Halt confird it first with Sylph, but the girl seed confident.
Sylph is the Wind Spirit King, the strongest among spirits with the wind attribute. However, the Celestial Spirit King rules supre over all spirits in this world. Normally, the Celestial Spirit King would be stronger than the Wind Spirit King if they fought with each other directly.
"I’ve gotten a lot stronger by being with you, Halt. Besides, I’ve got a secret plan."
"A secret plan?"
Sylph gave the confused Halt a playful smile before floating up to the arena.
"So, the first round is against the girl who can fly with magic, huh?"
Johann, the judge, had seen Sylph back during Halt and the other’s E-rank advancent exam. Of course, he knew how powerful her wind magic was, but compared to the Bakemono like Halt, Sitri, and Akari, Sylph hadn’t seed all that threatening in terms of raw power.
What had stuck in Johann's mind more was her ability to fly effortlessly for long periods, sothing very few magic users could do.
Facing her in the arena was a massive man wielding a shining spear.
It was no other than the Celestial Spirit King.
The mont they stepped into the arena, the crowd thought the fight should be called off. However, Johann did nothing to stop it. He knew Sylph’s cute appearance hid imnse power.
By the way, if this were the main tournant, there would be tens of thousands of spectators., but since it was still the preliminaries, only a few hundred people were watching.
Those few hundred were actually lucky.
They were about to witness a once-in-a-lifeti, ultimate battle, and they even do so from a safe distance. Halt, at Johann's request, had set up a magic barrier around the arena to protect the spectators. He also considered the possibility that his teammates would fight mid-air, so the barrier was open at the top to allow for any aerial combat.
Anna felt bad about leaving all the defense arrangents to Halt, so she also strengthened the barrier. An impenetrable barrier was created with the combined powers of the strongest sage and the transmigrator with Bakemono level of cheat skills. “Yes, yes, I know. I’ll talk to Halt later, okay.”
Next was Undine, the Water Spirit King, who seed to have made so secret pact with Sylph.
The four elental Spirit Kings now gathered, rendering even the almighty Celestial Spirit King speechless.
"W-Wait a minute you guys! Isn’t this cheating?!"
In the past, the Celestial Spirit King could have handled a four-on-one battle against the other Spirit Kings, but now, each of the four Spirit Kings had been greatly empowered by their contracts with Halt.
The Celestial Spirit King had also ford a contract with Halt and received so of his mana, but since he was rarely summoned, Sylph, who was always with Halt, had grown much stronger.
"Why are Ifrit and the others getting stronger from Halt’s magic when it was Sylph who summoned them?!"
Usually, a summoner strengthens spirits by giving them extra mana during summoning. Since Sylph had summoned Ifrit, the boost should have been limited to her own mana levels.
"Ah! Maybe it's because I’ve been summoning Sylph constantly?"
Turns out, Halt was the culprit.
The cheat-level sage with infinite magic had been keeping the Spirit Kings constantly manifested in the human world, a feat that would normally require an enormous amount of mana.
Normally, a summoned spirit can’t summon others. Most spirits can’t even use summoning magic, but thanks to Halt’s magic and the power Sylph had accumulated under him, she could now do so. However, the fact that Halt's magic was being used to power up her summons wasn't sothing Sylph had done on purpose.
"I don’t really get it either, but... I feel like we can beat the Celestial Spirit King-sama today!!"
And so, the battle began: the Four Great Spirit Kings, supercharged by the strongest sage's magic, versus the Celestial Spirit King, the pinnacle of all spirits.
