Chapter 1260: Chapter 1259: An Accident Chapter 1260: Chapter 1259: An Accident Zhou’s mother could only sulk at the sight of her.

Fortunately, a friend ca to find Zhou’s mother, and she shifted her attention.

For Bai Lan, Zhou father’s birthday feast was really a perilous banquet.

Bai Lan temporarily breathed a sigh of relief.

While Bai Lan was daydreaming, Zhou Shengting returned and sat down beside her.

“What’s the matter? What are you thinking about?” His deep, magnetic voice pulled Bai Lan back to reality, and she turned to look at him.

“Nothing, are you done?” Bai Lan noticed that everyone was seated, and the host had already started the proceedings.

“Yes, just entertaining everyone.” Zhou Shengting had been uneasy for a while as he hadn’t seen Bai Lan.

Because he knew she was not quite accustod to such occasions.

Bai Lan nodded, feeling inexplicably nervous because Zhou’s mother was sitting beside her.

At that mont, the host’s voice rang out, “Let us welco our host, Mr. Zhou, to give a speech.”

Zhou Shengting patted Bai Lan’s hand, then went up to the stage, took the microphone from the host, “Thank you all for taking ti out of your busy schedules to attend my father’s birthday banquet. I’m very grateful. Please enjoy your al….”

Zhou’s mother, watching her son on stage, then proudly said, “Sheng Ting is really outstanding, but it’s a pity….”

Bai Lan smiled faintly, numb to such remarks.

As Zhou father was quite traditional, he opted for a Chinese-style banquet rather than a Western one for his birthday.

After Zhou Shengting’s speech, the al service began.

The venue was packed, filling the entire banquet hall.

Bai Lan realized she did not fit in here; she couldn’t blend into such gatherings.

So, after the al service began, she just ate quietly, and Zhou’s mother looked at her with a disdainful smirk.

Just then, as a waiter was serving soup beside Bai Lan, she tried to move to the side. Probably nervous, the waiter tilted his hand, and so of the soup suddenly spilled onto Bai Lan.

“Ah….” Bai Lan cried out softly, and at the sa ti, she imdiately stood up, feeling a fiery pain on her arm.

Bai Lan felt like tears were going to burst out from the pain.

“Such an embarrassnt, making a fuss over nothing,” Zhou’s mother chided beside her.

Zhou Shengting, hearing the noise, had already co over and was hurrying Bai Lan to the restroom.

He was walking quickly and was very anxious; Bai Lan could hardly keep up. Suddenly, Zhou Shengting rembered Bai Lan was pregnant, so he stopped, picked her up around the waist, and quickly walked on.

Bai Lan was startled, then imdiately clung to Zhou Shengting’s neck.

“I guess it’s not a big deal, don’t be so nervous.” In fact, Bai Lan vaguely felt that her arm was in pain and burning.

It was very uncomfortable.

But she didn’t want Zhou Shengting to worry, so she kept enduring.

In the restroom, Zhou Shengting turned on the tap and frantically splashed water on her arm.

Fortunately, her stomach was shielded by her bag, so it was mostly her arm that was severely affected, turning red.

Zhou Shengting felt an intense heartache seeing this, regretful that such an accident had occurred tonight.

“It really doesn’t hurt.” Bai Lan, seeing Zhou Shengting’s complexion, which seed paler than hers, bore the discomfort and comforted him.

Zhou Shengting kept seriously rinsing Bai Lan’s hand with water.

“Hubby, I’m sorry, it seems like I’ve ruined Dad’s birthday banquet,” Bai Lan said with so regret.

She also had not anticipated such an accident.
