By the ti Max returned to the main city, it was almost morning, so he decided to have a morning run to clear his head.
Because of his enhanced physique, he could run faster and longer than mundane people, but he could still get tired after pushing his limits.
That limit was apparently twenty kilotres without stopping, as by the ti he made it back to the Moonshine Inn, sweat was rolling down his body like a river coming down from the mountains.
As he entered the Inn, he found lissa serving breakfast to a couple of elderly custors. Her smile seed to brighten up everyone’s day, as every custor thanked her for her services with a smile on their faces.
She quickly noticed him and called him over with a strange glint in her eyes. His lips twitched, rembering what she had planned, but he couldn’t bring himself to get over it.
[Co on, you were thinking the sa thing! Also, very poor narration!]
Once again, Max ignored his companion and went towards lissa and said before she could start, "I’m tired, Aunt, so I’ll just go and have so rest."
lissa’s face brightened up as she nodded in understanding and said, "Good! You deserve it, so take this and rest well."
She gave him a plate of breakfast and pushed him towards the stairs. He knew she was having so misunderstanding, but he didn’t have the energy to correct it.
On the way, he also t John, who just gave an approving nod along with a big thumbs up. He seed really proud of him...
Max could only shake his head and return to his room to get refreshed. After everything was done, including breakfast, he sat on his bed with a contemplative look on his face.
He still rembered Stelle’s words and knew how true they were. If he wanted to be with both of them, especially Charlotte, then he needed to beco strong enough to suppress a Gold-Rank Clan alone.
That ant being at the pinnacle of Platinum Rank, the sa rank as that of the King of Corelhelm Kingdom.
Normally, that goal seed impossible for many or at least a long journey, but it was different for Max because of his Ultimate Leveling System.
The problem was group of his Mana Veins, also known as the mana construct. Because of his Adaptation Skill, he had co quite far in his Mana control, but the problem with blocked Mana Veins still remained.
As long as he could solve it, he would soar to the heavens.
[Easy boy! There are still many things out there to hold you back.]
’Tsk! Let gloat for a while!’
[So, are you going to use the sa thod as in the novel?]
In the novel, Max was also wary of his secret being known, so he had worked hard to find a solution to his problem and had succeeded with it.
Max planned to do the sa.
He smiled and called Harley...
[Sugar Mommy?]
’I haven’t sold my body yet!’
[You wish!]
’I do...’
Soon, Harley picked up the call and turned it into a video call. Max could see her sitting on her balcony while drying her wet hair.
Max gulped as she was just in her bathrobes, and he could see water glistening on her pale skin, as it rolled down her collarbone and into her deep cleavage.
[Do you now regret turning my invitation down?]
Max looked down and chuckled softly, "Not really. I value my life more than my sexual life."
Harley laughed, as if she had found the biggest joke of the century, and then asked.
[I see, then why did you disturb my bath?]
Max ignored her obvious teasing and asked, "I need so Magical Herbs and ingredients, and I’m willing to pay for them but I need them quickly."
[Is it about your Mana Veins?]
’So, she did notice them,’ Max had expected that, so he wasn’t surprised and nodded. "Yes, I have found a solution, but don’t have enough ingredients."
[Is it the Manaflow Restoration Elixir?]
"Yes, that’s the one," Max exclaid. "Do you have its ingredients?"
[I have, but they are pretty expensive, so I don’t want to take this gamble.]
"Huh? They should be around 15000 Sel, no?" Max asked in confusion, as he was sure that was the price in the novel.
Harley put away the hairdryer and looked at him.
[What you’re thinking of is a Tier 2 Elixir, and believe , it won’t work unless you take at least fifteen of them.]
Only then did Max understand the situation and facepald, thinking, ’Of course! Why do I keep forgetting such important details?’
In the novel, Max had used the Elixir much later when he was stronger. By then, the constant usage of mana had softened the blockage, so a Tier 2 Elixir did the work.
But he was different, and his blockage was much stronger. A Tier 2 Elixir just wouldn’t do the work.
Only a Tier 4 Manaflow Restoration Elixir could solve his problem instantly, and the ingredients were worth a fortune. He had to dive for months to gather enough funds for it.
That wasn’t even the biggest problem.
He could make the lower-tier potions and elixirs, as he just needed to follow the formula to mix them properly. But things changed for higher-tier Elixirs.
So, he could understand Harley not wanting to give him the ingredients.
’Aghh! Don’t tell I need to wait for it? It’ll be hella problematic!’
[Actually, I have a Tier 4 Manaflow Restoration in my storage. Only one though.]
Max’s eyes brightened up hearing that, as he asked, "What do I need to give in return?"
He knew Harley well enough to know that she threw this stick at the end to entice him. It was a simple tactic that worked.
As long as it wasn’t sothing extre, he would do anything to get that Elixir, because it was just too precious to him.
Harley seed to see through him as she said.
[We can discuss this while sitting together, so co here in the evening. I have so work till then.]
"Alright, I’ll be there at 5," Max nodded.
[Bye then!]
[Bye!]
Harley cut the call and stood up with a frown on her face. "Manaflow Restoration, I should have ordered it earlier."
She quickly dialed up a number, and the mont the other side picked up, she ordered, "Send a Tier 4 Manaflow Restoration to Godshine City branch before evening."
[B-But Ma’am...]
"I don’t want to hear it. Just do what I said, otherwise I’ll personally pay a visit to your holand."
