Athyst nodded in agreent as she changed the subject, ''And I've chosen Atlas as my mate, but don't avoid my question. What is this job?''
Estelle giggled before answering, ''I need you to scout the surrounding areas once the defenders push back the Monster Wave.''
''What if there are flying creatures like last ti?'' Athyst answered while gazing at the dwindling horde.
''Use them to level up; we've all been getting stronger due to the constant fighting,'' the blonde answered.
Athyst nodded with a smile before spreading her wings and taking off. She soared gracefully through the sky as she watched the landscape unfold beneath her. The wind whipped around her as she soared over the snowy landscape.
The world beneath seed silent and still, but she kept her sharp eyes trained on the ground, scanning for any signs of movent. Snow-covered trees stretched endlessly, broken only by the occasional jagged cliff or frozen stream.
She continued flying around the Northeast. Forests stretched in all directions, but the tundra caught her attention. Giant Mammoths road the land looking for food, which caused her to smile.
'So many different monsters here,' Athyst thought while glancing around. 'If not for all the attacks, it would be peaceful.'
Then, Athyst spotted it in the distance—a dark ripple in the snow, a massive Monster Wave stirring beneath the surface, ready to rise. She narrowed her gaze and angled her wings, preparing to dive.
She swooped down and started peppering the horde with Cosmic Blasts that burned to ash with violet fire. After that, Athyst heard several horrifying screeches echoing across the sky.
Her head snapped toward the monsters as she spotted several wyverns soaring straight for her. Panic surged through Athyst, and she quickly turned to flee. Her heart raced as the creatures closed in, their screeches echoing.
''Where did they co from!'' she muttered to herself.
She flapped her wings harder to gain speed as the newcors pursued her, but that's when a wave of mana shells flew across the sky, peppering the wyverns and causing them to plumt to the ground below.
'Thank the goddess for the cannons, or they would have caught .'
Following that, Athyst flew back to the fortress and, when getting close, was hit by a powerful blast that caused her to yelp in pain as she crashed onto the wall. While lying there, she felt a comforting feeling wash over her.
She looked up and noticed Estelle standing there with a worried expression. The blonde spoke in an anxious tone while checking her over, ''What happened? The last ti I saw you was when you were close to the walls.''
Athyst got up once the damage was nded, thanks to Healing Light; she shook her head before answering, ''I was scouting the mountain pass to the east and saw a massive horde heading in this direction. I fled, of course, but Wyverns chased until the Mana Cannons opened fire at them.''
Estelle nodded in understanding as she spoke, ''The scouts reported another wave, but this one looks like it will overrun us. Did you send Azhar'Zul a ssage?''
''Yes, he's on his way but is on the other side of the Northern Wastes,'' Athyst answered as Grishna and Artemis appeared.
The orc woman started checking on Athyst, ''Are you okay, Little Bird? We see you crash when that spell hit you.''
"I'm fine, Grish. The spell burned, but Estelle's healing magic did wonders to help," she replied with a smile.
Artemis was about to talk, but a roar echoed across the land, causing them to turn to the source. That's when a massive giant slowly approached the fortress, but sothing was wrong.
Athyst's eyes widened as she revealed, ''That's a Chaos Monster! I've felt this aura before.''
The three won were surprised when the brunette asked, without taking her eyes off the incoming threat, ''Why would it be here? We're in the middle of nowhere.''
''It's coming for us,'' Grishna answered everyone's question.
Everyone turned to her, waiting for an explanation. The orc woman sighed as she explained, ''We're connected to Azhar'Zul, and sohow these Chaos Beings know this; that's why they're attacking the fortress to get at us.''
When the other three heard this, they agreed with concerned nods as Rollo appeared, ''My Ladies! The monsters are getting close to the walls; we will start firing.''
Estelle looked at the older man and agreed, ''Do that; we will start casting spells into the Monster Wave.''
Following that, the four won unleashed a barrage of spells at the horde of monsters closing in on the fortress. Athyst took the lead, channeling her energy into a Cosmic Blast that erupted from her fingertips, unleashing a storm of chaos.
The energy cascaded down like raining stars, tearing through the Blightborn's bodies with explosive force. Next was Grishna, who focused on the tal orbs in her hands. With a chant, she hurled them into the crowd of creatures.
A piercing shriek erupted from the orbs as they detonated, sending the frontline of monsters crashing into their ranks. Seizing the mont, she cast Razorwind Blades, which sliced through the air, cutting through the crowd of enemies.
Estelle raised her sword high, her voice steady as she invoked, ''Dawn's Wrath!''
A blinding white light erupted in the sky, swirling before swooping down to engulf the Chaos Monsters—the burning wave washed over them, incinerating the creatures, which shocked everyone.
It consud them from the inside out, leaving only ash in its wake, much to the delight of the soldiers who rallied behind her, their spirits lifted. With the battlefield montarily illuminated, Artemis sprang onto the wall as a big smile appeared on her pretty face.
She unleashed Arc Lightning, crackling through the clouds overhead. A lightning bolt struck the horde relentlessly in a stunning display of power, decimating them even more. The air buzzed with energy.
Athyst gazed at the three won, her eyes wide with disbelief. Suddenly, the Chaos Giant let out another thunderous roar, drawing closer to the fortress. An azure glow illuminated the dark sky, catching everyone's attention.
A loud boom echoed across the tundra as the giant crashed to the ground, sending shockwaves through the air. Athyst's excitent erupted, "Azhar'Zul is back! And he just punched that massive monster!"

As Atlas dove toward the towering giant, he gathered every ounce of his strength, preparing to unleash one of his most devastating attacks. The mont his fist collided with the Chaos Monster, he released the full force of his power in a single blow.
"Void Smash!" he shouted.
A dark ripple spread across the monster, montarily distorting its shape before an explosive shockwave resonated outward. The ground shook violently as the Chaos Giant staggered backward before crashing to the earth with a thunderous crash.
Then Atlas summoned the Void Golem King, who flew out of the portal and landed on the Chaos Giant. The two behemoths started fighting, but he continued summoning Golem Warriors and Commanders until he was low on mana.
'I need to take a break with the magic.'
His minions surged through the Chaos Horde, obliterating the enemy with their colossal stone fists, reducing them to a bloody paste. Just then, Nulia and Atek plunged into the fray, towering in their massive forms.
The Frostbear woman unleashed her formidable claws, slicing through the smaller Chaos Monsters with lethal precision, turning them into a crimson mist. Atlas smiled before spamming Void Barrages into the approaching Blightborns.
'This should take out enough and earn a lot of experience,' he mused.
As the creepy humanoids charged forward, the azure projectile wave cut them down and turned their bodies into Swiss cheese. The fortress then started attacking even more, and explosions erupted everywhere.
Atlas turned to his blades to save so mana and cut down dozens of horrifying monsters. They ca crashing down as a notification popped up, shocking him to the core but making him smile.

In front of him stood a tall, gangly humanoid with an unsettling presence. Its long, blood-soaked claws glistened as it slowly licked the crimson liquid from its fingers, its eerie eyes locked onto him.
He shook his head, unfazed, and activated Void Sight, scanning the creature to uncover its level and rank to see if he could win.
