Gu Huanhuan lay on the gurney, her face covered in sweat as she called out weakly, “Chi.”
“Don’t be afraid. I’m here. I’ll support you from outside.” Wen Chi comforted her, his voice trembling uncontrollably.
Wen Chi wanted to be in the delivery suite, but Gu Huanhuan felt awkward having him there.
Wen Chi had no choice but to give in to her. What else could he do? She was the queen now.
Gu Huanhuan looked at him with deep affection. Although her forehead was covered in sweat, her beautiful eyes remained vivid. They were so bright that they seed to shine straight into his heart.
Wen Chi couldn’t help but bend down and hold her hand. He then kissed the back of her hand. “Don’t be afraid. My Huanhuan is the bravest. Let’s welco our baby together. You will do well and I’m here for you.”
“That’s right, Huanhuan. Mom will be here too. Don’t be afraid. Mom has done this before. You will be fine.” Mrs. Wen comforted her as well.
Gu Huanhuan gritted her teeth and nodded at them. She had actually gotten use to the pain. All she could feel now were the words of encouragent in her ears.
Soon, Gu Huanhuan was pushed into the delivery suite. Wen Chi asked his colleagues to take good care of her; he was extrely nervous.
He was usually calm when he watched the births of other people’s children. He just couldn’t relax when it ca to his own child.
The mont the door to the delivery suite closed, Wen Chi’s heart also tightened.
Ti ticked by and Gu Huanhuan’s muffled cries from inside the room made the people outside even more nervous.
Wen Chi paced the hallway. He could hear Huanhuan’s cries more clearly every ti he walked close to the door. He couldn’t help but feel his heart in his mouth.
Wen Chi’s frown deepened as he blad himself. Why did he want a baby? He had been too selfish to make Gu Huanhuan suffer like that.
He felt like a cat on hot bricks but there was nothing he could do.
He suddenly rembered his first eting with Gu Huanhuan.
They were like frenemies from the start. So kind of disagreent would always happen when they t. Who would have thought that they would fall in love and marry each other?
Just as Wen Chi was reminiscing, a loud voice rang out from behind the tightly shut door.
The high-pitched crying seed to have penetrated the door. It was the most touching sound in the world.
Wen Chi’s heart cald as he stared at the door with emotion.
His little princess had been born.
How wonderful.
Mrs. Wen and the confinent nanny rushed over excitedly when they heard the baby cry and waited patiently for Gu Huanhuan to co out.
Shortly after, the doctor pushed open the door and walked out. She took off her mask and fatigue showed on her face. But she said to the three of them with a smile, “Congratulations, Dr. Wen. Both mother and baby are fine. Your little princess weighs six pounds and is very healthy.”
“Thank you. How’s my wife?” Wen Chi asked anxiously in a choked voice.
“She’s fine. Don’t worry. She’s just a little tired. She’ll be fine after so rest. We’ll push her out soon.” The doctor replied with a smile. She didn’t expect Dr. Wen to love his wife so much.
“That’s good. Thank you for your hard work.” Wen Chi said gratefully.
Wen Chi had always wanted a daughter who was a mini version of Gu Huanhuan. His wish had finally co true.
“You’re welco. The delivery went smoothly. You can get the new mommy so congee. She needs to eat sothing soon. Childbirth has been physically demanding and tiring for mommy.” The doctor continued.
“I’ll go get so.” The nanny said. She knew that Wen Chi and Mrs. Wen would like to see the mother and daughter as soon as possible.
Soon, Gu Huanhuan was pushed back to her ward. She was wide awake. The mont she saw her daughter, she felt that all her pain and hard work were worth it.
