he spoke, he suddenly paused and looked behind He Ao, “It seems our dear Miss Sharp Tongue is about to be at a disadvantage.”

With that, he bent down and took out a kitchen knife and spatula from beside him.

He Ao followed his gaze and saw that Naomi, who was serving dishes at table 8, was about to be groped by the tattoo-covered patron, who was slowly reaching his hand toward Naomi’s shapely behind.

Naomi stepped back two paces and rolled her eyes, “Do you have a mother?

If you have one, why don’t you go ho and reach out with your pig’s trotters there?

See if your mother wants to stuff you back in?

Oh,”

Naomi feigned a surprised exclamation, “Or you don’t have a mother?

Oh, God, that’s truly unfortunate, but that is no reason to act up in a restaurant.

If you can’t find the correct use for your hands, I suggest you donate them to soone in need.”

When it ca to verbal sparring, no one in the area was a match for Naomi.

Usually, such lowlifes would shafacedly retract their hands.

But this ti, the tattooed young man suddenly pulled out a handgun from his embrace, stood up, aid it at Naomi and said, “B*tch, what did you say?”

Naomi was stunned for a mont.

Just then, a broad hand reached over, grabbed the young man’s wrist firmly, gave it a quick twist, dislocating the wrist, and then swiftly pulled back, pressing down the gun and rotating it—I snatched the gun into his own hand.

“If you don’t want to eat, you can get out.”

He Ao calmly pressed the gun barrel against the young man’s forehead, his index finger on the trigger.

It was quite obvious the young man had taken one too many drugs and was a bit confused.

Well, guns cure all ills.

The young man shuddered as the gun barrel touched his forehead, coming partially to his senses, “Boss, listen, I can explain…”

“Get out.”

He Ao didn’t have ti for his nonsense.

“Alright, I’m going, I’m going right now…”

The young man, frightened, stumbled towards the door.

“Wait up,” He Ao suddenly stopped him and pointed with the gun at the cash register, “Settle the bill.”

“Okay…

okay…”

The young man shakily took out a paynt band and paid at the self-service cashier.

He Ao went to the cashier, watched him pay, then disassembled the gun into parts and threw them into the lost and found box in the store, “This thing is in the lost and found now.”

The young man did not dare to respond and scrambled out of the store.

“F**k, that stench is too strong,” just then, a cry of surprise ca from behind He Ao; he turned around to see Naomi, who had just taken a mop and bucket from the kitchen to clean the floor.

Where the young man had stood, there was now a puddle of murky yellow liquid on the floor.

Naomi, upon seeing He Ao looking over as she mopped, rolled her eyes, “Roy, can’t you be more careful?

Cleaning this up is disgusting.”

He Ao smiled without a word.

Naomi quickly finished mopping the floor, stood up with the bucket and mop, knocked her back, and looked at He Ao, “Okay, I’ll admit you were a little bit cool just now.”

She picked up her mop, ready to head back to the kitchen, but noticed Byrne who had co out at so point and was now leaning on the counter with a knife, striking what he thought was a sexy pose, “Hi~”

Naomi rolled her eyes and kicked him, “Get out.”

He Ao stretched lazily, ready to leave the restaurant and check out the White Rabbit Dance Hall Byrne had ntioned.

At that mont, a petite girl in an oversized coat, with a floppy n’s hat, passed by him.

She quickly settled the bill with her paynt band and hastened out of the restaurant.

Faintly, He Ao could see her silver hair pressed under the hat.

He Ao felt the figure seed familiar, yet the person had clearly disguised themselves, preventing He Ao from matching them to soone in his mory.

He Ao noted the figure, stepped out of the restaurant, hailed a taxi, and went directly to Alisel Street.

The taxi weaved through the chaotic streets, and occasional bursts of gunfire could occasionally be heard.

This was the Aston District, a place where chaos and order coexisted.

However, taxis were relatively safe here, as the taxi companies were basically backed by a major gang, and ordinary gang mbers usually didn’t dare to cause trouble.

“Seems to have gotten much ssier lately.”

He Ao watched two factions fighting fiercely outside the window.

“You’re from another district, aren’t you?” The taxi driver glanced at He Ao through the rearview mirror, “The head of the Crocodile Gang, the biggest gang in Aston District, died.

The Crocodile Gang has split into several factions fighting for territory, and the major gangs from other districts also want to get a piece of the action.

It’s been ssy for over half a month now and looks like it’s going to remain that way for a while.

That’s Aston District for you.”

“Oh,” He Ao nodded, watching the scenery fly by outside the window, “I didn’t know that.”

After covering so more distance, the taxi stopped at a red light.

This ti, the view outside the window was of the busy traffic of vehicles loaded with construction materials and construction crews working on buildings.

The taxi driver was also looking outside, lighting up a cigarette.

“What are they building?”

He Ao saw that the driver seed eager to talk and casually asked.

“A school,” the red light turned green, and the driver started moving the car, “So big shots from Crown District ca not long ago, saying they want to build a school here especially for holess children, claiming that these kids will change the future of Aston District.

Bullshit, these bigwigs only ever manage face-saving projects.

The first ti I heard them say they were going to change Aston District, I was still sucking milk in my mother’s arms, and now my grandson has started sucking milk.”

He pointed outside the window, “You hear that rat-tat-tat of gunfire?

Have they changed anything?

What have they changed?”

He clenched his cigarette in his teeth and spat, “The bigwigs live in city-view mansions hundreds of floors high.

How could they hear the gunshots from here?”

He Ao did not speak but quietly watched outside the window.

The shabby shelters of the holess, gang mbers shooting at each other in the streets, and the dirty children, confused, watching from inside the shacks.

He Ao thought of the children at Rockville Private Middle School, sitting under the podium listening to the Mayor’s speech, full of confidence and hope.

The sa city, different destinies.

“We’re here.”

As the driver hit the brakes, the taxi gradually ca to a stop.

He Ao stepped out of the taxi and looked at the magnificent building in front of him.

The White Rabbit Dance Hall was on the seventy-eighth floor of this building.

He Ao entered the building and took the elevator to the seventy-eighth floor.

When the elevator doors opened again, a huge neon sign was reflected in He Ao’s pupils.

White Rabbit Dance Hall.

An unadorned na.

The 78th to 80th floors of this building had been combined to create the dance hall area.

This area wasn’t limited to the White Rabbit Dance Hall; there were other smaller dance halls, which Byrne often frequented.

But the White Rabbit Dance Hall was the largest and most renowned in this area.
