After sleeping for hours like a baby, Veyne woke up to the sound of knocking on the door.

Tak tak!

"Veyne... Veyne."

Veyne stretched his body and asked while yawning, "Yeah?"

"I am going to order so food. You want to eat together? Should I order for you?"

Veyne squinted at the clock and saw it was already 10 a.m. "Ah, you guys aren’t going to college today?"

"Dude, it’s Saturday. There’s no college today. Just tell what you want to eat."

Veyne rubbed his forehead. "Just order anything. I’ll be there in 10 minutes." "Okay."

With that, silence returned to the room.

Veyne rolled toward his phone, as usual, and found a lot of random spam ssages, which he ignored.

After making sure no one important had contacted him, he dropped the phone and rushed to the washroom.

Ten minutes later, Veyne walked out of his room, his hair still wet.

Alex waved at him. "Good morning, man."

Veyne nodded. "Yeah, good morning."

He plopped down on the sofa and asked, "Where are the others?"

Alex scratched his head. "The business departnt has to submit their project by Monday. Both of them are busy with that."

Veyne raised his eyebrows and asked, "What about our departnt? Anything important going on these days?"

Alex was about to shake his head when he paused. "Oh yeah, the group parody companies will be announced next week."

Veyne tilted his head. "What’s that?"

It had been so long that he had forgotten a lot of stuff about college.

Alex waved his hand. "It’s just related to us creating a year-long balance sheet for a demo company."

Veyne just nodded. "Ah, okay."

Alex smiled at him. "Dude, you’re lucky to have both class toppers in your group."

Veyne looked at him, surprised. "Really?"

Alex stared at him with wide eyes. "Wait, don’t tell you don’t even know who’s in your group?"

Veyne rolled his eyes. "Co on, man. You know I rarely attend class these days."

Alex rubbed his chin. "Oh, now I understand why she was badmouthing you this whole ti."

Veyne tilted his head. "Who?"

"Our class rep, man. She’s in your group. I heard her complaining about how you never answer your phone."

Veyne rubbed his forehead as he rembered all the missed calls from unknown numbers he had ignored in the past few days.

That was completely on him.

He asked, "Oh, do you know who else is in my group?"

Alex nodded. "Dude, almost everyone in both classes knows about your group. Many even call it ’the group of opposites.’"

Veyne raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

Alex was about to speak when they heard the doorbell.

Ding dong!

"Oh, that should be the food." Alex got up, and within a few seconds, he returned with two big polythene bags in his hands.

Veyne picked one bag and started arranging the stuff on the table while Alex said, "Out of five mbers, your group has both our class rep and the topper of the first class."

Veyne rembered that the Finance Departnt had two classes, and he was part of Class 2. "Wow, so they placed both heavy hitters in the sa group."

Alex nodded. "Yup, but the other three include you, who has the least attendance in our class. Then there’s that girl who failed in two out of five subjects in our class. The last one’s from the first class — he’s also one of those non-attendees."

Veyne took a sip of his juice and said, "So they dood the toppers with us."

Alex nodded. "Yeah, it was all the idea of the departnt head. Dude, that guy has so serious issues with you guys. I’m sure he just did it to humiliate you and was planning to fail you."

"Wait, he can’t fail the topper."

Alex shook his head. "Dude, even though it’s a group project, at the end, each mber has to give an individual explanation of how they created the balance sheet."

He now understood why such a group had been ford.

With both toppers in the team, it was likely they would create the best possible presentation. That only ant it would be harder for soone like him to explain it.

This departnt head was a headache.

Wait... departnt head... As he thought about the man, an infamous incident flashed through his head.

The love affair between the English professor and the departnt head’s wife, who was a humanities professor at the college.

The very famous scandal where they got caught making out by a bunch of first years.

That was a really big incident that happened in his final year.

To be honest, as a teacher, he really liked the English professor the most.

If possible, he wanted to help the guy, but too bad; it looked like he might have to sacrifice a wonderful teacher for a greater cause.

Well, nothing was fixed for now, but one thing was clear: he didn’t want to fail college.

He looked at Alex and asked, "By the way, when will the submission date for this group thing be?"

Alex shrugged. "No idea. The submission date isn’t announced yet, but it should be within 15 days of receiving the demo companies."

Veyne sighed. "Dude, that’s more than enough ti. You scared for a mont. You know, your reaction just placed a few people’s futures in danger."

Alex swallowed the food in his mouth. "What are you talking about?"

Veyne waved his hand. "Ah, nothing. By the way, Roonie invited you three to a party."

Alex stared at him with wide eyes. "What? When?"

Veyne focused on eating as he said in a casual tone, "It’s tomorrow evening. Also, I’ll be moving out on the sa day."

Alex stared at him and asked, "You’re going back to your office?"

Veyne shook his head. "Nah, Roonie just gave a house to live in. You guys should co over on weekends. It’d be fun to party there."

Alex looked down and nodded. "Man, I still can’t believe you’re working under Roonie."

Veyne smiled. "Well, sotis in life, the most abused path might be the most suitable one for you."

With that, both of them started eating while talking about random stuff. From Alex’s progress in the ga to how a guy got rejected in front of the entire class, and so on.
