Chapter 36: Tactical training is finally here!

Looking at the crowd’s puzzled expressions, Chen Ming explained, “Have you all seen military-thed TV shows?”

Everyone nodded. Although in 2008, the internet wasn’t widespread, TV had already reached countless households, and I had watched so military-thed TV series.

Chen Ming continued, “In those shows, soldiers with guns crawl under barbed wire – that’s tactical training.”

People imdiately understood. Before, they only knew they were training, but they didn’t realize it was tactical training.

Yu Jun asked, puzzled, “Is tactical training that difficult?”

Chen Ming chuckled, “Wait until you experience it, then you’ll know.”

Having co from a future with advanced internet and short videos, he knew how terrifying tactical training on the ground could be. Compared to tactical training, their current training seed like child’s play.

As they were about to ask more questions, the squad leader asked, “What are you chatting about? Duty students, hurry to the cafeteria. Not eating?”

Today’s duty students quickly ran to the cafeteria. After the routine breakfast and dormitory cleanup, the squad leader led them to training, but the destination wasn’t the usual training ground. No one dared to ask where they were going, so they followed the squad leader.

After a while, they arrived at an unfamiliar training ground with barbed wire fences. Before entering, they could see the training ground’s setup, similar to military TV dramas.

“Could it be true what Chen Ming said? Are we starting tactical training today?” Everyone wondered.

After entering, the squad leader announced, “Today, we’ll conduct tactical exercises.”

He briefly explained tactical training and added, “Tactical training has basic types: ‘offensive’ and ‘defensive.’ Different branches have different subjects and different terrains have varied training thods.”

The squad leader introduced the tactical training content, emphasizing that they would start with the basics today.

“Basic tactical movents are combat skills derived from real battles. They form the foundation for all tactical training. In actual combat, a soldier’s ability to utilize firepower, concealnt, and eliminate enemies depends on how well they apply basic tactical movents.”

He emphasized that tactical training is the path to real combat, and if they don’t excel in it, they’ll be cannon fodder on the battlefield. He urged them to be serious and ticulous in the upcoming training.

Understood, everyone replied.

The squad leader nodded and said, “The first tactical move is to lie down!”

After finishing, he extended his hand, taking the rifle from Chen Ming. “I’ll demonstrate lying down with the gun to provide cover. Watch carefully and learn.”

After speaking, the squad leader began demonstrating, “When lying down with the gun, take a step forward with your left foot, lean your upper body forward, shift your center of gravity forward, touch the ground with your left knee, left elbow, and left forearm in sequence. Then, rotate your body, and while fully prone, use both hands to send the gun towards the target.”

While explaining, the squad leader mimicked the movents, ending with a heavy thud on the ground, a sound that even sounded painful, making everyone instinctively grimace.

Yet, before they could recover, the squad leader instructed them to demonstrate. Recalling the squad leader’s actions, they attempted to replicate them but couldn’t achieve the fluidity he displayed.

Observing their attempts, the squad leader couldn’t help but scold, “After the left knee hits the ground, the left elbow should quickly follow. Don’t use your hands to support yourself before landing. What are you all doing?”

“Smash it down, hit your elbow, hit the ground!” He exclaid, frustrated.

He wanted them to hit the ground forcefully, so even if iron nails were in front of them when the order to lie down was given, they would hit the ground directly.

After a round of scolding, the squad leader took a deep breath and commanded, “Get up, continue!”

The recruits stood up and followed the commands. Again, The squad leader demonstrated the importance of swift and forceful movents.

However, their attempts were still not up to the squad leader’s standards. Frustrated, he shouted, “Get your left elbow down quickly after the left knee hits the ground. Hit the ground!”

Finally, after scolding, he took another breath and said, “Get up, continue, lie down!”

Despite the pain and scolding, they persevered through the training. Each attempt at lying down and standing up left their knees and elbows bruised and battered.

After the session, the squad leader grunted, “Better than last ti, but many flaws still exist. Continue, get up, lie down!”

The recruits, though in pain, gritted their teeth and continued. The training included lying down and standing up, each repetition harsh and demanding. During the break, everyone massaged their aching bodies, and amidst the complaints, Chen Ming responded, “We’re just getting started. There’s a lot more to co.”

Upon hearing this, everyone shuddered, anticipating the challenges ahead.
