Chapter 968: Chapter 967 Misunderstanding (1)
“Honey, what’s troubling you?” Wen Chi asked cautiously. He had just been fine last night, so why was he gloomy today?
Gu Huanhuan was usually straightforward. She had intended to confront him about whether he had been going on dates with beauties behind her back, but she thought better of it and held back. She hadn’t pointed it out initially, and now it was too late.
“It’s nothing, I’m just a bit tired today,” Gu Huanhuan’s tone remained the sa.
“Where’s my sweet baby?” Wen Chi asked.
“Just fell asleep.” Wen Chi asked one question, and Gu Huanhuan answered only that much. Even soone as slow as Wen Chi could tell that Gu Huanhuan was angry with him. Usually, if there was sothing bothering her, she wouldn’t stop chattering about it.
But he hadn’t upset her, had he? Their phone conversation last night had been perfectly normal.
However, understanding a woman’s heart is like searching for a needle in the ocean, sothing he just couldn’t figure out.
He couldn’t help but smile bitterly.
“If you’re too busy to co back, I’ll try to find so ti to visit the set. Take care of yourself,” Wen Chi was still as gentle as ever.
“Hmm.” After hanging up the phone, Gu Huanhuan sent a ssage to Shu Pan, saying she was back and wanted to stay at her place for a couple of days.
Shu Pan was definitely very welcoming.
Gu Huanhuan checked the ti, feeling tired herself, so she took a nap with her daughter.
They didn’t wake up until almost 5 PM.
Soon, everyone else was back ho too.
It had been a while since Gu Huanhuan had seen Shu Pan, so the first ti she saw her, she couldn’t stop complinting her.
“Cousin-in-law, you look younger and more beautiful; my brother must be feeling threatened,” Gu Huanhuan said while holding an apple in her hand, taking bites as she spoke.
“Flatterer.” Any woman would be happy to receive complints. “Is Wen Chi on a business trip?”
Shu Pan typically guessed that it was when Wen Chi was away that Huanhuan would co over.
Gu Huanhuan was taken aback for a mont before managing a forced smile, “He’s been busy.”
Her words were sowhat vague.
“He’s doing it all for you and your daughter, working harder,” Shu Pan chid in supportively.
Gu Huanhuan nodded. Shu Pan always felt sothing was off, wondering if there had been a conflict between her and Wen Chi.
She would call Wen Chi later to ask.
Wen Chi finished work unusually early today, and his afternoon had gone smoothly.
When he took off his white coat, Song Ying was already standing there, smiling gracefully, enchanting and attractive in her deanor.
“Let’s go, Gao Jie is already waiting for us,” Song Ying said.
“Okay,” Wen Chi nodded slightly.
The two walked together, a handso man and a pretty woman, indeed a perfect match, drawing envious glances from everyone.
The dinner was at a high-end Cantonese restaurant; with Gao Jie coordinating, the atmosphere was quite harmonious.
Song Ying was natural and graceful, every gesture showing her upbringing and restraint.
Wen Chi was turned slightly, chatting with Gao Jie.
The three of them ate and talked, and soon it was almost over when suddenly a phone rang.
“It’s yours, buddy,” Gao Jie pointed at the phone.
Wen Chi picked up to see that Shu Pan was calling, which was unusual. He wondered what it could be about?
He apologized, then picked up the phone and walked aside.
“Chi, are you on a business trip?” Shu Pan cut straight to the chase.
“No, I just finished work and am having dinner with so friends. Any issues?” Wen Chi casually responded, his hand in his pocket.
“Weird, then why is Huanhuan here with Warm Sunlight saying she wants to stay here for a couple of days? You two didn’t have a fight, did you?” Shu Pan found it strange.
