“You… Mrs. Gu, I am Mr. Gu’s most capable assistant. All my work arrangents are up to Mr. Gu,” Xia Xiaoqiao’s face flushed imdiately because of Shu Pan’s words.

Shu Pan didn’t want to dwell on this issue any longer; she would see how Gu Shaoting would handle it.

A ray of light entered the hospital room, and Gu Shaoting slowly opened his eyes, montarily disoriented. Where was he?
His mind was a bit foggy.
“Mr. Gu, are you awake?” Xia Xiaoqiao asked excitedly.
“Xia… secretary… Where is my wife?” Gu Shaoting beca a bit more alert, glanced around a white expanse, and felt a sharp pain when he tried to move his hand.
“Mr. Gu, don’t move; you are receiving an injection,” Xia Xiaoqiao quickly stopped his movent, worrying that he might bleed if he pulled sothing.
“Where am I now?” Gu Shaoting asked, puzzled.
“Oh, you are in the hospital. After you got injured, I called an ambulance,” Xia Xiaoqiao claid credit.
“Oh, have you inford my wife?” Gu Shaoting thought about not returning all night, and Shu Pan must have been extrely worried.
“Yes, she’s been inford. She went out. Mr. Gu, I think Mrs. Gu doesn’t care much about you,” Xia Xiaoqiao whispered a complaint.
Gu Shaoting frowned slightly, showing his disapproval. He didn’t like others comnting on his wife, especially not in a negative way.
Xia Xiaoqiao saw Gu Shaoting’s face darken, and she didn’t dare say anything more.
Just then, Shu Pan entered, holding a thermal flask.
She had just gone out to make a phone call, asking Auntie Li to take the children to school and then to have the driver bring so congee to the hospital.
With Gu Shaoting’s condition, he could only eat so plain congee.
As soon as she entered, she saw Gu Shaoting had awakened and Xia Xiaoqiao was standing by like a dutiful wife.

The sound of the door opening startled Gu Shaoting; he turned his face, saw her, and smiled, “Where have you been?”
“Hmm, I had Auntie Li prepare so congee for you. Are you hungry?” Shu Pan walked over.
Gu Shaoting imdiately took hold of her hand from the other side, “Thank you for this.”
Xia Xiaoqiao stood to one side, like a piece of furniture, not knowing how to react.
She couldn’t join the conversation at all.
Gu Shaoting noticed her, “Secretary Xia, you can go back now. My wife is here, and my injuries aren’t severe. Be careful, though; your ex-boyfriend might still cause you trouble.”
Xia Xiaoqiao was sowhat surprised and touched that Mr. Gu was concerned about her safety even while he was recovering.
She nodded repeatedly, touched, “Mr. Gu, thank you for your concern. I’ll leave now, then. You rest well, and I’ll co over again when I have ti.”
Upon hearing this, Shu Pan realized that Gu Shaoting’s words indeed carried weight, and she couldn’t help but mock herself a bit.
After Xia Xiaoqiao left, Gu Shaoting looked at Shu Pan’s expression, “Panpan, don’t you have anything to say?”
