"So, what exactly is your relationship with my granddaughter?"

"W-What? How did you know!?"

"I never saw her face before. But if that girl, Leaffa, over there is my granddaughter, then that elf girl cheering you on must be too. The youngest one, Lielle, right? I can tell from the wavelength of her mana."

Dairon had been watching Luke and Lielle talking, noticing how close they were. It also seed he also realized Lielle was his granddaughter.

"... I’m Lielle's husband."

"I see. My granddaughter has good taste, choosing a sage as her partner."

Dairon smiled, looking satisfied.

"Does that an you approve of our marriage?"

"Approve? You’re already married, aren’t you? If there were any issues, Sairos would have stopped it. My son already gave his blessing, so there’s nothing for to complain about."

Hearing this, Luke let out a relieved sigh. He had wanted to prove his strength to Dairon and earn his approval for marrying Lielle.

"Two of my grandkids married to sages, huh? Looks like Alheim has a promising future. Just don’t go dying early and making my granddaughter sad. I even have a special elixir I found in the Demon Realm—it’ll extend your lifespan."

"T-Thank you."

This was Dairon's way of showing his concern and expressing his boundless support for Lielle’s happiness as her grandfather. Seeing Lielle anxiously watching Luke from the sidelines, he knew the two had a strong bond.

"I'm not here to question your marriage. But as her husband, I need to see if you have what it takes to protect my granddaughter. So fight —give everything you've got."

Dairon raised Hakoku into a high stance. That was all he did—just a simple motion. But Luke could feel it. Dairon had lived for thousands of years as a high elf, constantly training. His movents were so refined, so perfect, that Luke couldn't help but gulp.

"You don't have to be a monster like Ernol, who can slice through orichalcum with a single strike. Just show your strength—the power of a sage who has pushed his limits as a human."

"Understood. I'll give it my all!"

Lightning crackled around Luke as he activated his Magic Suit with Lightning Attribute.

Seeing that, Dairon charged forward.

A single downward swing of Hakoku sent a cutting wave flying through the air.

Hakoku was a weapon that could unleash magical slashes by channeling energy into its blade, but Dairon wasn't even using it that way. He was just swinging it with sheer speed and force, creating a razor-sharp vacuum slash.

The attack rushed toward Luke—

—But he dodged it with ease.

"Impressive. You can use a magic armor with lightning attribute, huh?"

"Magic armor?"

"A technique where you envelop yourself in magic, just like you’re doing now. You an you’ve been using it without even realizing what it is?"

"Oh, we call this ‘Magic Suit.’"

It was a technique originally developed and nad by Halt. Since his status had been "locked" by a curse from the Evil God, he couldn't benefit from physical enhancent magic like normal people. Having been reincarnated into a world of magic, Halt had imagined doing things like lifting massive boulders or slicing the sea in half with a hand strike. But when he realized he couldn't, he was pretty devastated.

Even so, he didn’t give up. If he couldn't strengthen himself from the inside, then maybe he could do it from the outside—by wrapping himself in mana. That was the logic behind Magic Suit, and Halt successfully made it a reality.

Physical enhancent magic was the most basic of spells—practically anyone with magical abilities could use it. Even warriors and knights often employed it. The effectiveness depended on how much mana you put into it.

However, Magic Suit was far more advanced. It required keeping mana suspended around the body and being able to manipulate it freely. If mastered, however, it could offer power far beyond traditional enhancent magic. Unbeknownst to Halt, this Magic Suit that he supposedly invented had actually existed in this world for a long ti.

"A technique like this is aningless unless you can fully control your magic. But you dodged my attack with no problem. That tells you're already a master of it."

Dairon grinned. The fact that Luke could use Magic Suit at all put him in an entirely different league from ordinary humans. With that alone, he could already hold his own against demons and other monstrous foes.

"I see you have more than enough strength to be my granddaughter’s husband. I can rest easy knowing she’s in good hands. But is that all you’ve got? Show sothing that’ll really surprise !"

"Sothing surprising…? Alright, then."

Luke’s presence shifted. He had just recently perfected a new spell. And right now, he decided this was the perfect ti to unveil it.

"Allow to present the spell I created—one that is a level beyond Ultimate Magic."
