Raine led his squad at full speed back to the Sunfall Gorge outpost.
Behind him, Samwell glanced at the Ironfang Outpost, also massacred and left empty, his heart growing more shocked.
He hadn’t expected Raine’s actions to be so swift, taking out four outposts in a single night!
Soon, he spotted the squad weaving through the forest.
However, he didn’t intervene but instead stayed back to ensure the safety of the squad’s return to the Sunfall Gorge outpost.
When Raine and his team safely arrived, the fifth brigade soldiers at Sunfall Gorge breathed a sigh of relief.
"You... you’re insane!"
Sean frowned as he looked at the blood-soaked but exhilarated squad mbers.
"Hahaha... Though a bit exhausted, that was incredibly satisfying!"
Kyle, Paul, and the others laughed loudly, leaving Sean and the others sowhat stunned.
Raine quickly glanced at the bloodstone count.
[bloodstone: 211545]
A satisfied smile appeared on his face.
Thankfully, the trolls in these outposts had been plentiful.
But this bloodstone stash was still far from enough for his goal of attacking Crimson City.
He would need at least twice this amount to support a prolonged, high-intensity siege!
"Next, everyone stays here for five days to rest and use the supplies we’ve looted to boost our strength."
Raine made arrangents.
Five days would be enough for the trolls to reassign troops to guard the four outposts.
By then, it would be ti for the second round of harvesting!
"Captain Sean, I might need to trouble you a bit these days."
Raine turned to Sean, giving a formal salute.
"What are your plans?"
Sean asked, unable to hold back.
He was worried that this would disturb the Ironshield Fortress defense area, which could be detrintal to overall security.
"Naturally, kill enemies!"
Raine replied simply. "However, our actions won’t affect the overall deploynt of the fortress, so you don’t need to get too involved."
Whoosh—!
Samwell flew back and landed in front of Raine.
"Commander!"
Sean imdiately saluted.
Raine also returned the salute, slightly surprised.
Though he knew Samwell was a Grandmaster-level powerhouse, he hadn’t expected Samwell to be the commander of the 8th patrol!
"I’m Samwell, captain and commander of the third brigade."
Samwell introduced himself, eyeing Raine up and down.
"You’ve got guts, kid, attacking all the way to the gates of Stonehamr Fortress!"
Sean’s pupils shrank when he heard that.
They attacked the gates of Stonehamr Fortress?
Wait!
Did they even destroy the farthest Stargazer Cliff?
"Sorry, Commander, I acted without reporting to you first."
"No need to apologize!"
Samwell waved his hand, his tone complicated. "In fact, your timing was just right."
"If it weren’t for you, Sunfall Gorge would’ve already been lost."
"But now, leave things here to Sean. Co back to the fortress with ."
But Raine didn’t imdiately agree. Instead, he turned toward the direction of Sunset Lake and asked,
"The situation at Iron Dragon Fortress—has soone already briefed you on it?"
Samwell narrowed his eyes and countered,
"You’re not really thinking of carrying out that crazy plan, are you?"
"One man taking down Crimson City... You really have so nerve!"
Sean looked puzzled, hearing this.
One person taking down a stronghold?
But looking at Raine’s current rank, he was only Elite-level, so what did that an?
Kyle, Paul, and the other squad mbers also showed confused expressions.
Raine nodded, his tone firm.
"Commander, the eastern defense line needs a victory to boost morale. Please trust and help !"
"You’re out of your mind!"
Samwell’s face grew angry. "Do you have any idea what your actions an for the entire eastern defense?"
Raine calmly nodded.
From Commander Hegros’ attitude, he had already sensed the high command’s importance and expectations of him.
He knew that the idea of one person attacking a stronghold seed absurd and hard to believe.
But he wasn’t planning to continue persuading Samwell. Instead, he changed his approach, using a more indirect strategy.
"For now, I need to stay at Sunfall Gorge outpost. Stonehamr Fortress may send a Grandmaster-level War General. Can you stay a few more days?"
Samwell, after hearing this, sighed in resignation.
This kid was clearly using tactics to get him to stay and help, to continue his plans here.
But since Raine wasn’t leaving, he had no choice but to protect him.
After all, the troll War General, Manebreaker, had already arrived at Sunset Peak, and the threat was imnse!
"Fine! Just don’t go overboard!"
Samwell finally waved his hand, his gaze turning to Sunset Peak.
Feeling the imnse anger emanating from there, he secretly felt relieved and was quite satisfied with Raine’s thods.
He had long wanted to teach those brutal trolls a lesson, but his position and the situation prevented him from easily provoking a large-scale war.
If he did, he’d feel better, but a large number of human soldiers would die as a result!
As a high-ranking officer, he had so limitations.
Raine’s gaze also turned toward Sunset Peak, a glint of anticipation in his eyes!
...
At Sunset Peak,
Manebreaker looked down at the bloody scene at Sunfall Gorge, his rage boiling.
The heads of the tribe mbers from the four outposts were all displayed, and this open provocation and humiliation made him want nothing more than to flatten the human outpost imdiately.
The troll warriors behind him were equally filled with bloodlust, their fists cracking as they eagerly volunteered to fight.
"My lord! This is too humiliating!"
"Let’s push through and annihilate that outpost, kill all the humans, and avenge our kin!"
"Silence!"
Manebreaker shouted angrily, his expression dark.
"Samwell is also on the other side. That squad was able to wipe out four outposts, their combat strength is no joke!"
"Charging over now, we won’t gain anything. Let’s first stabilize the four outposts and then talk."
"Damn it!"
A troll warrior unwillingly punched a rock.
"Where did that squad co from? We’ve never heard of them before!"
"If I catch them, I’ll crush their bones and chew them up!"
Manebreaker didn’t respond. He simply walked slowly toward a giant rock.
With the firelight casting long shadows, he stared fiercely toward Sunfall Gorge, a murderous intent filling his eyes.
A few troll warriors flew toward Sunset Lake, starting to collect the heads of their kin.
...
In the camp, Raine was hastily working on improving his strength!
While continuing to study battle techniques like Fireburst Ring and teorfall, he also attempted to control the Thunder Prison Blade, trying to fully master this Divine Relic.
In previous battles, he had tried using the Thunder Prison Blade, but he clearly felt the resistance coming from the blade itself!
In simple terms, it felt prickly, like holding sothing covered in spikes!
So, with so ti now, he decided to dedicate himself to mastering this Divine Relic!
At the sa ti, he repeatedly practiced and fine-tuned his lightning-based combat techniques like Judgnt Spear, Void Thunder, and Thousand Thunders.
On the first day, the Sunfall Gorge area was unusually quiet.
But Manebreaker didn’t leave.
On the second day, Sunset Peak sent an additional six thousand troll soldiers, as well as seven Expert and Master-level trolls to reinforce their defenses.
The other three outposts also sent between three thousand to five thousand soldiers each.
Stonehamr Fortress couldn’t figure out Ironshield Fortress’ true intentions and had no choice but to strengthen their frontline defenses and adopt a defensive strategy.
Manebreaker stayed at Sunset Peak, and the trolls remained idle.
And at Sunfall Gorge, Raine’s squad was unusually quiet, even cutting back on their regular training.
Samwell was sowhat surprised by this!
On the third day, still quiet.
"Are they scared?"
"Are they hiding inside, afraid to co out?"
At Sunset Peak, one troll warrior frowned.
Manebreaker didn’t respond.
He knew this was because he was stationed here, and the enemy was cautious.
But as long as Samwell didn’t leave, he would never leave easily.
