[The fourth thod of evolution is mutation. This is a thod of direct surgery that requires the lab master to get familiar with bodies.]

Suddenly, Forsyx found himself floating down toward the lab.

He passed through the lab roof into this massive hall.

Fog covered everything around the hall except for a massive table, where he saw a huge rat lying there.

Just then, a white blob entered the room with shiny golden eyes floating next to it.

The blob fed so kind of substance to the rat that made it sleep.

What happened next was straight out of a horror movie.

The blob, with precision, opened the rat’s eyelid and started cutting from the bottom edge of its eyeball.

Soon, the blob managed to pull out the entire rat’s eyes from the sockets.

It then tried to fit the golden eyes, but those eyes were too big to fit into the rat’s sockets.

Just to fit those eyes, the blob started breaking the rat’s skull while splashing so liquid, likely a healing potion. Each ti the blob threw that liquid, the rat stopped bleeding from that spot.

It didn’t take long for the blob to carve out the perfect space and then push the massive golden eyes into the rat’s face.

The mont the blob attached those eyes, the rat woke up and started shrieking in pain.

Forsyx saw it shaking as golden lines began to form around the rat’s face.

Then, before the blob could react, the rat scread so loudly that its skull just burst open.

Bam!

All the skull matter splashed across the hall.

Forsyx couldn’t help but rub his eyes. The path of mutation was not only expensive but required a mind of steel.

He still rembered the first ti he tried this thod on a dog—that dog went mad and tore apart its own body.

The kind of horror this thod could lead to still made him shiver a bit.

The white blob before him looked around and then walked out.

This ti, it dragged in a different kind of massive rat and another new golden eye.

The sa process was repeated, though interestingly, the rat cald down after screaming for a bit.

The white blob started rolling around in happiness.

At that mont, the right wall beca transparent, and there, Forsyx saw at least 200 pulseless rat bodies.

He understood the white blob’s reaction. With how massive these rats were, it was likely that they were elite or high-potential species.

So not only had the blob lost so many powerful rats, but also killing each of these creatures with your own hands left a much bigger impact.

It was far more daunting than the massacre done in the Adaptation thod.

After rolling around for a bit, he saw the white blob taking that mutated rat outside to an empty area.

Unlike other tis, the blob closely monitored the progress of the rat.

What was strange was that initially, golden lines appeared all over its body, but then two big horns appeared on the rat’s head.

Also, very small golden wings appeared on the rat’s back. It beca this weird amalgamation of different creatures.

[The thod of mutation is about evolving the creature further by introducing foreign material into its body. A perfect combination of creature and foreign object will further evolve that creature.]

Forsyx nodded his head, though he knew this explanation was a bit lacking.

What set Mutation apart from the first three thods was that it was the only thod that could help a creature move past its potential.

While the other three evolutions were generation-based, where only the next generation of rats had the opportunity to break that barrier.

Not long after, he saw two rat templates appear above the lab.

While the first one was a green elite template card of the rat used in the experint, the second one was actually red, the sa as his dire wolf card.

This was really a fascinating and super-fast thod to get so powerful template cards.

Though the big problem was that creating a stable, mutated species was hard. Most of the ti, the mutated creatures were unable to live long, and even unable to reproduce.

[The thod of mutation is the fastest out of all, but requires strong preparation.]

At that, Forsyx once again floated out of the lab as the voice echoed inside his head.

[The last thod of evolution is creation. It is the path that relies on combining the genes of two different kinds of creatures to create a third one out of them.]

Forsyx just looked around and saw nothing different this ti. There was just the voice inside his head, and no visuals—sa as his last life.

The vision did not show him the thod of creation, as it never involved any creatures at all.

The Creation thod was sothing that many lusted after, as this was more similar to those sci-fi fantasies where you genetically create a creature.

Also, another reason he thought the vision did not show him anything was that this thod involved the use of a gene machine.

In his past life, this was the thod he dread of succeeding in, but too bad he didn’t get much experience with it, as it was the most expensive thod.

He only had the funds to try it a couple of tis, all of which resulted in failure.

Though out of all five thods, he did the most research on the thod of Creation.

So of it ca from other players, while most of his knowledge ca from reading about gene mutation in the real world and from the experint logs of an ancient sage.

Even though he didn’t get to use that knowledge, he knew it worked in the ga because he stupidly shared it in the Beast Warrior chat group.

A few guys used it and gave their input about it.

Especially, the big players of that ti were all interested in discussing the thod of Creation.

They used to have sessions in the chats, which he and other new players also attended.

It was like a bunch of schoolkids coming to listen to scientists debate. Most of the stuff they discussed fascinated him, but it also went over his head.

Every monster-bonded player developed their specialty, but if there was one thing they all chased after, it was the Creation thod.

The Creation thod was more like a lottery where you could create any potential creature.

Forsyx clenched his hand, as this ti he was going to try his hand at this thod.

The vision started to fade away, but at that mont, suddenly, the sky started to turn red.

Before Forsyx could understand anything, two beams of red light fell on the silver lab, tainting it red, and the next mont, everything blacked out for him.
